Chapter 5 AN ENCOUNTER WITH MY MATE

Damian POV

After the battle between nightfall pack and crescent moon pack.

The army of the nightfall pack retreated back to their pack, they didn't expect I would be so ruthless without mercy, it caught them by surprise.

"That coward Richard, he wasn't even present in the battle" I scoffed "pathetic" I said.

Zachery walked into my office with some documents, he gave them to me.

The documents contain the amount of death that occurred and the amount of injury that occurred.

We sustained 30 deaths and 43 injuries, I myself included.

"Send words to the families" I said

Especially to Lucius' family.

Lucius has served me for some years now, he was a loyal member to me and the pack.

"Alpha Damian, I've been meaning to ask you" Zachery said.

"Yes Zachery"?

"You do not have a mate and you have rejected all the women that was presented to you, your aunty Leticia even brought a woman for you but you still rejected,could it be you do not want or you haven't felt the connection you need, you know you need a Luna by your side alpha"? Zachery asked with a little grin on his face.

"Yes Zachery I know, perhaps the moon goddess hasn't given me a mate yet, but time will tell" I replied.

The last sliver of sunlight bled out above the sky...night had arrived....

"It's time"..... I told zachery. "Prepare the men" I ordered. "Yes alpha" Zachery replied.

I need to reach the nightfall pack before the full moon.

During the full moon I won't be able to control my wolf tempest and I fear what he would do to my men if we didn't reach nightfall pack in time.

We headed off the pack as I go pay alpha Richard a visit. A sinister grin crept on my face, I knew it won't end well for him.

Richard POV

In my office waiting for news from my men, I ordered Leon to kill them all, spare none of them even if it means killing Alpha Damian.

I felt unease, "they taking forever".... I said underneath my breath

KNOCK, KNOCK... I heard a knock on my office door. "Come in" I said with impatience.

One of the guards rushed in with fear written all over him, blood all over his face and body.

I stood up from my chair, with disbelief "what happened" I asked.

He..he..." He stammered". "SPEAK YOU FOOL" I yelled with anger.

"Leon is dead alpha" the guard said.

My eyes went wild in disbelief " how is this possible!" I said.

"Alpha Damian, he sluttered them all, he's a monster, he is ruthless..,alpha Richard"

My Eyes went wide, frozen, I stumbled back looking at the guard in disbelief.

Immediately I picked up my phone and dialed Jimmy parkers number.

"Hello alpha Richard" jimmy replied in a split second.

"Jimmy, the plan was a total failure, you put my life, my families life and my pack in danger!" I yelled.

"Jimmy giggled...alpha, alpha, alpha, I thought you claimed to have the best men there is"? Jimmy said.

"How I watched your men fall as Damian killed them all"

"Jimmy!, I need your help right now, alpha Damian will probably be on his way here to slutter all of us" I said with anger

"How is that my problem"? Jimmy laughed loudly "people are meant to used" Jimmy said.

My heart pounding in my chest, sweat slicked my palm.

"How dare you betray me jimmy, we had a deal"

"Goodbye Richard, I have plans on becoming king and I don't plan on dying anytime soon, hope you will be alive to live the moment" Jimmy said mockingly and hanged up.

"DAMN IT!" I yelled while throwing everything off my desk, my fist clenched.

Selene my wife ran into my office with a worried face.

"My alpha, what's the problem" her eyes filled with worry.

"you have to go now! I replied.

"Why" she replied.

"I don't have time to explain but you have to go now!" I yelled.

Was about leaving my office I heard sounds of paws hitting the ground.

"THUMP-THUMP-THUMP-THUMP"

Like dozen of drums beating at once,getting louder as they approach.

AWOOH! The sound of howling was heard.

Mum! Emily voice was heard at the entrance of my office.

"What's happening?" Emily asked with a shaky voice.

"Everything is fine honey go find your sister Vivian and stay together" she said.

Emily ran towards her room with Amy by her side.

A sharp scream was heard outside, a sudden scream that echoed with a mix of agony.

I dashed out of my office immediately.

Damian POV

We reached the nightfall pack and the attack had begun, I ordered my men, ruthlessly kill anyone that comes in there way.

I looked up the sky and the full moon was hanging low.

My transformation during the full moon was always painful.

My body jerked as the full moon washed over me. A sharp pain ripped through my spine, causing me to double over, gasping for air. My bones began to crack, twisting and stretching,

as if they were breaking and reforming in an instant. My hands, once human, started to contort, fingers elongating, nails turning into sharp claws.

With a blink of an eye tempest was in control, his eyes red.

With a split second I started tearing the flesh of nightfall park members, slicing their throat off.

I grab two more, chopped off there heads throw them away.

I got a glance at alpha Richard and his wife selene, I ran towards his direction, slicing the throat of anyone who comes in my way.

I was gaining on them, from the corner of my eyes I saw a female girl running into the woods, I ignored her, my eyes focused on getting to Richard.

A menacing growl escaped my lips and in a flash, I reached Richard and dived towards him, held him by the neck.

"Nooo please!" Selene begged,Her eyes were wide, unblinking, pupils dilated with terror and pain.

With no pity I bit of the neck of Richard, tempest was still in control, his urge for blood was uncontrollable.

I threw Richard away facing selene, "THUMP-THUMP" I faced selene

"Emily, run!" my mother screamed, her voice cracking with terror as the heavy paws of the beast who had crashed closer faced her.

With out thinking twice, tempest sliced off selene throat cutting it deep to kill her.

The full moon, once hanging low in the sky was now beginning to fade, its light softening as it slipped into the waning phase.

I could feel myself taking control over tempest.

I transformed back into human form, sniffing the air, following the scent of the female who ran into the woods,for some reason I was unable to resist her.

I faced the female who was running into the woods.

I started towards the woods the girl had gone,

following her every scent, she seems to be human, when I was few distance away I noticed she had stopped running.

I could hear her heart pounding rapidly,

"Alpha!!" Zachery yelled my name, I turned and glanced at him, he had transformed back into his human form.

I kept moving forward to the girl, her heart still pounding, I reached where she was, I could hear her words,

"Please" she sobbed while begging to the moon goddess. "Please, I can't die like this"

her mouth wide open in disbelief by the sight that befell her.

"Who are you?" she said with a shaky voice.

"You...you are human" I said with a bit of surprise.

She Stared at me with conflicted eyes....

And standing before me, I was stunned by the sight that befalls me....
