Maya POV
I couldn't believe my ear. I checked one more time to be sure this wasn't a hallucination either.
"Brandon!!" I yelled and he chuckled.
Of course, I know it is him, only that son of a monster could be this mean.
"Listen and listen good, Brandon, I don't know what you think this is but give me back my daughter!" I yelled.
I didn't look around or care about my environment at the time or the fact that people were all around looking at me tearing up and yelling like a mad woman.
I didn't care one bit! This is my daughter we are talking about after all.
"Maya, stop yelling. She is mine as well!" He said.
Tears poured down my eyes listening to him, I had never thought of things coming to this level. How did he know I have a daughter?
How did he know that Delaney was his, to begin with??
"Yours?!" I questioned, chuckling again.
Is that supposed to be a joke or something? He is now claiming right over a girl I raised alone?
"Are you fucking kidding me right now?" I asked with the tenacity of the anger brewing inside me at the time.
"Listen to me right now!" I yelled as I wiped my tears. I can't fall apart now! My daughter is with that bastard!
"I want my daughter back and I want to see her right now or you will regret ever knowing me!" I yelled at the phone and silence enveloped the atmosphere.
I immediately looked down at the phone to be sure he was still on the line and he was there, listening to me after all.
"Brandon, I know you can hear me, give me back my daughter!" I yelled again.
"Maya, there is no need to yell, we are all adults! So I hope you can calm down!" He said calmly and it was like it fueled the anger in me.
"Brandon! Don't play with me!" I said.
He laughed at the other side of the line and my heart kept beating so hard that I couldn't even control it at all.
"Okay, fine. You want to see Delaney! Come to the garden!" He said. My heart was spinning a few times the moment I heard him mention the garden.
That bastard!!!
He is trying to blackmail me right now. I guess he doesn't even know who the new Maya is right now.
"You better don't play games with me, I want to have my daughter back! I will be there in a few minutes!" I said and hung up the phone.
I walked to my car and opened it, threw my bag inside, and sat down before slamming the door angrily.
"I hate you, Brandon!!!" I yelled again! He poked the wrong bear! Picking on my daughter is the worst he could do.
That is my bottom line and I don't mind biting the hand that poked me.
I picked up my phone and called Sonia immediately.
"Girl, stop the search!" I said and she was shocked.
"Maya, what are you talking about? What is going on? Have you seen Delaney?" She asked in one sentence.
"Sonia, I have this covered. Just calm down. Just get back to work! I will go get my daughter!" I said.
She was more scared hearing my words. "What is going on? Tell me something! Is someone threatening you? Talk to me!" Sonia asked.
"You lost her, I will find her already. Just stop searching for my daughter!" I yelled and hung up the phone.
I knew Sonia so much, that she wouldn't stop pressuring me to know what was the matter unless I poked her wounds.
She is already feeling so guilty about everything! Of course, I could do what to push her a little bit and she would finally listen to me.
I ignited the car engine and the moment I heard the engine roar, I remembered how to play the game Brandon just started.
Let's also pull the devil he has!
I picked up my phone again and called the last number I would ever want to call.
"Hello!" I said.
"Who is this?" The feminine voice came up and I chuckled.
"Your nemesis darling!" I said with a laugh and I could tell she knew exactly who was on the line.
"Maya!!" She yelled, surprisingly nothing gave me joy better than her yelling my name in horror.
"Of course, it is only the original!" I said with a smirk.
"I am back, sister and I thought how best will it be to come back with a gift for my dearest sister," I said. Ella immediately stopped to listen to me.
"What do you want from me?" She said and I laughed almost immediately.
"It's been five years, little sister, let's catch up, how about we meet at the center park garden, the abandoned one!" I said.
"What?? What are you trying to do?" Ella asked and I laughed again.
"Trying to catch up with my sister, or what do you think I am trying to do? Except my little sister is scared. I will say, don't come and not regret not coming later on!" I said.
I didn't allow her to think it through and respond before hanging up the call and driving the car as fast as I could toward the garden.
Well, from my location, it will take me forty-five minutes to get to the garden and that should be the same time Ella should get there.
I sighed the moment I got to the entrance of the park and parked. I stepped out and just like adrenaline, the familiar feeling associated with the park rushed in on me.
I swallowed every emotion and buried my fears before shutting the car door walking towards the old door and pushing it open by force.
"I knew you would come, my love! Don't you miss me at all?" his hoarse and annoying voice echoed and I laughed within me.
"Brandon, give me my daughter, and let me go!" I yelled as I didn't see him anywhere but I could hear him and I knew he was close by.
