Marriage wasn't what I had planned, even though it was a fake one. Especially not with a dangerous werewolf. Especially not to the creatures that turned my world upside down. The air-conditioning room suddenly felt suffocating. I opened my mouth to talk, and then closed it back. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to do. "Hmmmm," I finally regained my voice. "Contract marriage? I don't think we should do that." I said, shaking my head, my eyes lowered and my hands fisting into my dress as I tried to steady the storm inside me. The room was silent for a while and the only sound I could hear was the pounding of my heart. "You don't want a contract marriage?" he echoed, then let out a sharp, mocking laugh that echoed through the room like a slap. "Thousands of women would kill for the chance to be bound to me," he sneered, thumping a fist against his chest with arrogant pride. "And you-" he gestured at me, eyes blazing, "a mere human dare to reject me?" Disbelief twisted his features. His voice dropped, colder now, more dangerous. "You dare refuse Ronan Stormrider?" I clenched my jaw, his condescending words hurting me more than I cared to admit. He had a way with his words that would want to make one slap him if given the chance. "Excuse me," I snapped, my voice sharper than intended. "You shouldn't talk to me like that." Then I remembered the sight of my parents being ripped apart. "I would rather be alone for the rest of my life then be married to you." He didn't say anything. Just looked at me briefly, his expression unreadable and annoyingly calm. "Doctor," he called, shifting his gaze towards her. "I want the baby removed." His voice was final as he stood up, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. My stomach twisted, fear pulsing through my veins. This was death sentence for me. I won't survive it. The doctor shifted uncomfortably in her seat, her pitiful gaze were fixed on me. "Miss. Lisa.... Why don't you just marry him? It's not a real marriage anyways." "Noo... I can't," I whispered, tears blurring my eyes but I forced them back. I can't break down in his presence. "I can't do it. I won't do it." The doctor took my hands in hers. "I understand how overwhelming it can be. I understand that this isn't what you wanted but you have to think about your life." She was right. I have think about my life but then... I might end up dead if I spend any more minutes with a werewolf. Just then the door creaked open. Beta Damon stepped inside, and trailing behind him was a file of three men which I assumed to be his lawyers. They were dressed in corporate black suit, their expression hardened and a briefcase in their hands. I recognised one of the lawyers, a middle aged man with gray hair as a famous and award winning lawyer. He had never lost a case in his fifteen years of practice. "Alpha," Damon said, bowing. He stepped closer to Ronan and said something in his ears that had him nodding. The lawyers also bowed. The doctor sprang to her feet, her eyes widening with fear as she looked at the men. Then her gaze shifted towards Ronan. "Alpha. Ronan...." Her voice was trembling. "I thought we were sorting this out." "Sorting this?" He repeated, smirking devilishly. "We ain't sorting shit. It's better you start with the abortion... then we can talk about the law suit after I know this woman isn't carrying my child." The doctor swallowed hard. Her desperate and pleading eyes fell on me. "Get on it NOW!" He growled, his silver eyes darkening with rage which send cold shivers down my spine. "Alright." She forced a smile. Her fingers hovering over the table phone as she dialed a number. "Get the theatre ready." The moment those words left her mouth, the realization hits me that this was really happening. My life would be over soon if I don't make a decision. This jerk of a man would be forcing the doctor to induce an abortion on me. I closed my eyes, breathing in and out to steady the storm swirling inside me. I bite down on my lower lips as I forced myself to say those words. "I will do it." My voice was surprisingly firm. "I will do the contract marriage or whatever." The doctor heaved in relief, giving me a grateful smile. "It's a good thing that you finally choose what's best for you," Ronan said and I didn't miss the hint of victory in his voice. "My assistant would communicate the details of the contract to you by tomorrow and be ready to move into my home." "Is that necessary? I can stay-" "It's compulsory," he cuts in sharply. "Married couples should stay together, isn't it?" I didn't answer him. He doesn't deserve any words from me. He continued. "Let's leave for now. I will decide if I still want to sue the hospital or not based on Miss Lisa compliance," he says. I clenched my fists. Asshole. He turned away, walking towards the door with his fleet trailing him. Then when he reached the doorway, he looked back. "Don't try to play smart, Miss Lisa," he said in a clipped tone. And with that, he was gone, like he's never been here. Yet the weight of his words lingered. The Moment, the door shut, the tears I have been holding all this while, finally slid down my cheeks. How did I get here? I was looking for a way to save myself but I have gotten into another trouble instead. And this one, tops it all. The doctor rounded her table, stepped closer to me. She crouched lower beside me and pulled me into an embrace. "I'm sorry, Lisa. You'll be fine and thank you for doing this." She patted my back Pressing my lips together, I nodded and wiped the tears off my face with the back of my hand. "Thank you," I whispered, closing my eyes as more tears streamed down. In that moment, I regretted everything. I regretted my decision of wanting something real for myself. Of wanting happiness and companionship. After a while, we pulled back. I forced a smile at her before standing up and walking out of the office without another word. ________ "Lisa... where have you been? You said you were going to be gone for only thirty minutes but this is almost two hours," Anna said, her gaze fixed on the laptop. Ohh.. that was true I had taken permission from work to go and see the doctor but I had completely lost track of time. "ohhh," I sighed , frustration clawing at me. Anna glanced up at me briefly before focusing back on the laptop. "Well.. Mr. Graham has been asking for you. You should go see him." "Sure." I made my way towards his office immediately, my thoughts spiraling. I breathe out, bracing myself for Mr Graham outbursts. I hesitated before knocking. His deep voice ushered me in. I gripped the doorknob, pushing it open and stepped inside the office. The scene playing out in front of me , ripped the air off my lungs leaving completely stunned, terrified and completely unprepared Mr Graham was-
