~Dana~
Dana sat on the outside of the Mooncrest pack on a threshold step. Her shoulders slumped and her eyes were vacant. She swayed her body slowly, back and forth her thoughts wandering to how her life had been in Mooncrest's pack, "why does Ethan look overly suspicious?" " Is there any way he must have found out about her?" "Or could it be that someone told him about her?" " But who?."Her heart flinched as she thought about the person who might have said something about her-the worker. Her eyes widened, her body tensed in panic and she etched up a bit. "Are you okay? " a deep voice came from behind. Ethan strode slowly as he walked down the threshold stair, his eyes peering into Dana In inquisitiveness. He made his way to sit down by the side of Dana leaving a small space between them. Dana tried to steady herself, she inhaled deeply. "You don't look okay," Ethan leaned forward, his eyes scanning through Dana's face. "I'm okay," Dana replied, averting her gaze from Ethan. Deep silence lingered in the air for a moment as both Dana and Ethan watched the sunset in intense Curiosity. Dana's mind wandered to Alden, she wondered if he ever missed her even if it was just a bit. How is he faring? Has he found another mate? She misses him so much and hoped he would change his mind, maybe one day he would come looking for her and they would be that Alpha and Luna that would rule Silvercrest together, just like Alden had said. She closed her eyes tightly and squeezed her palms, pushing those thoughts to go away to the back of her mind, because they might never really happen. It's the past and she has to live in the present and go through what life has already thrown at her. As she turned slowly to look at Ethan, she caught his eyes staring deeply at her. Her stomach quivered and her eyes darted trying to look away from Ethan. "Were you daydreaming?" Ethan asked, tilting his head to the side, and he arched his brow. "No.., not at all," Dana chuckled. She must find a way to hide this habit of wallowing inside her thoughts, she thought to herself. "If you say so," Ethan shrugged. Ethan cleared his throat and focused his gaze on Dana, "So, Dana..." He hesitated, shifting his gaze from Dana. Dana's body tensed wondering what Ethan might want to talk about in all his seriousness. Ethan's eyes darted back to Dana, and he continued"Please be honest with me, do you not remember how you were lost in the woods?" Dana shifted her gaze away from him immediately, her heart froze, and her stomach quivered. Why does the he always have to bring this up all the time, should she even tell him the truth yet, what will be the consequences? she thought to herself. Her eyes darted slowly back to Ethan, she clasped her hands together on her lap," I wish I do." Her eyes were vacant, for how long does she have to cover up her lies? Silence fills the air again. Ethan cleared his throat, his gaze darted to Dana, "Have you ever been in love?." Dàna froze midway as her mind could not understand why he just asked that question all of a sudden. Should she say yes? Her mind panicked. No", she said softly. She has been in love but the one person she gave her heart to broke it and lied against her. The one person whom she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. The one person that she put her trust in. Her first love gave him her all, yet he didn't believe her when people lied against her, he couldn't stand up for her. Dana tightened her fist, her heart flinched in pain, and her eyes stared into space. She tried to force back the tears at the back of her eyes. Ethan's Deep voice cut through, "I have never been in love too... Well I once fell in love, she was my heart...but she betrayed me." Ethan said those last words his voice filled with hurt. "I guess we always fall out with our first love," Dana sighed. Ethan realized what she just said and looked at her inquisitively. His brow came close together as he drew his body back. Dana looked at him and wondered why he was looking at her like that and then she realized what she had just said, "Oh, I meant people always fall out with their first love... Like they said; Your First love is just your soulmate and not your real love.. I guess they were right," She chuckled. Ethan bobbed his head to the side, his brow squinted, "Wait, Are you trying to mock me?" Dana threw her hands up in mock surrender, "No...no.. no... I don't mean to." Ethan chuckled, "But I guess you were right though." Dana burst out laughing and Ethan joined in the laughter. Their stifle of laughter rose harmoniously echoing through the walls of the Mooncrest pack. They both stopped abruptly and they turned facing each other, their shoulders heightened. Ethan's eyes fluttered, his eyes peering at Dana like he was looking at something adorable, "There is just something about you... Something different, ... You're different... good kind of difference." Dana's eyes fluttered, and her stomach quivered, what did he mean by that, and why was he staring at her like that? She thought.
