Chapter 3 Unseen miracles

She woke up the following morning and disappeared from the apartment for her interview. She made sandwich earlier for him before she left.

'I hope to get this job this time, because now I have the responsibility of Micheal.' She thought and sighed to herself, she drank almost 30ml of water, she was always seen with ragolis water on her hand.

The moment she got there, she felt disappointment cutting through her. The firm needed a beautiful face model for their new Lara Matte lipstick launch.

That was perfect for her. She could pass for it. She had been a beauty model from her young age.

But the reason for her disappointment was, all the girls seated in the waiting area were all tastefully and expensively dressed than her. They were all stunning and where talking about the CEO of the Marvin's group of company.

"I heard their CEO is smoking sexy and single, I wish I can grab this job" she heard one girl.

"True! The picked one will be lucky." This was another girl.

A young woman in her late thirties was calling the girls one after the other for interview.

But then, someone stepped in and sat beside her.

"Look who's here! Don't waste your time honey, you won't get this job, you don't look it, just quit already"

The voice sounded familiar to her, when Diana looked up, lo and behold__ it was coco, her bestie sitting right there. close to her.

"F*ck what's this wh*re doing here?, you piss of shit"

"What are you doing here?" Diana asked her repeatedly. With fury in her expression, she wanted to kick her hard.

"Oh my darling, I'm here for the job" she moved closer to her ear and whispered, " don't tel me you don't know why I'm here Diana, we are getting married next month"

"Congratulations to that coco, it's a shame that a girl who never worked her whole life wants to get a job all of a sudden"

Coco brushed off her shoulders carelessly and wore her shades.

It Looked like Coco was out to mess her life entirely.

"Let me shock you my dear Diana, the assistant manager of this Marvin's group of company is a friend to my dear husband to be, Albert of course. He has assured us that, this job belongs to me already, now you know why I asked you to quit trying and take your miserable self elsewhere my darling"

Diana hearing these confessions, a sudden cold shiver walked down her spine. She clenched her fingers into a fist. She sat there looking hopeless but refused to leave , a miracle might happen for her probably.

"Oh my! You don't have to be disappointed my dear Diana, don't worry, i will employ you as one of my assistant probably " there was sarcasm in her sentence but Diana didn't let those ridicule words get to her. She ignored Coco and waited for her turn for the interview. But looked like Coco proved to be right.

The woman came out and announced " beautiful ladies, we are sorry for keeping you all waiting. Please you can now go back to your homes. We have appointed the most deserving person for the job. Thanks for your time "

The woman turned to Coco imidiately " miss Coco Walters"

"Yes ma'am" coco jumped on her feet , excited.

"Please come with me" Coco eyed Diana resentfully and walked along with the woman swaying her tiny waist to resent Diana.

All the girls started leaving muttering about losing the chance of meeting the handsome CEO of Marvin's group.

Ken submitted a file to Grey Walton.

"Sir here's a complete detailed report on Diana lucas but first let me brief you sir"

Grey was flipping through the pages while listening to his secretary.

"Diana is 24, she used to stay with her best friend Coco after the demise of her mother, her father married some else, and abandoned her. I learnt she's a struggling orphan hunting for survival, she used to trade gold and jewelries, people always admired her when she stepped out wearing her jeweleries, that's was how she started reading them and became successful. when she was about to marry her childhood lover, she caught him with her best friend in their apartment in a very vulgar situation.

They didn't only fooled her but they also deprived her of her valuables, money and her apartment in Greenville, because of the trust she had for him, she entrusted the ownership and everything to him. I learnt she was also saving for her wedding in the said lover's account. He took them all away. She has been job haunting and sold the few jeweleries left with her for survival. She's so broke at the moment."

This reminded Grey that she wore the same top she wore earlier to interview was the same one she wore the first time they met at the restaurant.

"sir I think that's because he didn't let her take her clothes and other things, and she has no more to buy a pin."

Grey clenched his fingers into a fist and needed to unalive Albert.

"That's not all sir, they are about getting married and will live in Diana's sweat and blood mansion. He also owns a store where every jewelry in it, was bought by Diana."

Grey became speechless and his gaze stuck on the paper, his jaw sitting firmly on his clenched fist.

"This might be of importance to you sir, her journal...." ken paused.

"What is it? What about it?" Grey raised his head up becoming more interested.

"It says, how to destroy and unalive someone without leaving traces. Does constant drinking of water subdue hunger? "

Grey wanted to laugh at the first lines and his expressions switched suddenly.

"Have we gotten a model for the launching of the new matte glossy lipstick?"

"Yes sir , but there's an issue" Grey paid attention to him.

"our assistant company manager is a friend to this said ex lover of Diana and he has employed his fiance coco as the new face of the brand sir"

"What?" Grey was astonished and sat up." this is getting more interesting, have you announced the new face of the brand for our new product?"

"Not yet sir, that will be done tomorrow sir"

"Then we have to halt for now"

"Sir?" The secretary was stunned by his order.

Grey brought out a paper from his side drawer.

"Yes you heard me clear, send an appointment letter to Diana Lucas, forward it to this address"

"Okay, consider it done sir."

Grey's glare flickered on the wall clock. She should be home by now, where could she had gone to?
