Chapter 5 The Fucking Gun Down

Next day, as soon as Nadia arrived the agency premises, she went straight into her boss's office, her face set in a determined scowl.

This was what she ever wanted, and the opportunity was finally here, but that doesn't also mean that she was ready to die yet.

Yes, she's been determined and ready to do this with her last strength, but she's not sure she can do this alone.

She knew she couldn't do it alone, and that's why she joined the agency in the first place.

"Sir, I've been thinking about this assignment, and I don't think it's a good idea for me to go do it alone," she began softly.

Her boss, Rafael by name, a very stern looking man with a receding hairline and piercing eyes, raised an eyebrow.

"And why is that?" He asked, interlocking his fingers, his face hard as a rock.

"Well, for starters, the Mafioso are notoriously difficult to infiltrate," Nadia said, her hands on her hips.

Rafael leaned back in his chair, his gaze never leaving Nadia's face.

"And yet, you're one of the most capable agents we have," he said. "I have no doubt that you'll be able to handle the assignment." He continued, seemingly not interested in talking more about the matter.

Nadia shook her head, frustration written all over her face.

Why was he not showing concern about her worry?

"With all due respect, sir, this is too big a risk," she said. "I'd feel better if I had backup." She spoke up honestly.

The boss leaned forward, a frown crawling up his face.

"The fact that you're alone is exactly what makes this assignment possible," he said.

Nadia was utterly confused.

What was he saying right now?

"Think about it, Nadia," The boss continued, his voice measured and deliberate. "If you go in with another agent, you'll immediately raise suspicion. The Mafioso are well-versed in spotting undercover agents.

But if it's just you, if you're careful enough, you'll blend right in easily." He explained further.

Nadia bit her lip. She still didn't think this was a good idea.

However, she was considering his words.

She knew he was right, but she still didn't like the idea of doing it alone.

This was more scary and harder than she ever thought it would be.

Her heart was thumping hard each second she thought about it.

[ NIGHT ]

Alessio and Alessia walked through the rhythmic nightclub, their presence alarming people that they were around.

They moved about with purpose, their designer attire and confident strides distinguishing them from the revelers.

Alessio wore a breathtaking tailored black suit, his dark hair perfectly styled, complimenting his sleek, all black outfit.

He was really a devil. A handsome one at that.

Alessia's hair on the other hand cascaded down her back like silk.

Her fitted black-leather dress shimmered under the flashing lights. It hung tightly on her slim body, complimented with heels, then she wore gloves too.

And just like her brother, she was the she-devil. The first daughter of the devil.

They were in a nightclub filled with only people like them.

The whole room was smelling of alcohol and tobacco, drugs and all the sort.

But Alessio and his twin sister were only here for one reason.

It wasn't a mission, so the Clan members weren't with them.

They had come here for an important business deal.

They approached Donatello Rossi, a senior Mafioso, he was in the VIP section. Cigar smoke swirled around the room, mingling with expensive cologne. His rugged face, framed by a thick beard, exuded authority and power.

Donatello is another powerful Mafia boss, he's not a rival of Alessio.

Just another person Alessio does his dirty business with, sometimes.

"Welcome, the Ferrari twins," Donatello said, an unintended smile on his face as he smoked hard, his left hand stretching out to pick his glass of alcohol.

"We've secured the artifact." Alessia spoke up immediately. She wasn't here to chit chat and waste time. Her tone was low though.

"The Caravaggio?" Donatello's eyes narrowed.

Alessia nodded curtly, raven hair spilling forward.

"Authentic. Hidden safely." She said.

Donatello puffed his cigar, calculating.

"I'll transfer 5 million euros. You ensure its delivery immediately." He said.

"10 million. Non-negotiable. Deal or no deal?" Alessio's gaze hardened. He really felt like punching Donatello right at that moment.

"Deal." Donatello's jaw clenched, before he nodded.

Hands shook, sealing the illicit deal. Briefcases exchanged hands discreetly. Cash and documents changed ownership.

The artifacts illegal history and high value made this a risky deal. But Donatello trusted Alessio and Alessia because they kept secrets and didn't tolerate betrayal. Plus, they were tough.

"Delivery within 48 hours," Alessio stated.

"Expect silence from our end," His sister added.

Donatello nodded, disappearing into the night afterwards.

"Verify the transfer. Prepare extraction. I don't trust that dickhead anymore," Alessio turned to Alessia and said.

Alessia vanished into the shadows too, with phone at her ear.

Alessio exited the club room as well.

As Alessia walked through the crowd, trying to make the call she needed to make, she instantly caught sight of someone watching her, and her instincts kicked in immediately.

It was Nadia!

What? Nadia?

Like a menacing devil, Alessia slowly put her phone in her strap, and began to walk fast towards Nadia's direction, her eyes not leaving that direction even for a blink.

"Oh, no! Damn!" Nadia cursed, and swiftly began to walk away as she saw Alessia approaching her.

Alessia smiled darkly, and began to run as Alessia took to her heels.

It didn't look like she wore heels at all, she was so f*cking fast that one could barely see her run pass.

She was like a shadow. Though Nadia was fast too, but definitely not fast enough to complete with Alessia.

Nadia fastened her face, sensing danger.

What had she done?!

This wasn't the plan, she wasn't ready for this yet. How could she let herself get caught like this?

Now what was she supposed to do?

That devil behind her was catching up, and she was sure going to catch her, and even kîll right there.

She she had heard of how ruthless these twins were, and she was scared to death, just at the thought of it.

"Stop!" Alessia ordered, but Nadia wouldn't stop for any damn reason!

No! She wasn't going to die like this.

But, why does she feel like Alessia was going to....

Nadia hadn't finished thinking when a bullet tore into her leg. She crumpled immediately, pain searing.

"Ahh!" Nadia screamed, clutching her thigh.

Alessia stood over her, gun smoking.

"You're a spy, aren't you? Speak, or I blow off your brains," Alessia's eyes turned red.

She needed no one to tell her that Nadia was spying on them.

Nadia writhed, agony intensifying.

"Please, don't.....I'm....I'm...." Nadia tried to speak, struggling upright as an excruciating pain shot through her vein.

"I don't have all night, f*cking speak!" Alessia pointed the gun directly to her forehead.

Nadia felt her blôod freeze instantly. Her eyes widened in horror.

The only thing she was doing right then was praying for her soul to be received in heaven.

Her stammering even worsened, she couldn't speak clearly at all, and that got Alessia really mad.

Out of anger, she cocked her gun and was about pulling the trigger, when they both heard a voice....

"Put the f*cking gun down," Came Alessio's voice.....
