Flash Returns........
Still taking a deep breath, the rain had subsided, she stood up, dusting off the sand off her dress, even though it made no significant change.
She didn't hear them come close or from afar. She stood up, turning to leave, when she was stunned to the ground. There he stood in his might, his face laced with an evil smirk, ready to pounce on her and tear her into shreds.
She stumbled back, her face stricken with fear, she could pee on herself. This was it, it was over and done with. She was done for.
"Adoni...s" she murmured, her eyes still fixed on him. Her heart hammered against the walls of her chest.
"You thought you could run...but darling... You can run...." he leaned over. She couldn't see his face but a silhouette of his face under the night sky. She bet he was handsome, as his perfect jawline couldn't escape the light that cast its beams on her.
"You monster!!!! You killed my parents! Do you think that your revolution would work on me?". She tried to be strong, she was already scared like a drenched fowl in the batting rain. The droplets soon increased as it began to rain vigorously.
"I know so. And your parents were a hindrance to our joy." He said rather calmly, his voice soothing like that of a demon. This war was the first time she heard his voice, with his visits to the pack. It had always been his spokesperson who had done the talking, she had even concluded he was a dumb Alpha of the Red Moon Pack and ceased to give him an audience despite their parents' warnings.
"And you think that justifies your wicked act for me to marry you?" She fired back.
She couldn't tell with his expressionless face, in its silhouette form, but she knew he was pissed at her further resistance, he had tried to weaken her stronghold, but it instead added to the already burning fire.
"I want you." He stated simply,
"Well, sorry to say, but I do not belong to you but Princeton. I will devote my entire life to him because he is the only one that I have ever loved. Not you! Not even....." Before she could complete her statement, he slammed his hand palm on her face, bruising her lips. She fell to the ground on fire by the impulse.
She clutched her fist as she spit out the blood from the cut on her lips from the impact of his hand on her face.
"How dare you mention another man right in front of me." He spat out in anger, as he unsheathed his sword at her, resting it on her neck,
"Why? Here!" Lia drew her dress, showing him her neck where Princeton had bitten her, and marked her as his mate. His eyes raged in anger, and she furrowed his glaring gaze at her.
"What insolence!!!" He snapped, this time around, gagging Lia's throat as she struggled for her life.
"What are you going to do with me, Alpha Adonis of the Red Moon Pack?" Her voice laced with challenge, as if daring him to do his worst, forgetting how heartless Adonis can be, he sentenced his own mother to death after she connived with some elders to bring his rule to an end.
Yes. He was that heartless. So Lia was nothing to him. He had salted a lot with his sword, as a punishment for disobeying his rules.
She had defiled his orders and went ahead to be marked by Princeton.
"Well, you are of no use to me, right?" He tells her as he raises his sword high.
Lia stood there on her knees, there was no way she could go, she was scared, her soul had literally left her body even before he raised the sword.
Just as he was about to unlive her, she yelled,
"I'm Pregnant!!!!!!" then broke down in tears,
"I can't let you kill my unborn child, Adonis. So, please....I know you cannot accept me as a mate but take me as your prisoner." She says as the tears fall freely down her cheeks.
The sword that Adonis had raised was stopped in mid-air, his face expressionless. It appeared for a moment that he was weighing her words. However, after snarling for some time, he lowered his sword again and put it back where it belonged.
"Do you really think a child can save you?" he said contemptuously in such a way that his voice dripped with disdain." And you think I will not kill you because you are pregnant?
Lia shook her head while tears streamed down her cheeks." No, I just...I do not want my baby to die. Adonis, please don't kill me.
"
Adonis refused, as he felt a rage build up inside of him. Raising his sword higher, a voice echoed in his head. "Only when your fated mate falls in love with you, then will you be set free from the curse that held you in bondage,"
Adonis squinted at her, heaving a sigh as if trying to resist an internal spirit, "Very well," he finally said.
He turned toward his pack who had been observing everything from the shadows." Get her," he growled.
"Take her straight to the dungeons," he ordered. "I'll see what happens to her later! Now! I'll decide whether she lives or not."
In an unplanned move while he was still addressing them, she looked into Adonis' eyes." You can never win Adonis," she said through clenched teeth." Princeton is coming for me, and he will surely defeat you."
Adonis' smile turned frosty with calculation. Let's see about this," he said, and with it came a wicked glint into his eyes.
Lia saw through the pack just a little bit and caught sight of Adonis, whose face was twisted in an ugly expression as they dragged her away.
