Chapter 8 (Episode 8)

In the blink of an eye, six months rolled by and the day of New Year's Eve came, but Rachel was still in a coma.

Inside Rachel's luxurious and spacious VVIP hospital ward, Rachel was seen looking very pale and lying unconscious with an IV bag fixed on her left wrist, a neck collar on her neck, an oxygen mask on her nose, a pulse oximeter on her right index finger, ECG wires on her chest, and gauze wrapped around her head.

She was surrounded by Doctor Tim and six intern doctors who were watching as Doctor Tim was busy checking her vitals.

Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon were standing behind Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors with an anxious look on their faces as they watched Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors.

After Doctor Tim finished checking Rachel's vitals, he inhaled deeply, turned his gaze to the six intern doctors, and with a straight face and a serious tone, he said, "Make sure you remember to fix her on another IV bag an hour from now, okay?"

"Yes, Doctor Tim." The six intern doctors nodded their heads and answered warmly in a unified tone.

"Good." Doctor Tim nodded at them before turning to leave.

Chairwoman Erica George Shen, who was very anxious, blocked Doctor Tim's path and said, "Doctor Tim, It's been six painful, long months that she has been like this. Why isn't she waking up yet? How long is it going to remain like this?"

Doctor Tim breathed shakily and exhaled deeply before saying, "Chairwoman Shen, I understand how you feel, but trust me when I say we are doing our very best. Why don't we go outside and talk?"

"Alright." Chairwoman Erica George Shen replied warmly before following Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors out of Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward alongside Susan Mahon.

As soon as Doctor Tim, the six intern doctors, and Chairwoman Erica George Shen, alongside Susan Mahon, walked out of Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward and closed the door, Doctor Tim and Chairwoman Erica George Shen started discussing Rachel's health while the six intern doctors and Susan Mahon listened with rapt attention.

Ten minutes later, Rachel, who was lying unconscious and breathing through the oxygen mask on her nose, started convulsing violently, making the ECG machine start sounding loudly in an emergency tone.

Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors alongside Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon were engrossed in their discussion about Rachel's health as they stood in the hallwayoutside Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward when they heard the emergency sound of the ECG machine coming from Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward.

Without wasting time, Doctor Tim and the six doctors ran into Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward while Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon followed swiftly from behind.

Stepping inside Rachel's luxurious VVIP hospital ward, Doctor Tim and the six doctors were terrified to see the flatlines displayed on the monitor of the ECG machine.

Without wasting time, Doctor Tim ran to the unconscious Rachel and checked her breathing by placing one hand on her forehead and the fingers of his other hand under the tip of her chin. He tilted her head backwards to open her airways but got no respiratory movement.

"Oh my God! She isn't breathing... She's suffering from sudden cardiac arrest." Doctor Tim exclaimed with a shaky breath as he started to perform CPR on her.

After performing the CPR for a while and getting no response, he turned to one of the intern doctors and said, "Rick, get me a defibrillator ASAP! Hurry!! We are losing her!!"

The intern doctor immediately left to get the defibrillator while Doctor Tim continued to perform CPR on Rachel.

Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon felt like the world had ended for them when they heard what Doctor Tim said to the intern doctor, and just when they were starting to crumble in despair, Doctor Tim glanced at them and gave them an assuring look that calmed their nerves a little.

A minute later, the intern doctor came back with the defibrillator in his hand, and without wasting time, Doctor Tim grabbed the defibrillator from his hand and switched it on, grabbed the electric paddles, and placed each defibrillator electrode on Rachel's chest, with one electrode on the upper right side of her chest and the other on the lower left side of her chest.

As soon as the defibrillator finished analyzing Rachel's heart rhythm and gave a sign to administer a shock, Doctor Tim immediately rubbed the electric paddles together before placing them on the defibrillator electrodes that were on Rachel's chest.

Removing the electric paddles from the defibrillator electrodes, he rubbed them together and chanted, "123 shock!" before placing them back on the defibrillator electrodes that were on Rachel's chest and kept repeating the process until an intern doctor who was paying attention to the monitor of the ECG machine excitedly said, Her vitals are back."

Sighing in relief, Doctor Tim immediately removed the defibrillator electrodes and handed the electric paddles to an intern doctor standing by his side before turning his gaze to Rachel, who inhaled deeply as she greedily sucked in as much oxygen as she could.

Doctor Tim, the six intern doctors, Chairwoman Erica George Shen, and Susan Mahon watched Rachel anxiously for five minutes before sighing heavily in relief when they saw Rachel's pale face gaining some color, her eyelashes trembling, and her right index finger moving.

"That was close... Thank God we didn't lose her." Doctor Tim said warmly as he continued to observe Rachel.

Five minutes rolled by without any sign of Rachel waking up; just when Doctor Tim was about to give up, Rachel opened her eyes slowly.

"Oh my God! She's awake!" Susan Mahon exclaimed excitedly as she grabbed Chairwoman Erica George Shen and hugged her tightly.

Meanwhile, Chairwoman Erica George Shen stood rooted on the ground in a daze as her eyes began to glisten with tears. She had been dreaming and waiting for this moment for 6 months and two weeks, and now that the moment she had been dreaming of had finally arrived, she felt her heart bubbling with emotions like "happiness, joy, sadness, and relief."

Taking a deep breath, she slowly dragged her legs towards Rachel's bed and stopped beside Doctor Tim, who was busy asking Rachel questions and scribbling down some words on Rachel's medical case file.

With tears welling up in her eyes and her lips quivering, Chairwoman Erica George Shen stretched her trembling right hand towards Rachel and placed it on Rachel's right shoulder before calling softly, "Rachel." With her voice laced with a mixture of joy and relief.

"Grandma." Rachel called softly with tears in her eyes as she sat up.

"My princess...you've suffered." Chairwoman Erica George Shen said softly, her voice shaky as she reached out to her and embraced her warmly.

"I'm so sorry, Grandma... I should have listened to you... I'm sorry for disappointing you and letting you down." Rachel stuttered, her voice breaking and laced with sadness and agony as she began to sob in Chairwoman Erica George Shen's embrace.

"It's okay. None of that matters anymore... What matters is that you are alive... Thank you for coming back to me." Chairwoman Erica George Shen replied warmly as she caressed Rachel's cheek, looked at her with love in her eyes, and used the back of her right palm to wipe Rachel's tears.

Turning her gaze to Susan Mahon, Rachel smiled at her with tears in her eyes and called softly, "Aunt Susan."

"Young Mistress, you still remember me after all these years." Susan Mahon, she said with a hoarse voice as she burst into tears and began to sob.

Seeing the way Susan Mahon was sobbing profusely, Rachel opened her mouth to say something to her, but before the words could come out of her mouth, she felt a sharp pain in her head that made her clutch her head as she screamed loudly in pain and agony.

Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors immediately rushed to Rachel to treat her while Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon stared at Rachel anxiously.

Closing her eyes, Rachel's ears became numb to the noise around her, and she felt like her head was going to overload and explode as memories of her past lives started to flood into her head and surface in her mind.

Surfing through the memories of her past lives, she discovered that she was once a world renowned racing genius called Aliya Modric, a world renowned genius Medical Doctor and all rounded Surgeon called Biya Biryani, a world renowned pianist called Ciya Svart, a world renowned Music score composer and Songwriter called Miya Hall, a world renowned genius Forex Trader called Ronald Lional, a world renowned genius Fashion Designer called Eriya Kurt who became famous as the genius fashion designer behind the powerhouse luxury clothing brand "RIYA." A world renowned genius and most wanted hacker by FBI, NSI, NBI, Interpol, and many law agencies and was called Fetrixcon, the heir of a deadly mafia organisation, called the "Trix Family." A world-renowned genius tech giant called Seth Rollins, a world-renowned genius novel and script writer called Hermonie Granger, a deadly, dangerous, and famous female assassin on earth in the late 80s called Hiyita, the leader of a deadly assassin organization called "HITA," and lastly, a world-renowned businesswoman with top-notch business acumen and deadly business strategy who had her name written in Guinness World Records as the youngest self-made billionaire in the world at age 25, winning multiple business and CEO awards. She was called Gina and died of depression at age 35 after her supposed fiancé left her for another woman after conning her of all her assets. This was the last life she lived before reincarnating as Rachel Shen.

After going through the entire memories of her eleven past lives and experiencing the feeling of their emotions, Rachel felt like her heart was going to burst as she became overwhelmed with emotions like sadness, resentment, anger, and agony.

Clenching her fists tightly, she gritted her teeth and decided to make use of the memories of her eleven past lives and use them to her advantage in her current life while vowing to never forget what happened to her in her last past life as Gina as a reminder to never let her heart beat for a man again in this, her current life.

Getting herself together, Rachel took a deep breath, opened her teary eyes, and swept her gaze across Doctor Tim, the six intern doctors, Chairwoman Erica George Shen, and Susan Mahon, whose faces wore a worried and anxious look as they stared at her.

"I have people who sincerely care about me and worry about my well-being... I can't let them down and make them worry about me by wallowing in self-pity and sorrow... I have to move on, strive forward, learn to love myself, and focus on my journey of healing and growth." Rachel said to herself inwardly while sniffling before smiling at Doctor Tim, the six intern doctors, Chairwoman Erica George Shen, and Susan Mahon as she said, "I'm fine now."

"Are you sure you are fine?" Doctor Tim, Chairwoman Erica George Shen, and Susan Mahon asked together in a unified tone, their voices laced with worry.

"Yeah, I'm fine now... I'm no longer hurting." Rachel replied, her voice warm, as her face beamed into a bright smile that reached her eyes and captivated Doctor Tim and the six intern doctors.

"Oh, Rachel, don't pretend to be strong in front of your grandmother... You aren't fine, and I know it... You were screaming loudly in pain and agony some minutes ago, so how can you say you are fine?" Chairwoman Erica George Shen said anxiously, her voice laced with concern while tucking a strand of hair behind Rachel's ear as her eyes flashed a glint of sadness, indulgence, and love.

Sighing heavily, Rachel flashed a smile at Chairwoman Erica George Shen with an assuring look in her eyes before saying, "I'm really fine, Grandma. I only screamed in pain because of the throbbing headache... If you don't believe me, you can ask the doctor."

Turning her gaze to Doctor Tim, Chairwoman Erica George Shen raised her eyebrows at him.

Understanding the meaning of her raised eyebrows, Doctor Tim immediately walked to Rachel and checked her meticulously before sighing heavily in relief as he smiled at Chairwoman Erica George Shen and said, "Miss Shen doesn't seem to have any pain that should warrant concern."

"Is that so?" Chairwoman Erica George Shen asked sternly, her voice laced with doubt.

"Yes, Chairwoman Shen." Doctor Tim nodded his head and replied in a firm but respectful tone.

"Alright then." Chairwoman Erica George Shen nodded her head and sighed heavily in relief before turning her gaze back to Rachel, staring at her with her eyes filled with love.

"So what's next?' Susan Mahon asked curiously.

"Well, Miss Shen will have to get ready to undergo her rehab, and after that, she can get discharged.

"How long is the rehab going to take?" Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon asked in a unified tone, their voices laced with concern.

"The minimum duration for rehabilitation is thirty days, while the maximum duration can last for six months up to a year... Depending on the patient and how severe their injuries were." Doctor Tim replied to Chairwoman Erica George Shen and Susan Mahon warmly.

"I see." Chairwoman Erica George Shen said softly while nodding her head in understanding.

"If there's nothing else, I'd like to take my leave now... I have to go and check on other patients." Doctor Tim said to Chairwoman Erica George Shen warmly as he prepared himself mentally to be asked another question.

"You may leave now. Thank you very much for treating my princess." Chairwoman Erica George Shen replied to Doctor Tim warmly, her voice laced with gratitude as she waved her hands as a gesture for him to leave.

Doctor Tim nodded his head, said his goodbyes, and left the luxurious VVIP hospital ward with his entourage of six intern doctors trailing from behind.

As soon as Doctor Tim left the luxurious VVIP hospital ward with the six intern doctors, Rachel, Susan Mahon, and Chairwoman Erica George Shen started chatting, laughing happily as they caught up on lost times.
