Chapter 1 Death is knocking

My eyes twinkled in fear as I stood in front of the burning fire. The shouts of fear and screams of pain engulfed me, causing my entire body to shiver in anxiety. I clenched my fist tight and watched my whole world burn to ashes right in front of me.

My reaction was nothing compared to that of Justin. My husband fell to his knees with tears rolling down his cheeks. Justin had spent so much time, effort, energy and money on building the Silver pack, now it was about to vanish from existence, right in front of our eyes.

"H-ow..." I stuttered, blinking twice in disbelief. Justin and I had only left the Silver pack house for a few hours because we had an urgent meeting to attend with a neighboring pack. How was it that, in the span of just a few hours, our pack house had burnt into ashes?

I placed my hands on my chest to calm myself down. I needed to be strong for Justin. I turned to gaze at my husband, but to my uttermost surprise, he was no longer where he was. I watched Justin run into the fire. I knew he was finding it difficult to believe, but still, it was a risky decision to run into the fire.

"Justin!" I yelled his name. My voice was shaky, and my breathing became hitched. I yelled Justin's name several times and I knew he heard me clearly, he just chose to turn a deaf ear to my voice.

I knew standing in front of the fire, yelling his name would not do anything. I had to go in there and stop him from getting burnt to ashes.

I released a heavy sigh as I rushed into the pack house. The entire air was covered in smoke, which made it extremely hard for me to see. Unlike every other werewolf with fast reflexes and super sight, I was the opposite. I was slow, weak, and it was because I was a hybrid, my father was a werewolf and my mother was a healer. I had only possessed my mother's traits which locked all my werewolf abilities.

I coughed loudly as I saw a figure leaning on the wall for support. I recognized the lanky figure to be Damien, the lieutenant to our pack. I rushed to him and successfully brought him out of the fire.

Damien's entire body was covered in bruises and blood, half of his body was burnt, and I was afraid that Damien only had a few minutes before dying.

"What happened?" I cried out loud, tears rolling down my cheeks. Damien coughed out blood on my shirt, but that was not even among my worries. I watched him struggle to speak up. "They, I-I..." He stuttered.

I gulped a lump down my throat. "Please say something Damien. Are there any survivors? Who did this to you all? "What happened?" I threw questions at him. I was fully aware that he would not be able to answer everything, but I held unto the little hope I had left in me.

"Hades." Damien managed to choke out, right before he took his last breath. I broke down in sobs as I watched Damien's lifeless body fall into my arms.

Hades? He had given me a clue, but I was still confused. Who was Hades, and why was that person attacking us? Our pack, the Silver Pack, always makes sure to maintain peace with other packs. As Luna of the pack, I often reached out to other Lunas and I did my best to please them.

I dropped Damien's body after saying a short prayer to the Moon goddess. I rushed to find Justin and, after passing through fire and smoke, I eventually found my husband but not just him. He was involved in a brutal combat with another man dressed in a battle suit.

I immediately recognized the man to be the famous lieutenant Jones of the Moon Tribe pack. That was when I suddenly remembered that Hades was the Alpha of the Moon Tribe pack. They were the ones attacking.

My heart began to race extremely fast at my newfound knowledge. The Moon Tribe pack were the most powerful pack to ever exist in Silverville town. Alpha Hades was known for his ruthlessness and merciless acts.

I wanted to stop Justin from fighting. I wanted us to run instead because I knew how pointless it was to get involved with such a powerful pack as the Moon Tribe pack. Unfortunately for me, it was too late for me to stop Justin. Lieutenant Jones had beaten the daylight out of Justin. He grabbed Justin by the wrist and yanked me by the hair.

I pleaded with him to let us go, but he turned a deaf ear. Eventually he brought us to the Man himself, the one behind all of this, Alpha Hades.

Justin and I fell flat on the floor, our heads bowed at Alpha Hades. I did my best to avoid eye contact with him because I was afraid to look him in the face.

"Please Sir, let us go." I cried out with tears rolling down my cheeks.

I heard footsteps draw closer to me. Alpha Hades' scent was strong, way too strong. For the first time in my life, I felt my wolf awaken. I felt a surge of electricity course through my veins. I had to snap my head up to gaze at him, our eyes met, and it looked like Alpha Hades felt it too.

Some sort of connection. I could not comprehend what I was feeling. What was he doing to me? I expected myself to feel fear, but instead, I felt warm, way too warm to be around someone as cruel as Alpha Hades.

Suddenly, Alpha Hades picked Justin up by the neck. His next action took me off guard. I gasped loudly in shock as Alpha Hades' claws slashed Justin's neck.

My husband's blood spilled over my face, leaving me dumbfounded.

"Death." Those were the last words of my lover.
