I lay on the cold tiled floor, my eyes settled on the rooftop as tears rolled down my cheeks. My entire body trembled as the memory of Justin's death continually replayed in my head. I broke down into tears for the umpteenth time as the reality of life slowly hit me.
Not only had I lost my husband, I had also lost my pack members all in one day. Everything still felt like a dream, a nightmare that I desperately wanted to wake up from.
Suddenly, the front door flew open wide, revealing the bright rays of sun. After Alpha Hades, that monster killed my husband. He instructed his lieutenant to take me to the Moon Tribe pack house. I was thrown into a small cell for the entire night.
I curled myself into a ball as I slowly raised my head up to gaze at the person by the door. It was a lady, elegantly dressed in a sunflower dress. Her blue eyes lit up, and her lips were curled into a small smile. Something about her made me feel warm, as if I had seen her somewhere before.
She slowly approached me and, without hesitation, I crawled backward until my back was against the wall. "Who are you?" I stuttered. The lady stretched out her hand, her smile never wavering for once. "My name is Tamara," she said. I eyed her weirdly and that was enough for her to get the hint. She cleared her throat and placed her hands behind her back.
"How are you feeling?" she asked. I could sense sincerity in her tone, but I reminded myself that she was not to be trusted. No one was. Everyone in the Moon Tribe pack had automatically become my enemies.
"I-I..." I stuttered, I paused to bite my lower lip to stop myself from breaking down into tears. I cleared my throat and spoke in a tone barely above a whisper. "I want out of here. Please let me out of here." I cried out.
This so-called Tamara sighed heavily. She ran a hand through her hair and tried to maintain the smile on her face, although I could tell that she felt sympathy toward me. "I am so sorry, but I am not in the position to do that." She apologized, sincerely.
I knew better than that. She was most likely a mere servant. The only person I could plead to was Alpha Hades. He was the only one who could grant me my freedom. "Can I see him?" I muttered.
Tamara understood who I was talking about. She seemed reluctant, but she did her best to hide it. "I can help you do that, but we need to obey his orders first," Tamara said. I nodded my head hastily. I was willing to do anything and everything in my power to attain my freedom. I had a lot of things to do, to check on the Silverville pack, to bury my dead husband.
"What are his orders?" I asked, pausing to wipe the tears off my eyes.
"He wants you to freshen up..." Tamara paused to point at a small door that I assumed to be the bathroom. "Then right after that, he wants you to change into these." She averted her hands toward the direction of a white dress hung carelessly on the door. I had not noticed it earlier until Tamara had mentioned it.
All he wanted me to do was freshen up? No big deal. Without waiting to hear any more instructions from Tamara, I rushed in the direction of the bathroom. In haste, I showered and changed into the white dress.
It fitted me well, almost like it was made for him. Tamara went ahead to style my hair into a neat ponytail and applied a basic makeover to my face. I could not help but wonder what Alpha Hades was up to. Was he really going to let me go?
"You look pretty," Tamara complimented. I wanted to smile, but I was suddenly reminded of my predicament. There was absolutely nothing to smile about. I was a prisoner. I gazed at myself through the mirror on Tamara's hands. Indeed, I looked pretty, but I was confused. I looked like a lady getting ready for her wedding.
He had a poker face on as his eyes scanned the room. "Alpha Hades is in the chamber room," he started. "Waiting for his bride." Jones completed.
My eyes widened in shock at Jones' words. Bride? Was I going to be Alpha Hades' bride? I turned to gaze at Tamara and the speechless look on her face made me realize that it was true. I was about to become his captive bride.
"No." I broke down into tears as I struggled to take the dress off. "Never!" I cried out bitterly as Jones ordered some guards to grab me by the arm.
They slowly began to pull me away from the room. I struggled to break free from their grip, but they were too strong for me. I was pulled to the chamber room.
To my uttermost surprise, a crowd of werewolves was gathered quietly in the chamber room. They were all sitting on the floor as I was dragged to the front of everyone. The devil himself was already standing in front of the crowd, his eyes were on me and standing beside him was a woman dressed in a red dress.
The guards pushed me besides Alpha Hades. I fell to the floor with tears rolling down my cheeks. I began to plead. "Please let me go!"
The woman dressed in red began to chant words, they sounded like incantations and every word that flew from her mouth seemed to be directed at me.
I felt like the life in me was being drained out. I felt pain wash over me as I choked out a bitter cry. What was happening to me?
My eyesight became blurry and the sounds began to slowly fade.
As I slowly succumbed to the surrounding pandemic, the pain began to reduce, and it was the last thing I heard before surrendering to the darkness.
"I hereby crown you as Luna of the Moon Tribe pack!"
