Chapter 2 2

"Wow," Isabella said as she saw Martina standing in front of her in a full knee-length simple and elegant dress which was hiding her curves very perfectly. Her long black hair stood in a wavy pattern as a chuckle left from her light-ish red lips. Her eyes twinkled as she walked towards her mother in short heels.

"You are looking so beautiful, dear." redness crept on Martina's cheeks as she stand by her mother who wore a decent outfit as she caressed Martina's head making a smile smile to etched on her face

"You are looking so beautiful, dear." Redness crept on Martina's cheeks as she stood by her mother, who wore a decent outfit as she caressed Martina's head, making a smile smile to etch on her face. It was around 8 pm as they both waited for her dad to come out.

"Not more than you, Mum." She gave her mother a beautiful smile, which made Isabella coo at her baby. They were busy chatting with each other, but their conversation got broken due to a voice. "How am I looking, my ladies?"

Vincent opens his arms while standing in front of them as Martina shows a thumbs up to him while smiling. "Good," Isabella said, which made Vincent scowl as he spoke. "I know I'm looking handsome, right, Martina?" She nodded her head.

"See," he said as Isabella rolled her eyes, making Martina snicker at their bickerings as he spoke. "Martina," his voice turned serious as her smile faded while listening to him as she replied. "Yes, Dad, I'm all ears," she said as he continued.

"At the event, you will not go anywhere without us, and you will not leave your mother's hand till we reach home," he said sternly but with concern laced in his voice as Martina nodded her head in understanding. She knew that they were being strict just for her safety, but whenever they raised their voice at her, she got overwhelmed. Vincent is behaving overprotectively, but he knows the truth of the world.

"If by any chance you can't find us, do not talk to anyone. I repeat myself: DO NOT talk to anyone, and if someone tries to say something tou, ignore them. You will not reply. Understood?" He said pressuring each and every word with sternness yet softness.

"Okk, Dad," she replied softly, making him smile. "Let's go," he spoke as they step forward Martina stopped and said. "Wait, you both go; I forgot my mobile. I will come after taking it," she said and went back to her room to fetch her mobile.

"Isabella, listen carefully. Don't leave Martina's hand there; I have to attend to many people there," he spoke with worry. "Don't worry, Vincent; I will not leave her alone," she assured him as she understood his tension.

"You know our daughter – she is way too fragile for this world," he said calmly as they stepped outside their house. "I know, but we can't keep her hidden forever," she spoke. "Whom are you both talking about?" Martina spoke from behind as they both shook their heads.

"Nothing. Did you bring your mobile?" Isabella asked as she nodded her head while waving her mobile, making both of them smile, but from the inside they were getting scared because she is too pure for the world.

"Ok, let's go," Vincent said while getting inside the car as Isabella locked the house before sitting beside Vincent. Martina took the back seat as they wore the seatbelt. The engine roared, and soon the car got in motion.

"Did you remember what I told you, Martina?" He said while focusing on the road, gaining her attention. "Yes, Dad, I remember. I won't leave both of your sides even for a second," she replied, making her parents smile.

Martina was looking outside the car, seeing the beautiful city of New York twinkling in the night with lights as she thought about her destination, and again that strange feeling came crashing into her mind, making her startled. She was trying to ignore it again and again.

The feeling was indicating that something is definitely going to be wrong, but she couldn't figure it out. She was too overwhelmed by her parent's raised voice and the excitement took over her naive mind that she couldn't seem to notice the feeling and instead took it as anxiety.

Soon the car halted, and a big and luxurious hotel came into her view as her heartbeat started pounding inside her chest and a lump formed in her throat, but she swallowed it and formed a smile on her face as Isabella and Vincent came out of the car, followed by Martina.

She can see many luxury cars and limos, and she got confirmation that there were many rich people. Isabella held her hand as they started walking with Martina in between them. As they came to the entrance, there were two stoic bodyguards with big guns in their hands, and she immediately regretted her idea of coming here.

Unknowingly she clutched Isabella's hand, making her look at her. "What happened, Martina? Are you fine, dear?" She said softly as they passed them, making Martina release her breath. "I'm f-fine, Mom; it's just a little cold here," she lied, because if she told them the truth, her father would immediately drop them at home, and she didn't want to miss the event.

As they stepped inside the big hall, all the feelings inside her got thrown out of the window. She gasped while seeing the gigantic and decent place for the first time in real life. "Wow." She roamed her eyes around the hall and again gasped, taking in its beauty.

Her brown eyes twinkled seeing the ethereal beauty. She came out of her trance when her mother slightly shook her. She looked around at the people and found most of them staring at her casually, making her ears burn up a little as she looked down.

A bunch of ladies chuckled while seeing her reaction as they again busied themselves on their own. In the crowd, a pair of grey eyes was watching her every move keenly, and when she blushed, it got dark.

Martina was unaware of the fact that she unknowingly caught the attention of someone who doesn't have any moral intentions with her.
