Chapter 4 Not Ready

But just when he had just pulled the trigger, the door flung open, revealing Marco.

Due to the sudden intrusion, the bullet missed the girl, and ended up hitting the wall near Marco, shattering that area.

"I hope you didn't flush your brains in the toilet before coming here. Don't you know how to knock?!" Alessio growled, his cold eyes piercing Marco's soul. Although Marco wasn't surprised at what had almost happened to the girl, as that wasn't new to him. But his eyes were wide in horror as he had barely missed that bullet.

"I'm sorry, Capo. Pardon my manners," Marco said, bowing. His eyes trying not to look at him down there nor his face, or the wall he just shot.

"Why the hell are you here?" Alessio asked, voice cold and urgent.

"Salvatore is back in the country," immediately the words left Marco's lips, a devilish smile crept up on Alessio's lips. A cold and menacing one at that.

Salvatore happened to be one of their big rivals, who stole a lot from them and ran away.

He had been out of the country for close to two years now since the shit he did.

Anyway, Marco, who just brought the information to Alessio's knowledge, is the Clan's informant. Although, the Clan has trackers, who find out about information.

But those trackers are mostly focused on finding the location of their enemies.

So, apparently, Marco was the one who gathered almost all the information the Clan needed.

Marco had been working with the Ferrari's since the Ferrari's twins were still younger.

He was among the oldest people in the Clan, who had served and were always loyal to the Ferraris'.

* Back At Nadia's Place *

"So, what was it with the urgent call? What was so important that you had to drive out, risking yourself under the heavy weather?" Trisha asked eagerly as Nadia got back from her office.

She helped Nadia out with the items she was holding, both of them sitting on the couch.

Nadia plopped down heavily, sighing.

"I've been assigned to bring down the Ferraris'," Nadia spoke up, worry and fear clearly written on her face. But Trisha didn't seem to notice that, she was too excited to hear the news. Her face lit up, smiles spread all over it.

"Yay! Finally!" She cheered, forgetting that Nadia actually mentioned the Ferraris....Alessio and his twin. The ruthless and cruel people everyone knew.

With her excitement, one would think Nadia just said she was assigned to bring down chickens that could easily get destroyed, or would easily surrender to her.

Well, no one could actually blame her. She wanted revenge on the Ferraris, just as much as Nadia wanted to exact it on them.

She wasn't there when Nadia's parents got brutally killed, but she knew what it felt like to lose the one you love, let a alone two at the same time. No, her entire family.

"You....are not happy?" Trisha finally realized Nadia didn't seem happy about it, judging from the tense and restless look on her face.

"I don't know, Trish. This is all I've ever wanted, right? But why do I suddenly feel scared? Like I can't do it?" Nadia said, her eyes boring into Trish's.

She was happy, very very happy about it. But at the same time, she was not sure of this, and she couldn't even explain why she was thinking she wasn't sure or ready.

"What do you mean you can't do it? You've been training for this, Nana. The time is finally here. You were assigned with someone else, right? See? There's nothing to...."

"Assigned with someone? No, I'm doing this job alone, Trisha. No one else was assigned this mission with me," Nadia revealed, letting out a deep breath.

"Wait, what!?" Trisha's brows curved up in shock. "How can they assign you this mission alone? Bring down the Ferraris alone? Are you kidding?" Trisha's voice rose in utter disbelief and anger.

*******

Okay! Now we are getting somewhere. Nadia has finally been signed to carry out the mission.

But do you think she's ready?
