Diamond's days blended together in a blur of fear and anxiety. She felt like she was walking on eggshells, never knowing when David's temper would flare up next. One evening, David announced that he had to attend a business dinner the following night and would be leaving the house for a few hours.
As he prepared for the event, Diamond's mind began to racing with possibilities. Could this be her chance to escape or reach out for help? She tried to push the thoughts away, knowing that David's absence might not be as simple as it seemed.
The next evening, as David left the house, Diamond felt a mix of emotions. She was relieved to have some time alone, but she was also terrified of what might happen if David discovered her plans.
As the hours ticked by, Diamond's anxiety grew. She knew she had to do something, but she wasn't sure what,as she was about to start thinking about her escape plan.
Suddenly, she heard a faint knock at the door. Her heart skipped a beat as she wondered who it could be,cause she knows if it should be David her plan will be ruined.
Diamond's heart raced as she approached the door, her mind filled with possibilities. She slowly turned the handle and pulled the door open, expecting perhaps a neighbor or someone seeking help. But to her shock, it was David standing there, fully drunk and unsteady on his feet. Beside him was a woman in a revealing red gown, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of amusement and malice.
David's eyes locked onto Diamond's, a sneer twisting his lips. "Move," he slurred, pushing Diamond out of the way. She stumbled backward, her eyes wide with horror as David dragged the woman into the house.
The woman's laughter echoed through the hallway as David pulled her towards his bedroom that she has never had access to. Diamond watched in stunned silence, her heart shattering into a million pieces. She felt like she was living in a nightmare from which she couldn't wake up.
As the bedroom door slammed shut behind them, Diamond's composure broke. She collapsed to the floor, tears streaming down her face. She looked up at the ceiling, her voice barely above a whisper. "God, for how long will I be in this terrible marriage?"
Diamond summoned every ounce of courage she had and crept up to the door of David's room. She pressed her ear against the wood, her heart pounding in her chest. The voices inside were muffled, but she could make out the woman's shrill tone asking, "Who was that lady downstairs?"
David's response was casual, almost dismissive. "She's just one random lady I have around the house."
The words cut through Diamond like a knife. She felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. She backed away from the door, her eyes brimming with tears. She didn't want to hear any more. Silently, she made her way back downstairs, pretending she hadn't overheard the devastating conversation.
But her reprieve was short-lived. David's voice boomed from upstairs, calling out her name. "Diamond! Diamond! Come here."
Diamond's legs felt heavy as she trudged back upstairs. She opened the door to find the woman reclining on the bed, looking like she owned the place. David was sleeping beside her with her head on his chest,a smirk on his face.
"Are you deaf?" the woman snapped. "He's been calling you since forever."
David chuckled. "I told you, she has an ear problem."
The woman raised an eyebrow. "Oh, I didn't know."
Diamond felt like she was going to collapse. The humiliation was suffocating her.
David's voice was dripping with disdain as he said, "Hey Diamond, get something for my woman to eat. And make it fast, she's famished."
The woman's eyes gleamed with amusement as she added, "Yes, please hurry. I'm starving."
Diamond turned and left the room, her heart heavy with sorrow. She felt like a servant in her own home, treated worse than dirt.
As the night wore on, the woman finally left, and David settled into a self-satisfied smirk. Diamond, however, had reached her breaking point. She waited until they were alone, then turned to David with a fierce determination in her eyes.
"What's going on, David?" she demanded, her voice trembling with rage. "Who is that woman you brought into our matrimonial home, and what's going on between you two?"
David's smirk faltered for a moment, then returned, even more arrogant than before. "What are you talking about, Diamond?" he sneered. "You don't have any right to question me,."
"I have every right," Diamond shot back, her anger boiling over. "I'm your legally married wife, and I deserve to know what's going on in my own home."
David's expression darkened, and he took a step closer to Diamond. "You think you're in a position to question me?" he barked, his voice rising. "You're just a wife on the paper, Diamond. A wife who's supposed to obey her husband and keep her mouth shut."
Diamond stood her ground, despite the fear that was growing inside her. "I won't be treated like this, David," she said, her voice firm. "I won't be disrespected in my own home."
David's face twisted in anger, and he raised his hand. Diamond flinched, anticipating the blow. The slap caught her off guard, sending her stumbling backward.
"How dare you question me?" David snarled, his eyes blazing with fury. "You're my wife, and you'll do as I say. You'll keep your mouth shut and your eyes closed. That's the only way you'll survive this marriage."
David turned to leave, heading for the stairs.Diamond placed her hand on her throbbing cheek and called out to him.
"David!David! David, come back here! I'm still talking to you!"
But David just hissed and continued up the stairs, leaving Diamond alone in her pain, tears and anger
