Chapter 5 NOT SAFE

Brian was seen taking pictures in a photo shoot studio for one of the brands he was advertising. "Alright, can you smile more?. Bring out your sexy side. Yes, that is it. ONE MORE" ,this is the word that could be heard all over the room with clicking and lights flickering. Rei sat at the corner observing all that was taking place and Kai , Brian Manager was close to the male photographer taking the pictures. Rei was bored and yawning as she could feel no sign of threat around or anything to keep her busy except watching Brian posing different styles for the picture.

Some minutes later they were done talking the picture,as they were about to leave the building some group of female fans rushed towards him,as he tried to walk out of the crowd, Brian slipped backwards and Rei was behind him. Due to a quick response,Rei tried to catch him but later changed her mind as she shifted her body making Brian fall down to the ground, everyone was surprised but that didn't stop them from taking pictures of him.

Kai tried to hold her laugh as she helped Brian up with Rei. Brian angrily removes his arm from Rei and looks at Rei angrily while Rei raises her eyebrows and smiles at Brian making Brian even pissed. Some of the fans giggled at what was happening then Brian walked past them while Rei and Kai followed behind. This continues for some days,so it became popular among Brian fans that he and Rei are not friendly to each other. Most of the fans started shipping both of them while others talked bad about Rei saying they should change Brian bodyguard.

Days later, Brian was seen in a skating rink as he was practicing for his competition that was coming up. He looks so serious with his practice with his coach Mr Dari watching and supervising his ice skating dance. Rei was sitting in the audience area but got bored and walked out to receive some air. She noticed an open area with no one around, she picked up a cigarette in her pocket and lit up for some smoke. As she was smoking,Kai joined her and also asked for a cigarette which Rei gave it to her. Kai asked Rei :"how is your work so far?" . "kinda boring, nothing new here, but I still like it, it is a bit peaceful except for Brian bugging around" Rei said as she continues to smoke. "Am still surprised with everywhere being peaceful,I feel something bad is going to happen soon,a very bad omen like the environment is not safe for Brian right now",Kai said with a worried look on her face. Rei placed her hand on Kai's shoulder, tapping it saying :" me too, but am here so don't need to worry, what you have to worry about now if that dutch bag can bring back the trophy", "that is a bit of relieving words since Brian really needs this competition to move to the Olympic,we need to make him have what he wants" Kai said smiling while she continues smoking.

"Let's finish this,we have someone to look at and protect too" ,Rei said as she finished her smoke,Kai walked away while Rei followed behind.

Evening approaches and Rei and Brian were the only people in the skating rink,Kai left saying she has some work to do in the office while Mr Dari said Brian was not ready to leave yet and he had an emergency to run to leaving Rei to watch over Brian. Rei was having a creepy feeling while Brian was skating. She feels like someone was watching them but as she turned around to look, she didn't see anyone. She began alerts feeling her environment is not safe. Soon later, she noticed some weird faces around and it was giving Rei bad feeling,she called Brian who was already tired signing him that they should leave but Brian didn't move at all.

Rei shook her head uneasily signing Brian that they needed to leave. Brian understood her and went up to meet her, Rei gave Brian a bottle of water which Brian took to quench his thirst. Everywhere was a bit gloomy and lonely as the night approached,they walked faster to the car park where their van was packed looking around the surroundings. Soon onwards as they were almost approaching the van,they heard gunshots and quickly Rei pushed Brian down to hiding in between cars and their van far from them to reach, Rei tried to peep at where the direction was coming but unseen people kept shooting at them.

"1,2,3"

Rei was counting the people who was shooting at them also looking around while Brian folded his hand around his head shaking. When Rei has done surveying, she tried to get Brian attention but Brian was too scared to even raise his head. Rei picked up a gun she always carries around and her phone, she loads the gun and check her phone but her phone battery was running down,"God-damned it" she said, she then hit Brian to look at her. Brian was not responding so she had to place her hand in his shoulder, shaking him, Brian was crying and tried hiding his face back surprising Rei but Rei shook him and said :" hey ,hey look at me. This is not the time to cry, you can continue crying once we get out of here alive".

"We are going to die" Brian kept saying those words. Rei was a bit puzzled with Brian behavior as she has not seen him like this. She placed her both hands on Brian making Brian to look directly at her eyes. "We are going to leave here alive if you follow my orders right now, this is my job to protect you and nobody is going to get hurt, you got that?" Rei said to Brian with a serious look on her face. Brian nodded with his swollen puppy eyes covered with tears. Rei peeks around and saw some persons wearing a mask as they were walking to the direction Rei and Brian was , she shifted her attention to Brian and said :"we don't have much time,they are coming closer this is what you are going to do,if I say you should run, go directly to the van and start the engine. Do not look back until you get to the vehicle even if you hear any gunshots,do you understand?". Brian just kept nodding his head as no word could escape from his mouth because of fear residing in him.

"Get Ready" Rei said to Brian and Brian stood in a position as if he was about to run. Then Rei brought out her gun and started shooting at the unknown people and shouted at Brian:" RUN" . Brian even with the fear inside him started running towards where his van was while Rei ran toward one of the unknown shooters, taking his gun away from his hand and fighting him. Brian runs to the van and gets inside it and starts the vehicle,he looks at Rei worrying if he should leave her or wait for her unknown to him the other shooter was close to his van.

When Rei succeeded in beating down one of the shooters, she looked around to find the other and saw the other shooter pointing his gun directly at Brian while Brian was looking at her with a worried eye. "Brian Duck" Rei shouted at Brian and a gunshot was fired at Brian.
