TAMING THE RUDE AMERICAN

It was 6pm already and Adrian would walk in any moment from now and he better be ready to answer to her. She has already created a perfecf punishment for him, one that would alter the course of his life for a moment.

She loved Adrian but she wouldn't let him win this time. He lacked the slightest emotion neither was he willing to stop being selfish.

Sophie had called immediately he left and had explained everything and even more to her about the date ordeal. Adrian had gotten upset over her time of arrival and has used it as an excuse fo leave and go back to work.

She smiled, she can't wait to give him a shocker. A part of her felt bad, he had been saddled with the responsibility of taking care of his family from am early age of 14 after the death of his father. He started working at the company at 16 and at 26, you wouldn't mention top 6 businesses without Smiths conglomerate. He dedicated all his attention to his family and business, making him a workaholic. He has forgotten he has a life to live to put together.

"Mum" Adrian walked up to her giving her a kiss on her forehead. It was a minute past 6pm and she was irritated that he's always so prompt. Even perfection sucks at times.

"Care to explain what happened with Sophia?" Mrs Smith said trying to feign anger. She needed to act strict but Adrian's face wouldn't let her. She lose it anytime he's with her and forgets she was supposed to scold him. But this time, it wouldn't be so. He'll get it hard.

"Nothing, I was just about to say you have a terrible taste in women" Adrian shrugged

"Really, or you've decided to be a dick to them all"

"Words!!! Mother" Adrian was shocked his mum was becoming expletive. Something she'll scold them for.

"I'm sorry, but what went wrong?? I just want you to leave a normal life at some point. You living a lie. I just feel it. Where's my playful, lively and smiling boy?? This is a mask Adrian" Mrs Smith said sadly

"Mum, what are you saying? I act normal with you Mum. The world just doesn't need to see my breaking point. They may take you for a fool. Look what happened to father."

"You are not your father Adrian, you are you. That doesn't stop you from being good and loving and kind to people"

"I'll think about it, right now i need to bathe and have dinner, my time is ticking "

Adrian got up about to leave but his mum had other plans. She wouldn't let him off easily. It's all for his own good.

"Nah. I have a punishment for you. Today's date was the breaking point. I think you need a break from all this. When was the last time you gave yourself a break??" She asked

"On the first of never ary, Adrain. You'll get a vacation, I've booked your ticket. You need time to clear your head and heal properly"

Adrian chuckled. His mum always made jokes but thus was an expensive one.

He should leave his company at the heat of things and go on a vacation. Who does that?

"Mum, you're joking right?"

"I can't leave my company for a vacation, not gonna happen"

"Yes it will. I checked your schedule, you were to leave for Nigeria to close a deal on Thursday "

"Yes a one day trip. Don't tell me you want to send me to Nigeria??"

"I'm already sending you there. You'll stay for three weeks instead. You'll go with Joy. I've booked a suite and I've made everything comfortable for your visit."

"You can't certainly send me to Nigeria Mum, don't you read the news?? I can't stand more than a day in that low societal place." Adrian said scared

"You can and you'd stand for more than three weeks. The company is in safe hands. I'll handle it till you return"

Adrian stared at his mum with unbelief. She was always coming up with new ideas and impossible things. But this was the height of it. The worst part of all this was the fact he'll never disobey his mum, even tho he'd displease himself.

"We got the news from a reliable source that Adrian is leaving for Nigeria tomorrow" Willis said drawing from his pipe.

The other guy stared at him with unbelief, surprised at the fact that he easily got any information he wanted.

"But, why Nigeria???"

"Nigeria sucks, it's a bad vacation idea and I wonder why he'll comply to it" Will said

"We all know if his mum suggest, he's in for it all. But...." The other guy listened with keen interest

"This leaves us to an advantage. I have a few guys over there. We'll put our plans on hold and let them finish him over there. That way his death cause can easily be faked" Willis said with a cunning smile

"You're joking. We know how the Nigerian government makes it careful when it comes to their foreigners. Adrian is no mean man and his death wouldn't go by the books"

" It will, I have a few men in high places. I'll call the shots. Don't worry" Willis said with every iota of confidence.

He was soo sure his plan would walk. The company is his and his alone.

"Opayemi" Okey called as he dropped the gallon of water he had on the ground. It was a very heavy gallon. He carried it either ways. He needed to prove to Yemi he was a strong man and that he was more than capable of winning her over.

"How many times have I warned you to stop bringing water to my house" Yemi came out furiously. She was obviously disguted by his guts and low reasoning.

"This is something i'll never stop doing, if you like beat me, punch me and throw me on the ground. My love for you can endure anything".

"There's nothing you can do that'll make me love you, stop coming to my house else you'll get it very hot one day" Yemi said leaving out to her evening hustle.
