Chapter 5 Mate discovery

My head buzzed with confusion as I tried to process the entire scene.I took a step backwards, away from the liquid I was stepping in.

My gaze drifted to the liquid, and I gasped in horror as I realized the train was filled with blood.

There were a lot of lythari wolves laying lifelessly on the floor, so a whole chaos happened in one night, I thought as much.

I knew the valtors were going to attack the lythari, my heart ached gravely seeing young girls around my age been slaughtered, most of them killed between shifting into a wolf.

I let out a yelp as someone shove me aggressively to the floor.

"Get out of the way" he roared.

Rushing out of the train with speed.

The train erupted into chaos and pandemonium.

I took a glance around the train, and my heart ached with panic, my lungs glitch with fear.

I wiped the cold sweat from my forehead with the back of my palm.

Where are Rita and Eric?

I searched through the dead bodies on the floor and sigh of relief, I couldn't find Eric or Rita among the dead bodies.

Where are they?

I suddenly felt a chill dark shadow behind my back, the aura screams deadly.

my breath became heavy, the air felt suffocated to breathe.

As I slowly turn and reeled back in horror, my eyes locked with the trapped shifter werewolf who came to address us.

I took a step back, my heart beating rapidly against my chest.

His gaze was a shroud of darkness that wrapped around me, suffocating me with an unspoken warning.

"What are you doing here? everyone has gotten off from the train," he spoke, his voice sending a chill sensation to my spine.

I gulped, I tried to speak, but I couldn't find the words.

I quickly took a glimpse around the train, I was indeed alone in train.

This train was just filled with dead bodies of Lythari wolves and few Valtors.

I opened my mouth to speak, but sounds weren't coming out. The most unsettling thing about the trapped shifter was that I can't perceive his scent, instead of perceiving his scent, I feel his dark and strong aura.

"I... I am looking for my friend," I stuttered, my lungs consumed with fear. He stared at me, and for a moment, his eyes softened, which was immediately replaced with a fierce aura.

"You mean Rita and Eric?" he stated in his cold voice, making the air feel threatening to breathe. My heart immediately stopped, my jaw falling right to the floor. I clutched my jacket tightly.

How did he know their names? My mind was clouded with questions as I stared at him in horror. He noticed how confused I looked and blurted out,

"I read your mind," he said nonchalantly, standing fiercely, with a large chain tied mercilessly around his neck and hands.

He could read minds? That isn't typical for a werewolf to do, he's a sample of magic or a witch. It is rumored that only vampires and witches have the ability to read minds. If he could read minds, he is probably a hybrid wolf.

A warm feeling quickly spread across my heart, which I couldn't explain. To me, he seems trapped, he needs freedom, his soul craves it.

He noticed the warmth in my eyes, and his expression darkened, roaring heavily like a beast.

"Don't even dare," he muttered coldly, breathing heavily. I glitched back, my hands shaking with fear.

I suspected he had read my mind again.

I inhaled deeply, reassuring myself that everything was fine.

"Get down from the train,we have arrived at the Blood Moon Camp.

Join the others, or you will be left alone, eaten by rogue werewolves." He left, heading out of the train.

Rogue werewolves... but it seems unfair to leave without Rita and Eric.

I wiped my forehead, which was stripped of cold sweat.

His footsteps suddenly came to a halt.

He turned towards me, his gaze fiercely piercing my soul.

"Your friends already left. I think you should leave too."

A wave of nausea hit my stomach.

So they left without me?

I was innocently in search of them, wondering what would have happened to them, but they didn't even try to wake me up.

What if I had been killed during that battle? My heart ached slightly, but I couldn't express it.

I clenched my fist tightly. "Trust no one," I whispered coldly.

I diverted my gaze to the entrance and caught a glimpse of the shape-shifting werewolf slowly disappearing into the shadows.

How could I fight a bunch of rogue werewolves? Those crazy beasts.

I ran out of the train at high speed, and my steps suddenly came to a halt.

My gaze swept across the environment, and I was astonished by the scene.

I had never imagined that a blood moon boot camp could be so fascinating.

I gasped at the towering ancient spire buildings looming over my head, gilded by a great wall,by the sight of it, you could tell how powerful it is.

Just the sight of it makes my head fussing.

The air echoed with the murmurs and footsteps of different species of wolves heading towards the main gate leading to the camp.

I reeled back in confusion as something seemed to catch my nose.

I inhaled sharply and frowned at the smell of arsenic gas, making the air toxic.

MAGIC...

Gosh, the smell of it makes me nauseous.

It's clear that witches are present, or there's a werewolf practicing magic.

I stomped off and hurriedly joined the crowds, in order not to get lost.

Upon arriving, I merged with the crowds and followed them inside the Blood Moon Boot Camp.

Upon arriving at the gate, I gasped at the size of the werewolves protecting it. Their size was three times that of a bear.

Armed with medieval morning star weapons, they stood fiercely guarding the gate.

I tilted my head down and went in.

We entered through the gate and were surrounded by great walls looming over us,the space was enough to accommodate 500,000 werewolves.

My gaze wandered to the wall, and I winced at the bloodstains.

It's clear that werewolves have been brutally murdered.

We were immediately stopped by some trapped shape-shifters,the whole crowd came to a halt, silence sweeping through the air like a desert, making it seem as if a graveyard was rowdy.

My ears couldn't help but pick up on two female werewolves gossiping.

"What's going to happen now?"

"I think the Lycan King is coming to address us."

"Do you think he's handsome?"

"Fool, we are at a pile of death, and you are thinking about his looks, Rebecca?"

I took a quick glance at Rebecca and scoffed slightly, she was indeed a fool in a situation like this-admiring comes last.

We suddenly heard boisterous footsteps approaching the crowd.

My gaze swiftly turned to the footsteps, and my heart beat rapidly against my chest.

I stared at the muscularly built werewolf approaching the crowd, accompanied by some moon soldiers. His piercing blue eyes gleamed with an icy intensity, his waist-length hair was as white as wool, his skin was as pale as snow, and his lips were as red as dragon fruit.

His sharp, pointed nose was framed by his thick eyebrows.

His presence exuded a deadly aura, his features powerful and deadly, like those of an Adonis.

They came to a halt, his fierce eyes scanned the crowd, and his aura was shrouded in darkness.

I felt a surge of excitement within me, my wolf... I suddenly heard Lyla scream with excitement, "MATE!"
