FIVE: NEW BEGINNING

Mrs. Anderson stared earnestly at her daughter," This is unlike you Mia, you would have joined me here for a little chit-chat before heading into your room, what's wrong baby?

" Is Luca still bothering you ? . She asked gently.

Mia gave a tired smile in return. She met her mum in the sitting room, she passed her because she lacked the strength to stop and talk.

Am fine mum, it's been a long day for me in the office, I just need some rest she said and headed upstairs.

Mrs. Anderson furrowed her brows, something was wrong with her, is it just work?

Mia got to her room and slammed the door behind her.

"That pervert, must he ruin her day? Just by showing his face ! " she said and hissed loudly.

She took her bath and lay on her bed

A knock from the door jotted her from her thoughts, the door creaked open and her father entered.

The atmosphere was silent for a while, then it got tense, Mia frowned.

Mr Anderson brought out a file and placed it in front of Mia while he sat at the edge of the bed.

Mia opened it with her eyes on her father "What's going on" she thought.

She frowned as she read through the content.

" What " her breath hitched.

A marriage contract with the CEO of her dad's company was rumored heard how brutal the Alessandro family is, so why would he marry her off to a family like that . " she flipped to the last page and she nearly felt her life flashing in front of her.

He signed the contract already, without her consent!

" Who does that?" she yelled.

Trust me I don't want this also, but I have to go on with it for the company " he muttered with his head bowed.

" That darn company, when will you ever learn to put your family first, when will this madness end " she yelled.

" It's not even your company to begin with, you are an employee and you have sacrificed so much for it , I wouldn't have thought you would go this far " she yelled again.

Mia I'm building a future for you, I am doing all this for you " he said.

I don't want to hear your excuses, I will not go on with this marriage " she snapped, rising from the bed

As she stomped out of the house, she could only think of one place, Bianca's place, her best friend she bade down a taxi and climbed in , she couldn't afford to drive herself.

She entered the apartment and she could hear noise coming from the bathroom, so she headed towards it, the door was slightly ajar.

Luca and Bianca were inside the bathtub playing with soapy water.

Mia rubbed her face well " She is daydreaming right ".

" Her best friend with her ex-boyfriend".

Mia covered her mouth and took steps backward, she broke into a run as she ran downstairs.

The drive home felt longer than usual, she felt like she was in a daze and her head refused to process what she had just seen.

She knew what awaited her at home, but there was nowhere to run to.

" You finally found yourself a wife Leonardo guess you were afraid of impeachment " Mia heard a voice as she opened her eyes slowly from the hospital bed.

She has been lying there in the hospital bed for hours after she fainted at the after-party.

She heard Leonardo chuckle.

" You raising the issue of me being impotent to the company board, isn't enough reason for impeachment, dear uncle, I just wanted to satisfy my mother's wishes," Leonardo said.

And a loud laugh followed.

" If you would excuse me, Alberto, I would like to attend to my wife, Leonardo said and walked inside where Mia was lying.

Mia looked at Leonardo and she could tell he had a lot to say.

" Get your acts together Mrs Mia Alessandro, we have a long way to go," he said loud enough for his uncle to hear.
