Chapter 5 I want her

Alpha Caspian's POV.

"She's weak, that's to your advantage." My wolf purred inside of me.

There were still a lot of storm clouds in the sky and the garden smelled of burned earth from the previous evening. I was standing where she had fallen. The raw beautiful dangerous place where her power had come to the fore.

The world reacted when she screamed. The wind, the trees and the sky itself. Not only was Rosamond uncommon. She was divine chaos in human form. But I still desired her. Curse or no curse.

Lance's warnings were of no concern to me. I ignored his terrified Gammas mutterings of prophecies and curses. The eerie silence that followed her collapse and the fact that her body had gone limp in the grass didn't matter to her.

Rosa. That was all I could think.She had occupied my thoughts even when I was unconscious. I was plagued by her smell all night long. Defiant and sharp her voice reverberated.

Her strength which was so wild and fierce had evoked a deep part of my wolf. I was the one who should have her. Regardless of the price. I would take her and make her my own.

She was awake shortly after sunrise. I kept waiting. Slowly her lashes fluttered against her pale cheeks as she stirred her breaths shallow and bewildered. She appeared to be just another girl for a brief moment-weak, gentle and confused.

Then her eyes regained their fire. Her entire body stiffened as she recognized the day. The Beta females had already gathered around her clutching the ceremonial dress in their shaking hands but she sat up quickly.

"No." she growled as she scurried across the bed."No. I'm not going to do this. Get your filthy hands off me!"

Although her voice trembled one of them said softly "You have no choice Princess. The Alpha waits."

She wore a silver gown embroidered with crystals, the fabric bouncing off the sun like broken light across the walls. She kept trying to remove the pins holding her hair in place. While they were finishing the Betas had to hold her.

She was then led down the marble stairs of her brother's palace like a prisoner rather than a bride with silver cuffs around her wrists. The bottom is where I waited, a proud smirk tugging at the sides of my lips and my cold eyes regarded her.

Lance was already grinning and relieved as he stood next to me. He was eager to move on from her and rid himself of the burden that had followed his pack around for so long. Beside us stood the old emotionless priest. Two Gammas. A few devoted Betas. Enough to see the binding.

Rosa's eyes locked with mine and despite everything she still blazed with defiance. With clenched teeth she declared "I'm not doing this, this isn't right .You cannot force me."

Lance gave me a nod.

I said softly. "I can."

I moved forward, took hold of her hair and gave her a slight head-back so that her gaze remained fixed on mine. I snarled "You'll say the vows. It's either I make you mine anyhow or I burn this whole palace to the ground with just a single command, dare me."

She opened her mouth in dismay. A flash of terror. However, more than that. Hatred. Excellent. First she would despise me. Later she'll want me.

The priest started to recite the old lupine language which is ingrained in our species' DNA. I recited my vow with ease and in a steady unwavering voice. She hesitated until it was time for hers. I tugged her hair harder. She was gasping for air. and expressed it.

The air changed in an instant. The connection was made. Old magic irrevocable binding threaded between us. The priest held up his arms.

" By the powers bestowed on me, I hereby proclaim that you both are mated by the moon above and the sacred wolf!"

Everything was finished. With panting and trembling shoulders she fell forward. I didn't provide solace.

Lance had no time to waste. He stated "I've packed her belongings. I've provided a waiting entourage which will take you back to Shadow Moon, just to show my support. Tomorrow we will make the alliance public."

I held up my hand to silence him."I don't need your gifts, I'm bigger than that."

I was unconcerned with politics. All I cared about was that she was now mine. She however continued to struggle.

"You can't take me!" She screamed as the Gammas re-tightened the ropes around her wrists. "This isn't right-you can't-"

"You're my mate." I declared bluntly.

She squirmed against her restraints and yelled "You forced me, you heartless bastard!"

Tighter than before I took her arm and dragged her in the direction of the black SUV that was waiting. The hem of her gown was already torn from her protests as she staggered half-dragged barefoot once more along the polished marble path.

She yelled " Please stop this Lance! .You're my brother. Don't let them take me, please."

Lance did not even turn around. "It's been done Rosa. This is necessary for the pack. You are a sacrifice-born person. Your leaving will cleanse this pack and restore our balance forever. Locking you up won't break your curse, selling you off will."

A part of her was broken by those words. For a moment she froze. Then as we got to the car she turned around. Not easy. It was unexpected. She spun around after yanking her arms free with a sudden surge of strength, her wrists already red from the silver cords.

Her chest was rapidly rising and falling. Even though she had tears in her eyes her voice was broken and sharp.

She shouted "Why are you doing this? Just tell me, Why are you doing this? You hardly know me at all."

For a moment I just looked at her. She was expecting me to shout. Or hit her. or make another threat. But I didn't do any of those things. I just smirked instead. I walked slowly forward.

Low and dangerous, I said. "Alright. I won't just tell you, my love...I'll show you."
