Chapter 3 Deal of Vengeance

In the dream,

Donna saw herself slowly running toward her,

bewilderment written all over her face, her voice rising uncontrollably.

"Why are you living in my body?"

"Who are you?"

The question was vague, but Donna understood the meaning behind it.

She blinked, vaguely explaining.

"My name is Donna. Don't be hostile, because I myself don't know what is going on."

"I was pushed down the stairs and passed away, about a few days ago."

"When I came back, I thought I'd been given a new beginning, but I don't know why I ended up living inside your body."

Donna blinked again, quietly recounting the events of her previous life to the girl.

She listened intently, then finally curled her lips and cursed in anger.

"Truly disgusting. Men really are all the same."

The words were a little too sweeping, not entirely fair, but Donna stayed silent, choosing not to argue.

"He might even be worse than my bastard fiancé."

She clicked her tongue, sighing, before slowly sharing her own past life with Donna.

It was then that Donna learned her name was Bonnie.

She was the eldest daughter of a billionaire family,

raised in wealth,

a true heiress.

But she had been deeply obsessed with Randor, her fiancé, a vile man.

He exploited Bonnie to build his company into success, yet betrayed her with his secretary, even fathering a child with her.

He longed to be with that secretary so badly, yet couldn't bear to part with the vast fortune of Bonnie's family.

So he continued to conceal the truth, deceiving Bonnie into marriage.

"And then that bastard told me he was in the final stage of kidney failure, that he needed a transplant to survive."

"And my kidney was a perfect match."

Bonnie thought of the past, rage swelling until veins stood out across her forehead. She let out a bitter laugh.

"I was foolish enough to agree to donate my kidney, never realizing it was all just Randor's scheme to have me die on the operating table."

"After that, my parents, stricken with grief, grew careless and were killed in a car accident."

"My younger sister was left helpless, with nowhere to turn."

"Randor even used his status as her brother-in-law to force her to quit school, marrying her off to an old billionaire who already had three ex-wives."

"In the end, after clashing with that billionaire's lover, my sister fell from a high floor and died not long after."

As Bonnie spoke, tears streamed down her beautiful face, her heart clenching with anguish.

"In the end, that foolish husband Randor conveniently inherited my family's massive fortune, living happily ever after with his mistress and their illegitimate child."

"I cannot accept that."

Bonnie clenched her fists tightly. Donna, hearing of Bonnie's tragic fate, could only sigh.

Indeed, it was just as painful and pitiful as her own.

Both of them had died in misery because of a vile man.

"Perhaps fate saw our suffering as alike, and because of the depth of our hatred, it brought us back into this world. We cannot waste this chance."

Donna gave Bonnie's hand a gentle squeeze, offering comfort. Bonnie nodded. Fate had given her a chance to start again, and she would not repeat her mistakes.

"But it seems we cannot switch back anymore. What should we do now?"

Bonnie sighed, clearly distressed.

She could not return to her original body, how could she carry out her revenge?

"We can make a deal."

"Help each other take revenge on the scum, and live the happy lives we were meant to have."

Donna turned toward Bonnie, nodding slightly.

They might not be able to exact their vengeance alone, but together they could cooperate and support one another.

If fate wished to mock them, then they would still face it head-on.

Bonnie's eyes lit up as if a truth had suddenly dawned on her. She nodded repeatedly, then clasped Donna's hand.

"Exactly. We can help each other, darling."

Having found their direction, they began to plan.

Bonnie recounted to Donna in detail the timeline of the events that had taken place in her previous life.

About the relationships around them, who was good, who was bad, who could be trusted.

Donna did the same.

And they shared with each other their plans for revenge.

They sat together for a very, very long time, until every word was spoken, and their eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Here's to our successful cooperation."

"Let's keep meeting often to update each other."

"If not in dreams, then in real life."

Bonnie suggested cheerfully. Donna nodded.

The plan had begun.

...

When Donna woke up, the corner of her lips curved into a cold smile.

Ah, from now on, she had to call herself Bonnie.

And in that joyful moment, she once again saw the ugly face of Randor.

"..."

Her pleasant mood vanished in an instant.

But she swallowed down the curse that rose in her heart, forcing herself to appear gentle and win Randor over.

"Randor, you came to see me?"

"How wonderful, you still think of me."

She blinked, pretending to look at him shyly, with none of the sharpness she had shown the day before.

Randor sneered with contempt.

"Didn't you just chase me out yesterday, shouting that you didn't need me to come back?"

"What now? You suddenly changed your mind?"

He glared at Bonnie.

"Such a good actress."

"If my parents hadn't called me, demanding I come to the hospital and take care of you, I wouldn't have bothered."

Bonnie clenched her fists, suppressing the urge to strike him, pretending to be shy, her voice growing sweeter as she tried to please him.

"How could I ever drive you away?"

"It's just... You loving someone else hurt me so deeply, I couldn't accept it, so I spoke nonsense."

"Randor, you know I love you so bad."

"How could I possibly live without you?"

Bonnie batted her eyes at Randor as she spoke.

It was only a lie, and who didn't know how to lie?

At worst, once this bastard left, she could just throw up later.

Randor, however, completely believed this frail, bashful display of Bonnie's, satisfied as he stroked her hair.

"Good."

"As long as you don't make trouble, I can still forgive you."

In Randor's eyes, Bonnie was still useful. That was why he couldn't bring himself to let her go.

"The matter with Fallon was just a misunderstanding."

"She seduced me, but I didn't care for her at all, rest assured."

"I'll settle this properly..."

Randor's tone softened as he offered an explanation, but Bonnie could barely hear a word.

She sneered coldly inside.

If it weren't for the provocative photo Fallon had sent her earlier, perhaps Bonnie's naïve self would have been deceived again.

But not her - Donna.

This bastard truly knew how to lie.

Didn't care for Fallon? Yet Fallon had a photo of herself in bed with him, while he lay sleeping in satisfied bliss?

Only Fallon's seduction?

But somehow the two of them ended up in bed together?

What, did Fallon stumble into Randor while walking, and they just happened to sleep together?

Was he trying to trick a child?

Disgusting!

Bonnie secretly curled her lips in disdain, but outwardly pretended to be delighted.

"Really? I knew it, Randor, you only love me..."

Seeing that Bonnie had calmed down, Randor lost his patience with coaxing. He casually stroked her cheek, muttered a few meaningless words, then reminded her,

"Don't forget, next week our engagement ceremony will be held."

"Stop thinking about shameless people like Fallon, she's not worth it."

"Prepare yourself well, so the ceremony can be as perfect as possible."

Randor stressed.

"The media is very interested in our engagement..."

His words made Bonnie's eyes gleam.

Very interested, were they?

That made it all the more entertaining.

Her gaze toward Randor grew even gentler, though deep inside a spark of excitement flickered.

"Alright, I understand."

"I'll prepare well."

By then, she would also give Randor a very big, very unexpected gift.

Bonnie added silently to herself.

Randor, his interest already fading, patted Bonnie's head with a smile.

"Good. Now rest."

"The corporation has much to deal with. I need to take care of it."

With that, he left without a second glance.

Finally, Bonnie allowed herself to relax.

She silently cursed Randor with every vile word she knew, only then feeling satisfied enough to lie back down.

Her mind, however, was already at work, turning over where the plan should begin.
