CHAPTER 4:Shattered Reflections

SOPHIA POV

I opened my eyes only to see that I was laying alone in an empty room. Only for me to try my best and stand up. But I was tied up, just as expected. It seemed as if whoever wanted to attack me had already known that I was going to wake up at this moment. Because the light immediately came on.

As I tried my best to fight the grip, the rope tying me down in my new bondage, I saw Sophie. Selena walked in with a smile on her face.

"How does it feel? You thought you could be smart enough, right? You thought you could easily get the upper hand and get my own man? He doesn't belong to you. He is mine, and he continues to be mine, and that will never change."

"You really thought I would just leave you despite knowing what you did? It is your fault. Gabriel was on his own. He rejected you, but yet you knew that you had to get your way. He knew that if he never loved you, then you would never get to be the Lunar. Just because the Moon Goddess favored you and made you his mate doesn't mean you have an upper hand or mean that you can do whatever you want. That can never happen. He belongs to me and me alone. And I would continue to remind you about that no matter how long he is not yours."

Selena said to me as I was confused. She was suddenly pouring all the blame on me, saying it was my fault that everything happened the way it was. I thought it was going to end there and maybe she would just throw me out or maybe punish me, telling me not to ever return. But instead, she made things even worse and more complicated, only for her to pull out a drawer.

Oh my God, I couldn't explain the amount of tools I saw inside there, all filled with torturing equipment. She brought out a whip and smiled.

"You think Gabriel ever wanted you? He never wanted anything to do with you. In short, he regrets it and he's very angry. He said you forced yourself on him, and he is not going to let you go scot-free. He would not make you continue thinking that he likes you."

"Say," Selena said to me.

And suddenly I felt my heart shatter. Yes, I know I was the one who rushed to hug him. I was the one who tried to compensate him while he wept and cried in tears. But I still refused to believe her words. Gabriel did not look at me that way. Even when I said I regretted everything, he looked so angry.

So was this what he meant? But what Selena said broke me into pieces. As she began to whip me, she whipped me and I begged. But yet she did not let go as she continued and instead found amusement in torturing me. She continued like that till it was almost night time, and after all the pain I went through, I was able to finally escape Selena's grip.

But as I ran out of the abandoned building, I became so weak. Unable to run fast on my own. I tried my best to find the quickest route to escape as far as possible as I could, but I still couldn't. I was still being chased. I could feel it. Even though I saw nothing following me behind, I could still feel it even as I ran.

I thought about it.

"What if she intentionally freed me just to put me in a situation like this?" I still thought to myself. But I made sure to run. I won't give her the chance to make me her scapegoat. I never expected Selena to be this wicked, I thought.

But as I got further and closer to the express, a car began to chase behind me as I ran as quick as I could.

"It was Selena, I am sure of it," I thought.

Only for me to lose composure and I fell to the ground, twisting my ankle. I still tried my best to stand up and crawl my way out of this situation, only for the car to speed even faster. Before I could comprehend what was going on around me, I got hit by the car and fell to the ground.

I tried again to stand up, but just as I did, my gaze immediately went directly to the car. And who did I see? Gabriel. Alpha Gabriel. He betrayed me. He was the one who did this to me. He is behind Selena.

Selena was right. He never wanted me. He could actually do something like this and live like it was nothing. He actually wanted me dead, I thought again to myself. But instantly, I lost consciousness.

I opened my eyes again only to see myself in the presence of multiple doctors as they looked at me with pity on their faces, and at the corner was a figure. He folded his hands and looked concerned as they all noticed I had awoken and they quickly checked me.

"Where am I? What happened to me?" I said, hoping that they would be able to give me a good explanation as one of the doctors stepped forward.

"You are in the hospital. We found you on the road. Actually, this man found you on the road, and your face was scattered. You have lost your identity," the doctor said to me as I was unable to understand.

"What do you mean by I lost my identity?" I asked as he gave me a mirror.

"Your face has been disfigured. Whoever jammed you made sure to go for the one part that is so difficult to amend," he said as I started crying, tears flowing down my eyes, me unable to control myself, still fighting it, but yet it kept pouring out continuously.

"This can't happen. They can't do this to me. Not me, not after everything I have been through. It was not my fault," I pleaded as the man in the shadow stepped out.

"You have to accept your fate no matter what. It's the only way. You have to accept your fate so you can take back everything they took from you," he said.

And instantly I felt determined.

"I won't let a man like Gabriel win no matter what."

"If you want to take revenge on him you first have to work on yourself and not make any haste on your plans...but I want you to know one important thing I would be by your side no matter what and help you in every way possible." Whoever this person was, he clearly was the only person I had in my one chance of getting back what i lost...I am coming for you Alpha Gabriel.
