Chapter 4 Crazy Leo

She broke down "how am i going to show up at the company looking like a ragged doll?" She said in between tears. But she gathered her courage too a bath and put on a long sleeve turtle neck top.

applied lots of her cheap makeup to cover her cheeks and put on a black sunshade. When she got to the company, milla and ella almost threw up in shock!

As she passed by they busted into laughter "looking good to impress president Ryan huh? But am sorry he won't look at a miserable looking thing like you and even if he does, you are just nothing but a blown up doll"

milla sneered and the other staffs echoed in laughter. Kaina fists clenched but she didn't reply and simply smiled and continued her journey upstairs.

"Arrrrghhh that bitch! I can't just stand her holier than thou attitude" a staff said in frustration.

When kaina got to her office, she quickly put together the morning report and headed to Ryan's office. "Good morning sir, here is the report" she dropped it quickly and turned to hurry away.

"Stop!" He commanded with a strong voice making her halt in her tracks. "Is there anything else sir?" She asked in the bravest tone she could muster although she was shaking.

"As my secretary you cant come in here looking like a cheap harlot go take those garbage off they disgust me" he said and waved at her to leave.

Kaina felt the corners of her eyes burn as tears stung them, as she hurried back without looking where she was going, she barged into some one.

"Am so sorry please" she apologised and made to hurry away but her wrist was gripped "its Ryan new secretary! The beauty how are you today" Leonard cooed.

Kaina looked up abruptly, it was the guy in Ryan's office yesterday! She lowered her head again and quickly swallowed back her tears. "Hey am fine thank you" she replied in a cracked voice.

"What is your name? Are you okay?" He asked squinting at her. "I'm kaina! Am okay thanks" she replied still looking at her feet. He raised her face with her chin to look at him

"you are on make up and glasses today! Can i see beneath the glasses?" He said raising his hand to take it off. Instinctively she slapped his hand and scurried away.

"sorry!" She shouted as she was about to enter her office and banged the door behind her.

Leonard was stunned! Did he do something bad?

He shrugged and entered Ryan's office.

"Hey bro! Your secretary........is everything okay?" He asked as soon as he entered. "No greetings you Buffon? Ryan asked looking up at him with a cold glance.

Cold shivers ran down his spine "jeez Ryan! What's up with you this morning? First it was your secretary now you what's up with everyone this morning?" Leonard said settling down on the sofa.

"I guess that is how you greet now" Ryan said and continued his work ignoring Leonard.

Meanwhile, when kaina got to her office the tears flowed. She blamed herself for running into marriage not regarding love the most important aspect.

When she got home in the evening, the table was already set. She quickly hurried through her bath as she was famished. She rarely had her meals during work, when it was brought to her she just threw them away.

As she was eating, Ryan walked in and walked straight past her as if no one was there.

When he came back downstairs, she was still picking on her food so he just took a seat opposite her. He didn't see her face until she raised her head to and stretched her hand to pick up a glass of water.

He spat his food out in surprise when he saw her "who did this to you?" He asked. Kaina was stunned! Was he dumb or just pretended to be?

"Yesterday you......" She spluttered then it hit him! Did he really beat her up to this extent? Was she that fragile? "Its good you doled up this morning if not i would have vomited! I've lost my appetite!

He slammed his plate on the table and stormed off. Tears fell from her eyes into the food she was holding. She stood up slowly and walked back to her room with shaky steps.

When she got to the company the next day, she met Leonard in front of her office. "Hey its the damsel kaina! Still on makeup how was your night?" He asked. She cleared her throat

"am fine Leo thanks!" She replied faking a forced smile. "Woah! She called me leo! Care sharing your contact damsel?" He said grinning like a fool.

Kaina refused but he was persistent insisting she won't enter her office if she don't. So reluctantly she gave him expecting him to leave the way but he didn't.

"What else?" She asked a frown gradually etching her face. "Miss kaina are you being abused? You look more weird than the first time we met" Leonard said attempting to take off her glasses again.

She looked around, he was blocking her way to her office so she ran into the nearest restroom. "Keep running kaina, we will soon know what is going on" he grinned and headed to Ryan's office.

After staying for an hour in the restroom, she peeped and saw leonard was out of the way so she quickly ran into her office.

As she arranged the morning report she was panicking and praying that Ryan will not be too mad at her. As she neared the office, she heard the sounds of laughter

"wait! Does Ryan laughs?" She asked herself in disbelief. "Good morning sir" she greeted, dropped the files and quickly scurried away to the amusement of Leonard. Was that how scared she is of Ryan.

"Guyyyyy even your secretary is even afraid of you! You're just so scary" he joked but Ryan just ignored him.

When kaina got home, she checked her face in the mirror. It was healing already, in a few days she won't have to wear make up again. She smiled in satisfaction as she was still admiring herself her phone pinged.

It was from an unknown number "hey kaina beauty! How was your day at work? Don't mind the chameleon Ryan, hope he didn't stress you?" It read. "Who is it? Leo! He's the only person that dares insult Ryan" Kaina thought and quickly typed back.

"Hey Leo! Is that you?" And she got a reply almost immediately "yes beauty its me! Are you at home? Care if i can come around?" He asked. Kaina smiled she was about typing her address to him when it hit her!

He's Ryan's best friend! "Oh you're such a fool kaina! What If he does come around and find out i am married to Ryan? Ryan will surely behead me on the spot!" She scolded herself and dropped her phone but Leonard kept typing and even called but she silenced the phone and slept off.

The next morning as soon as she stepped out of the cab that brought her to the company, a blue sleek Lamborghini stopped in front of the company almost immediately. As she turned to enter she heard squeals and looked back. It was Leonard!

He is a model too although not as popular as Ryan who was ranked most handsome in the country but he ranked third thereabout and anytime he appeared in public he always disguises except he is shooting or going clubbing.

But today, he appeared without any disguise and made girls squeal and tumble over to take pictures. Kaina quickly turned sharply and began to hurry into the company but it was too late.

"Kaina beauty! Wait up for me!" He shouted but she pretended not to hear and walked faster. But he didn't give up! He ran up to her and grasp her wrist as soon as she reached the revolving doors. Leonard ran to catch up with a girl! It will surely make up the headlines for weeks!

"Kaina! Why didn't you pick my calls or texts yesterday? You must explain to me today!" He shouted as he dragged her along the corridor towards the elevator. Milla and Ella mouth dropped open.

Kaina couldn't believe her eyes as Leonard, without any disguise, grabbed her wrist and dragged her towards the elevator.

She was overwhelmed with a mixture of fear and curiosity, wondering why he was so persistent in finding out what was going on. As they entered the elevator, she finally mustered the courage to speak.
