Chapter 4 Unsettling Revelations

Rachel's heart raced as she approached the solitary stone tower, whose jagged form was barely apparent against the setting light. Here lived Seraphina Moonshadow, the Alpha Queen and famous sorceress. She was a powerful and mysterious figure. Rachel had heard rumors about what she could do, but now that she was standing in front of the old stone archway, she wasn't sure she was ready to learn what she may find out.

Before she could knock, the door creaked open. Seraphina was there right away, and her pale blue eyes were as piercing as a hawk's, looking at her with a chilly detachment.

"You're here for answers, aren't you?" Seraphina's voice was low and soft, as if she had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Rachel nodded and swallowed the lump in her throat. "I need to know what's going on with me." These visions... they don't add up.

Seraphina waved her in, and her long, flowing robe followed her like a shadow. There was a fragrance of old herbs and burning incense in the room.

Seraphina's voice broke the silence as she remarked, "You are entangled in a prophecy, Ymir." "A prophecy that will tell you more about yourself than you want to know."

Rachel's breath caught. "Prophecy?"

The colour of Seraphina's eyes changed. "The cult will do anything to get you, Luna." You are the key to their strength.

Rachel's chest felt heavy with the weight of the words. When she stepped back, her legs shook. "I can't be a part of this." I don't even know who I am anymore.

Seraphina's lips turned into a faint smile. "You may not know it yet, but you were always meant to be." You can't escape who you are, Ymir.

Rachel remained still, the sound of those words echoing in her head as she realised how dangerous her situation was.

Rachel strolled through the busy hallways of the university, and Seraphina's words were like a thick cloud in her head. She didn't want any of this. She just wanted to start over and get away from the past that tormented her. But suddenly, the weight of prophecy was on her, like the force of gravity.

As she walked, she felt like the walls were chanting her name and that others were watching her. The feeling of being watched had never gone away; it had just gotten stronger. Every step made her body stiffen up. She attempted to shake it off, but the more she fought it, the more it pulled her in.

Rachel turned a corner and almost hit Luka. His black eyes met hers, and for a minute, it seemed as if the world around them disappeared. He looked at her closely, as if he could see through her and understood something she hadn't yet.

Luka murmured softly, "I know you're hiding something from me, Ymir." His voice was low and almost kind. "And I want to know what it is."

Rachel stopped moving. She couldn't catch her breath. She hadn't informed anyone, not even Alistair, about the bizarre visions and the sense that she was linked to something sinister. How would he know?

Luka stepped closer, making it hard for her to answer. She could feel the heat of his body and how focused he was on her. It made her feel something she couldn't understand, a mix of terror and fascination.

"Why are you so set on keeping your secrets?" Luka enquired, his voice barely above a whisper.

The tension between them got thicker, and Rachel could feel it like a crackling energy that made her skin quiver with awareness. She wasn't sure whether she was ready to deal with what Luka may find out. But she knew that soon she wouldn't have a choice.

The air surrounding Rachel felt electrified, like it was about to shock her. Before either of them said anything, she could feel the tension between Luka and Mika. Their eyes seemed like they were in a quiet struggle, each trying to get her attention in some way.

Her pulse raced as she looked back and forth between the two brothers. Both were incredibly attractive, and they both had their unique charm. But the fact that they were competing with each other made her uneasy.

Mika came forward and looked Rachel in the eye. "Stay away from Luka," he urged in a low voice that sounded deadly. "You don't know what you're getting into."

Rachel stepped back, feeling stuck between the two. "I'm not in any competition," she answered, attempting to keep her voice steady.

Mika's eyes narrowed, and they looked deadly. "You don't have to be. But you will be. "One way or another."

The words hung in the air like a menace, yet there was more to them than that. She could feel it, like an unseen string that connected her to both of them and pulled her in separate directions. She wanted to run away from the storm that was brewing between them, but it was evident that she couldn't.

Rachel's heart raced as Mika got closer. Her instincts told her to stay away, but the bond between them-between all three of them-was too strong to ignore. And for the first time, she understood that she might be the key to something far bigger than herself.

Rachel walked around her dorm room, her heart beating as she thought about how she had talked to Luka and Mika. There was a connection between them that went beyond merely being attracted to each other physically. It was more basic and deeper. But that scared her. She couldn't let herself fall for one of them because of the prophecy that was hanging over her head.

She looked at her phone and thought about it for a second. Just with the dozens of messages before it, Luka's message lit up the screen. "We need to have a chat. "Tonight." Her heart raced. What was it about him that made her think about him all the time?

Her head was full with questions. She couldn't ignore how much she wanted Luka, but something about Mika-his intense brooding-made her nervous. She didn't think she would be so interested in their world, let alone their fight. She felt like she was stuck between two forces that she couldn't control.

A quiet rap on the door broke her train of thought. Rachel opened the door and saw Luka standing there. His presence was nearly too much for her.

Luka continued, "I've been waiting for you," his voice low and smooth, and his gaze held hers like a magnet.

Rachel stepped back to attempt to calm down. "I don't know what you want from me, Luka."

He looked less angry as he got closer to her, narrowing the gap between them. "I don't want to fight this anymore, Rachel." I want you.

She couldn't breathe, and a shudder ran down her spine. Her heart raced as she murmured, "You don't understand." "We're playing with fire," this...

Luka leaned out and lightly brushed a piece of hair away from her face. "You don't have to fight this, Ymir." "We belong together."

Rachel felt a shudder run through her when he touched her, and she wanted to pull away, but she couldn't. The draw was too great.

Rachel attempted to forget about the turmoil, but her mind kept going back to the unusual connection she had with the boys. But that night, when she went through the empty streets, she felt a chill. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following her.

She made a fast turn at the corner, hoping to lose whoever was following her, but there was no doubt about it. The cult was back.

A person with a mask showed up in front of them, their shape barely visible in the low light. Rachel's stomach sank. How did they find her so quickly?

She walked faster since the footsteps behind her were getting louder. The cult didn't stop, and she couldn't keep escaping forever.

"Rachel Bloodrose," a voice snarled as the stranger got closer. The mask obscured the face. "You can't run away forever, Luna." It's almost time for you to accept your fate.

Rachel froze, and her body reflexively pulled back. The words of the cultist were like ice. Luna? Was that her real name? The mention of it made her feel sick with fear.

"I-I don't know what you want from me," she continued, her voice shaking.

The figure moved closer, and the mask made their eyes shine. "You already know what we want. And you can't get away from who you are, Rachel.

The cultist retreated into the darkness before she could do anything. She was left alone, her heart racing in her chest.
