Chapter 5 Betrayed

Edward wiped his tears and spoke more steadily. "Sansa was Levine's true mate. I saw them together by chance a few times. Levine told me he didn't want to betray his brother, so he kept their relationship a secret. But he had reached his limit and could no longer hide his love," Edward said, shocking the audience again.

The courtroom was full of whispers as everyone tried to understand the shocking news. I looked for Xavier, but he stayed far away, avoiding my eyes since the trial started. His cold behavior hurt me deeply, and every second of his indifference felt like a new wound.

Rosette continued her questioning, trying to get more details. "Why did Levine tell you specifically?"

Edward paused, his voice heavy with sadness. "Levine and I were very close. He trusted me completely and could talk to me without fear. He was my best friend," he said, looking solemnly at Xavier, who showed no reaction.

The courtroom grew tense. Shock, confusion, and judgment hung in the air. I felt the weight of everyone's eyes on me, their looks sharp and full of blame.

Rosette said, "Thank you, Mr. Edward. You may sit down."

After Edward stepped away, the room was filled with whispers of curiosity and judgment.

Amara, my one true friend, sat quietly in the corner. Her eyes were full of sadness and concern. I knew she was trying to comfort me, but we both understood that showing emotion here would only make things worse.

Judge Leia looked at me with a calm but questioning expression. "Miss Sansa, can you explain your confession?" she asked, her voice serious.

Edward's testimony had shattered my peace, his lies cutting into me like knives. I struggled to stay calm in front of the crowd that had already judged me. Anger boiled inside me, and I couldn't hold it back any longer.

"Get this... lying... bitch out of my sight!" I shouted, my voice trembling with rage and pain. "And I'll give you what you want-a confession."

The room fell silent, shocked by my outburst. All eyes were on me, judging me, but their scrutiny only made me more determined to fight back and reveal the Oak Pack's lies and unfairness.

"I did not do it," I said, my voice bitterly defiant. "But now that I think about it, I wish I had."

A wave of gasps spread through the crowd. Some looked shocked, some confused, and others seemed to feel I was telling the truth. Their eyes pierced me, their whispers and murmurs echoing in my ears.

The weight of their judgment pressed down on me, but I refused to fall. I stood tall, ready to face whatever came next. It was time for the truth to be told, even if I had to face it alone, surrounded by lies and betrayal.

As my words settled, the courtroom erupted into chaos. Angry shouts, growls, and bared teeth filled the air. Their true nature showed itself, feeding my anger and proving that justice would be hard to find here.

As I looked at each of them-the ones who had tormented and bullied me-anger and hatred filled me. These were the same people who once treated me like a valued member of the Oak Pack, only to abandon me when things got hard. Their betrayal hurt me deeply, and I wished I could make them feel the same pain they had caused me.

"I wish I had enough poison to get rid of all of you," I shouted, my voice full of anger. "You've made me regret not becoming the monster you wanted me to be. Even though I am innocent, justice is nowhere to be found. All of you just want me gone."

The room erupted into chaos, filled with angry growls and shouts. Some pack members lost control, acting on their instincts and pushing toward me with hatred. The Omegas, my only protection, quickly stepped in, forming a shield around me and keeping the others away.

Xavier, my husband and the Alpha of the Oak Pack, stood up, his voice strong and commanding. "Take her back for now."

His words cut through the noise like a sharp knife. The pack went silent, stunned by his authority. Xavier's powerful voice echoed through the room, warning anyone who might try to cause trouble.

For a moment, the courtroom fell completely quiet. Every pack member watched Xavier, waiting to see what he would do next.

I lay on the cold floor of the dark, poorly lit dungeon, surrounded by my thoughts and the pain of a broken heart. The angry voices of the pack members echoed off the walls. To keep my mind calm, I tried to ignore their shouts instead of sinking deeper into my sadness.

I did not know how that day had arrived so quickly; I felt someone's presence in my half-asleep; If that person wanted to harm me, he would have done it sooner; Why did the person take a risk to come here?

A soft creaking sound entered my ears, jolting my frozen body awake. I struggled to catch a glimpse of the stranger before he vanished into the darkness, my vision fuzzy.

I looked at the door, my curiosity growing. Slowly, I got up, ignoring the pain in my injured body. Determined, I carefully walked to the door and opened it slowly, listening to the creak it made. Had Adam or Amara unlocked it to help me escape this dark, gloomy place?

To my surprise, the main gate of the dungeon was open, giving me a glimmer of hope. I peeked out from behind the wall, my heart racing. On this cold night, a few pack members huddled around a fire, talking intensely about the upcoming trial that loomed over me like a dark shadow.

I looked toward a distant path leading away from the pack's territory.

Freedom was close, but the way ahead was dangerous and unclear. I steeled myself for the challenges ahead, determined to find the truth and prove my innocence. The journey was full of risks, but I refused to give up. Even in the darkness, a small spark of hope burned inside me, keeping my spirit strong.

"I don't think Xavier should be the judge," the woman said.

"Do you question his decision?" the man asked.
