Dawn's voice was so sharp that everyone in the restaurant turned to look at her.
Blaine stood frozen, and a flicker of surprise crossed his face, which had been haughty. He hadn't expected there to be anything inside the urn.
Erin had been watching the drama unfold indifferently just now. And she finally broke the silence. "Blaine, don't make things difficult for Dawn. Although the ashes are fake, her feelings for you are genuine. She did this just to make you care more about her. She didn't do anything wrong."
Erin's words made Blaine not feel guilty instantly. He looked at Dawn with disdain and even disrespectfully kicked at the ashes with his foot. "Such a low and deceitful act is truly disgusting. You know I hate lies the most."
Dawn stared at Blaine, whom she had loved dearly. He shattered Maya's ashes just after hearing Erin's words. He even stepped on them. So she was truly let down.
With a pale face, she stopped arguing. She simply lowered her head and gathered the ashes. Tears mixed with the dust, which made a pitiful sight.
Blaine, however, merely brushed off his suit, put his arm around Erin's waist, and left with her without looking back.
After the incident in the restaurant, Dawn didn't go home for a few days. Blaine felt uncomfortable when he saw his empty place.
He remembered that it was an important day for them on Friend, and he hesitated and wanted to call Dawn to apologize to her. But he held back and sent a cold message to her. "Don't forget to come to our wedding the day after tomorrow."
Dawn read the message coldly and then tossed her phone into the sealed bag Erin had prepared for her.
Erin said a bit guiltily, "I just wanted you and Blaine to have a fight. I didn't expect..."
Dawn interrupted Erin, saying coldly, "It doesn't matter anymore. I will leave, and I need you to make me disappear convincingly so that he can never find me alive."
Erin regained her composure and said, "Sure. That's what I want, too. I hope you will never come back to disrupt my life with Blaine."
Dawn waved her hand dismissively. "I'm moving on with my life."
...
"Move it a bit further ahead. Dawn likes spacious and bright venues. Those pink flowers are too flashy. She doesn't like them. She prefers yellow sunflowers. And..." At the wedding setup, Blaine was overseeing the arrangements personally. He had canceled a performance before.
Although the wedding planner would be responsible for it, he still went there himself and had even ordered Dawn's favorite strawberry cake.
Some of the staff members saw he was so attentive and couldn't help but sigh.
"The groom is handsome and considerate. The bride is so lucky to marry him. I'm so jealous."
"I heard that he and the bride have known each other since they were teenagers and that they supported each other. It's even the bride's birthday tomorrow. It's so sweet."
Blaine busied himself with the preparations. He took a twenty-carat diamond ring from his pocket and couldn't hold back his smile.
Some sharp-eyed waiters whispered.
"Wow, he's rich. I've only seen rings like that on TV. The groom is so indulgent to his bride."
"If I were the bride, I would forgive the groom whatever he did, as he was so good-looking and even bought such an expensive ring."
Hearing this, Blaine felt quite satisfied.
He glanced at his phone, and he hadn't received any message from Dawn. But didn't mind.
He and Dawn had spent ten years together. She couldn't possibly leave him. He was sure that she'd forgive him as soon as she saw the ring tomorrow.
During the rehearsal for the bride's entrance, Blaine watched the door with growing anxiety.
The music played, and the lights shone throughout the venue, but Dawn still hadn't appeared.
He intended to send a message to Dawn. "Are you still busy? Today's wedding rehearsal..."
Before he could send it, the gate slowly opened.
