Chapter 5 LAGOS

"Hello, is everything ready?" Willis asked on a call.

"Yes, we've gotten the location of his suite and i guess he'll arrive soon. It's a scheduled 12 hour journey" The gang leader reassured from the other end.

"Cool, I trust you'll carry out the task flawlessly as ordered. You are to kill him before he gets to his suite. The security there is very tight and almost impenetrable"

"Yes boss, trust me"

Willis smiled, Nigerians are more competent than he thought. He was introduced to an Ikorodu gang in less than one hour and they are fully ready to deliver, as long as his pay was okay. He doesn't slack in his payment.

"Adrian Smith, this is your end. This is when you die" He laughed out loudly.

"Is it done yet?" The other guy asked

"Not yet, but soon"

"Then there's no reason to rejoice yet, I want good news"

He said with an ugly grin.

"Can't believe I'm seeing a thousand one things not in order" He complained to himself as he walked out ot the airport.

He was definitely not a racist. He loved black people but he hate people in general. They don't keep to laws and lack orderliness.

"Where is my suite" He asked Joy

"Iko-ro-du" she looked at him trying hard not to laugh as she struggled with the pronunciation. She knew she could joke around here. Adrian would not fire here, where would he find an incompetent foreign secretary in Nigeria.

"Mother can be unbelievable at times"

This was not his first time in Nigeria, but this time he'll be staying a lot more than a three hour business meeting.

One of his personal guard opened the door for him. As he stepped into the car and looked outside the car glass. He felt at peace. A peace he couldn't define, somehow the thought of a vacation thrilled him. He'll have some time to reflect and think about his life. He'll also use this opportunity to level up his investigations. There were a lot of stuff he wasn't okay with and he would get to tge bottom of it.

He saw the beautiful and exterior estates.

"Nothing like LA" He gasped, but still good.

The noise from the club houses, people selling food by the road side and every where was just noisy to him.

"Look at them having fun and enjoying their lives. They don't have to meet up a certain expectation on a daily. They can be themselves." He thought sweetly but changed immediately

"That's how they watch poverty creep in. What's fun here, no power, no loaded bank account. Just simple peasants living an expensive life"

As his gaze fell upon the littered street, he sighed

"Unbelievable, how can and city with so much potentials be wasting enough resources A wise business man should make do of this opportunity"

Joy looked at him, he was lost in thoughts and it was funny and fun to look at.

"Joy, come to think of it, safety should be a paramount discipline here, these road are too hazardous for my liking"

Joys heart made a skip. He just spoke to her about a non related topic. Her heart fluttered, it was happening. What she longed hope for

"Yes sir, I agree" She said with a smile

He didn't say anything but kept observing. Ot was supposed to be a 40 mins ride.He was tired alright and sleepy. But his morals will not let him. What if something happens. Nothing's going to happen but you can never trust anyone. He wasn't sure of his route so he shouldn't relax yet.

It was just him, Joy and his body guard in the car. It was risky but he wanted to be comfortable on his first made ride.

It was 10pm already and Yemi wasn't home. Unlike the other days she would call but today has been different. Granny was scared already, she woke up to a no Yemi at home. What happened to her. Just yesterday, she confided in her about a robber she got into a fight with. Granny was scared. This was more than enough warning to leave this place, it's affecting her in

She picked up her cell phone and called Yemi. Luckily she picked immediately

"Granny I'll call you back lemme drop all my passengers first"She said in a hurry

"But...."

"I'll call you don't worry. I'm almost on my way home" She reassured.

Her boss had left for an urgent call, the bus was handed to her her this evening and she decided to make the most of it. Boss told her to take the everything she'll make this evening. This made her stay out late. She knew it was dangerous, with kidnappers everywhere and one-chance people increasing everyday. One-chance is a popular name for people who kidnap for ritual purposes. But she needed the cash, if she makes a lot of money today it'll definitely increase her savings. She's surprise granny and she'll be more than happy for her.

Soon, she was done. She promised to drive the bus to her boss's place without carrying any other passenger, she refused to die of greed.

She remembered the ordeal of yesterday and smiled.

"All these boys will be claiming cultist, I'll deal with all of them, let them wait and see" she said with a tinge of pride.

Okey sat with his gang boys outside the uncompleted building. They were about 15 in number, but he needed just 3 for this operation. It hasn't been long he got off the call from the foreigner that was linked to him by godfather.

Godfather was a popular Lagos politician. He held a very big post in the senate and was very wealthy. He was ruthless and kidnapped people that stood on his way. Okey and his gang made it possible and easy for him. They had never failed any mission and he bouyantly spend on them. They helped him to get rid of his election opponents and they also help rig ballot boxes in his constituencies.

When Mr Willis his loyal foreigner called him to inquire about a notorious gang. He willingly gave out Okey's contact. He prays it works out very well so he'll have a leach to hold on to Mr Willis. He'll even help influence the result of the murder case.

"We are to get him at a lonely junction"

He wondered why he got a suite in a reserved area and undeveloped area. Unlike the other foreigners he knew and heard about. It was unlike them but at an advantage to him. They'll lie in wait for his car. He's coming in with just a body gaurd, serving as a driver too.

Why would he even do that. Who is this guy and why is he doing everything differently.

In Nigeria. Guys would do anything to kidnap him for ransome and he walks in with no entourage.

Cool!!

He'll make sure to drive a bullet to his stupid dumb skull.

"Obi and Jack, you know how we planned it"

He said to his two second in command.

"Let's push "
