ALAANA'S POV
Alaana..." Rylan's voice was low and shaky, his anger barely holding back. "What is the meaning of this?"
William jolted awake at the sound of Rylan's voice, eyes wide in shock. He stood up, his hands trembling as he realized the gravity of the situation. His position as an Omega Servant meant that even if he was in my room, he could be severely punished.
I stood up and then sat down again, despite the storm of emotions raging inside me. "Rylan, I..."
Rylan interrupted, stepping in. "You were supposed to be my future Luna! And I find you here-with him?"
William flinched at the venom in Rylan's voice, his eyes falling to the floor as if he could make himself invisible.
"Do you even understand what you've done? You humiliated me, Alaana. You humiliated yourself. And you have also put him in trouble," he pointed sharply at William, "in danger."
Williams shuddered, but didn't say a word. He did not dare. His heart pounded, I reached back and touched William's arm, calmly encouraging him.
Rylan shook his head, his brow furrowed. "This... this isn't over." You made your choice, Alaana . Now you have to deal with the consequences."
Rylan's eyes narrowed, his anger turning into a colder and more calculated one. "Oh, don't worry. The Pack will know exactly who to blame. Both of you."
With that, Rylan stormed out of the room.
The sound of the door slamming echoed through the room, leaving a heavy silence behind it. William's hands were shaking now,I stared at him, my expression soft.
William,I said, reaching out and squeezing his hand. "I'm sorry."
He shook his head, invisible. "No need to apologize, Princess Alaana." I... I don't know what's going to happen now."
I clenched my fists, my resolve growing. "Whatever happens, I'm not going to let you get hurt."
William looked up, his eyes filled with fear and admiration. "I... I don't want you to get hurt either, Princess Alaana."
I smiled weakly, though my heart was heavy. "We're going to figure this out together."with that, William left the room.
The room fell into an agonizing silence, the weight of what had happened heavy in my chest.i know this was far from over. Rylan will not let this slide-not as the future Alpha, not as my supposed Mate, and certainly not as a man whose pride had just been shattered. The pack would hear of this.
I was trembling as my wolf clawed at my chest in fear and defiance, knowing the cost of what I had just done.
A gentle knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts, making me startle.I took a deep breath, steadying myself before calling out, "Yes? Come in."
A maid, from my father's quarter, stepped in bowing her head, as she approached me. "Princess Alaana, Alpha King, has requested that you come see him now!."
Her words sent a chill through me, though I nodded in silent acknowledgment. This was expected, Rylan had informed my father about it.
I walked slowly to my father's chamber, on getting there I slowly pushed the door with fear of what's going to happen next.
The atmosphere inside was far from warm. Rylan Stood before him, his expression tense but unwavering. The Alpha King sat rigid in his throne, his fingers drumming against the armrest in a rhythm that betrayed his brewing storm of emotions.
The disappointment in his face was a stormcloud, dark and ominous, swirling with anger and disbelief.
The Alpha King stared at me for a long, heavy moment, his gaze on me. Then, finally, he spoke, his voice low and laden with disappointment.
"Do you realize what you've done?" he asked, his voice deceptively calm, warning of a storm brewing below.
"I-" I began, but he cut me off with a raised hand.
"You have disgraced me. You have insulted this Pack. Do you think you are above the responsibilities of your rank? To be found with that Omega-a slave? Even if he is your Mate" His voice rose with each word, his anger bleeding.
My jaw clenched and I didn't answer for a moment. Then, I said quietly, "It wasn't intentional..."
The Alpha king laughter was cold and humorless. "It wasn't intentional ? Why didn't you control yourself? Because from where I stand, it looks like you've not only betrayed this Pack, but also disgraced your position as the next Luna."
I opened my mouth, but he cut me off again. "You know what the Pack members will say? That the Alpha King watches over his subordinates! That I am too weak to rule my own house!" He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a deathly wail. "I cannot tolerate such stupidity. You will stop this... whatsoever it is, immediately. And for that Omega servant, he will be seriously dealt with."
No!" I choked out the word, unable to resist. "You can't punish him... it was my fault, I was the one who called him".
"Because of your mistake?" The Alpha King said, his eyes filled with anger. " I will punish him. Don't test me, Alaana."
He straightened, his voice rising like steel. "Prove to me that you deserve the title of Luna and Reject that Omega Servant. And get Married to Rylan as planned.Or lose everything- your heritage, your title as my child-and face defiance problems. choose wisely."
I frozed, my father's words shaking me like ice. married to Rylan. After seeing my Mate. Or I lose everything... Every word flowed through my mind, becoming heavier and heavier, as if the weight of the world was pressing down on me.
"Alpha King doesn't mean what he is saying, don't be scared".My Wolf said trying to comfort me. The room seemed cooler now, the golden light from the lamp replaced by a suffocating feeling. My father's voice, familiar but now distant, rang like a knife in my heart.
On the day i found my Mate, I was supposed to be the happiest person I've ever been. I waited for years, when others found their Mate, I was always left with nothing but hope.Being the daughter of the Alpha King made it worse. Expectations weighed on me like chains -finding a mate strong enough to be the next Alpha King, someone who could stand beside me when I become the next Luna.
But the Moon Goddess had other plans.
My eyes stared up at my father, distant and cold, his golden eyes filled with anger and rage. I always admired his energy, his unwavering commitment for the Pack. But now, as I stood in front of him, it was as if I'm looking at a stranger-sick, cruel, and unable to understand the words of his mind.
How could he ask this of me? To Reject the bond that had awakened something deep within my soul? To marry Rylan, a man who I only agreed to get married to because I couldn't find a Mate? The thought was unbearable, a betrayal of my own heart, I felt powerless. Torn between duty and desire.
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I refused to spill them. Not here. Not in front of him.
