Chapter 2 Bella

I own a ladies only fashion house while Dell owns a textile industry which makes us business partners since she supplies fabrics for my company. We've been friends since middle school. She was always two classes ahead of me. Our parents have always known each other way before we were even born. Our parents have always had each others' backs when it comes to investments and maintaining their friendships. I joined the same high school as Dell later on where she took care of me until she was done. After graduating from high school she stayed out for two years so that we could join uni at the same time as me. Her parents were against it, she had a big fight about it but she just wouldn't back out. That's just how thick-skinned my bestie is. After I was finally done with high school we joined the same uni and studied the same course, Bachelor in Fashion design and clothing technology.

After we were done with uni, our parents set up business for us and left it up to us to manage them. It was hard at first since customers needed to know if we were trustable and if we really could do a good job. Getting workers was not easy either. Not many people are ready to risk working for new companies just because they are flashy and new. After a while everything worked just wonderful. During uni we had joined a modelling agency which went wonderful since we got really popular and successful even before we were done with school. Luckily we never felt pressured by our parents about what they wanted u s to do since all they wanted was us to make our own paths and mold our futures.

Our friendship never wavered even a bit since we all appreciated each other's success and always happy for each other. I find her the most beautiful and successful girl I have ever met. With her extroverted personality. She casually looks like she just walked out of a magazine with her flawless skin and a pear body type. Long natural hair that stresses the hell out of her every time it needs washing and a silk press. We never allow our agency to handle our hair so we do it ourselves mostly or just go to a salon. She is 5 foot 5 tall which is just slightly taller than me but just wont shut up about it. She walks around with this expensive walk that attracts a lot of attention in a good way. She smiles at people which makes her look so approachable.

Today I have an interview for a pattern drafter who resigned after getting a job abroad so I posted a job vacancy online . I call Luke to take me to work. As I enter the company, Cate (my secretary )is there waiting for me to tell me about my schedule for the day as we walk towards the interview room. Not many people can handle being a pattern drafter since no imperfections are allowed. Only 5 interviewees showed up.

It won't be hard to choose since there's only 5 of them. Cate hands them the tools they need to use during pattern drafting and the designs they are supposed to work on. They need to work on them in a span of 3 hours only since time is money. The design is one that I recently dropped. Very elegant and classy , one that could be worn in a formal event or maybe wedding. It's quite long and has a slit mid left thigh with long sleeves and a v neckline . It has panel lines but doesn't have a side seam. and also a giant bow at the back. I sit in the room as I take a cup of hibiscus tea Cate made me. She's just the best secretary ever.

One after the other they submit their patterns. Some look confident, others look just neutral but none of them look unsure. I tell them to go to the cafeteria as I analyze their patterns and choose the best. It takes a while to analyze them but I like to give results on the same day and in person. There's one interviewee who has remarkable work. No flaws, just perfect and perfectly on scale. It's quite impressive. His name is Dew Gavin. I will have to say he looks kinda familiar. And really good looking and neat. Well he has to start working right away since we are falling behind a little bit for the few weeks i haven't had a pattern drafter. Since I have nothing to do I will be the one showing him around. Damn he's really tall, I feel so small under his piercing eyes.
