"As you wish." George smiled as we kept moving.
The journey was long and at one point, I became drowsy. I tried to stay awake but eventually, I succumbed and fell asleep.
********
"Ma'am, we're here," George said, tapping on my back.
I forced my eyes open-I couldn't believe I had slept off.
"Your new home!" he exclaimed.
I got down from the car and was utterly speechless at what I saw. A huge mansion, way bigger than the ones in my pack. It was massive and beautiful.
I was stunned when I saw it. "Is this really my house?" I asked, still amazed.
"Yes," George affirmed. "It's beautiful isn't it?
"Yes," I whispered, "but it's too big. I can't live in here all by myself-"
"You know what?" George suddenly cuts in, "why don't we go in first so you can have something to eat? You look exhausted."
I wasn't sure why he changed the topic but I agreed-I was really famished.
"...And we would also like you to meet someone too," Ryan added.
"Someone?" I raised my brows in curiosity, "who?"
I entered the mansion and it was more beautiful than the outside-I was completely stunned.
George took me to the dinner table and there, I was served a nice meal and it was very tasty. For a second, I was very happy. I never thought I would ever smile again after what I had been through.
"Who is the person you want me to meet?" I asked George, after I finished my meal.
"Oh yeah this way, my lady." he smiled, showing me the way, but I insisted he take the lead.
I followed him closely behind as we went upstairs until we came to a huge door. I became nervous and suspicious again. "I didn't ask for a mansion, I just want a nice apartment," I murmured in a tremulous voice.
"Relax ma'am, you're safe." he assured me before opening the door.
I entered and saw a man sitting on a rocky chair. I went closer to take a good look at him but I couldn't see his face-he was wearing a gold mask.
"Oblivion!" George exclaimed as he knelt before the strange man, "I brought her as you asked."
I suddenly fell into panic. "What is going on here, George?" I asked then pointed at the man wearing a mask, "and who the f**k is he?"
"I am Oblivion, the Alpha of the Sypher pack." the masked man replied. His voice was deep and thunderous and the moment he spoke, it sent cold dreads down my spine.
"Oblivion?" I asked, puzzled "what kind of name is that?"
"George told me about you when he took you to the hospital." Oblivion continued, "you don't have to be scared, I'm not going to hurt you."
"You tricked me, why?!" I yelled at George, but he didn't look up-he was staring at the tile floor.
"I'm sorry, my lady," George whispered, still staring at the tile floor.
"What do you want with me, Mr. Oblivion?" I growled, staring deeply into his eyes, furious and scared at the same time.
"You are going to be my Luna." he declared. I stared at him for a moment, I couldn't believe what he was saying.
"And what makes you think I want to be your Luna?" I growled again, folding my arms.
"I wasn't asking!" he whispered in a low yet intimidating tone.
"W-what?" I swallowed hard as my voice cracked. "What do you mean by that? What the hell is going on?"
I was so scared that I began to shake all over. I stared at the strange man behind the mask, leaning backwards.
"I want to go!" I yelled, as I reached for the door but it was locked, "why isn't it opening?"
I stared at George again but he didn't say a word, "George did you hear what I said? I want to go home-"
"Home?" Oblivion scoffed, "George told me everything but you didn't say where you were from."
"Please I want to go," I cried, "let me go-"
Suddenly, he stood up. He was very tall and well built. His physique was intimidating and attractive at the same time. I leaned backwards in panic as he stood up.
"Let's make a deal." He whispered, walking towards his drawers. He opened the last drawer and brought out a file and pen and began to approach me.
I leaned backwards against the door as he came closer, my heart pounded so fast that for a moment, I thought he could hear it.
Immediately, he dropped the file on the table beside me. I stared at the file, trying to understand what he was doing.
"wh-what deal?" I stuttered.
"You are going to sign this contract." He replied, "After signing, we will get married but after one year, you are going to decide if you want to remain or not. If you don't want to stay, I'll pay you for your time and let you go."
I was completely stunned. That sure wasn't what I was expecting. "You're saying that I'm going to be your Luna for one year?"
"Affirmative." he nodded.
"What do you think I am, a w*ore?" I barked, "You can't just tell me to sign a stupid contract, be your wife for one year and then pay me off! I'm not a slave."
"Of course you're not a slave," Oblivion whispered, "you're going to be the Luna of the Sypher pack. You only need to sign-"
"What if I refuse to sign?" I asked sharply but he remained calm.
"I wasn't asking." he whispered again.
"I don't want to be your Luna and I'm not signing that contract!" I growled, turning my face away from him. I tried to act tough but deep down, I was really scared. I wasn't sure how he'd react.
"What is your name?" he asked in yet another calm voice.
"Let me see your face and I'll tell you my name," I replied sharply, still staring at the wall, away from him.
"Alright," he sighed. "George will take you to your room,"
"I'm not going anywhere!" I insisted, "I want to get out of here."
"I really like your spirit," Oblivion chuckled. "But you can't leave this mansion. Unless you sign the contract, you'll never leave."
I switched my gaze and stared at him, perplexed. "What do you mean I'll never leave if I don't sign?"
"Once you sign, our contract begins and the moment it expires, you can decide if you want to stay or not but if you don't sign, you will remain here until you sign it." he affirmed.
I stared at him and signed. At least his conditions were fair-way better than what I imagined. I stared at George in rage and then back at Oblivion.
I gave out another deep sigh and hissed, "I'll think about it!"
