Episode 4: The Confrontation
Ananya's conversation with Ria had left her feeling unsettled. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Vicky was hiding something from her. She decided to confront him, to get to the bottom of things. As she walked into their apartment, she saw Vicky sitting on the couch, staring at his phone. "Hey, can we talk?" she asked, her voice firm but controlled. Vicky looked up, a hint of wariness in his eyes. "What's up, babe?" Ananya sat down beside him, her eyes locked onto his. "I know something's going on, Vicky. I can feel it. You're distant, and those mysterious calls...I need to know what's going on." Vicky's expression changed, his eyes flashing with anger. "There's nothing going on, Ananya. You're just being paranoid." Ananya's heart sank. She knew she wasn't imagining things. "Don't lie to me, Vicky. I deserve the truth." She took a deep breath, her voice shaking slightly. "I love you, but I need to know what's going on. Are you having an affair? Are you in trouble?" Vicky's face turned red, and he stood up, pacing around the room. "You're just being dramatic, Ananya. There's nothing to worry about." Ananya felt a lump form in her throat. She knew she was getting close to the truth, but Vicky's denial was suffocating her. "Stop lying to me, Vicky. I can see it in your eyes. You're hiding something." The air was thick with tension as Vicky's mask began to slip. Ananya could see the cracks in his facade, and she knew she was getting close to the truth. But just as she thought she was about to uncover the secrets, Vicky's phone rang, shrill and insistent. "Excuse me," Vicky said, his voice cold. "I need to take this." Ananya watched as Vicky answered the call, his back turned to her. She couldn't hear what he was saying, but she saw the tension in his body, the way his eyes darted around the room. As Vicky hung up the call, Ananya knew she had to make a decision.
