Chapter 4 War of Wolves: The Battle for Survival

Richard POV

Minutes later, all the men I ordered Leon to gather were waiting for me in the training ground.

I walked into the training ground, they all gave me a bow. "All hail alpha Richard!" They all said in unison.

"I called you all here today for the fi ght for freedom!"

"The fight for our people" I said with authority.

"Nightfall pack has suffered a huge blow for a long time now, we lack stable natural resources to help our people, the food we produce is hardly enough for our people!" I yelled.

"Today we fight for our people"

My hands are placed at my back as I walk around the training ground. Aimlessly.

"We fight for Honor"

"We fight for freedom"

"We fight for salvation"

"We fight for NIGHTFALL PACK!"

I could feel confidence in the atmosphere and on my men.

"I do not promise all of you will come back alive or unharmed,lives will be lost, injuries will be inevitable but in the ends VICTORY" I said calmly

FOR VICTORY!!! I screamed

FOR VICTORY!!! My men said in unison.

Damian POV

It Hasn't been up to 4 hours since Alpha Richard left my office on request. I should give the nightfall pack half of my land resources. I smirked

"Over my dead body" I said.

I was signing some documents on my desk when my Beta, zachery ran into my office.

Zachery looked like he had seen a ghost.

"Zachery,What the problem"? I was concerned.

"Alpha Damian, our sensors picked up a pack of wolves heading our direction" Zachery said with a bit of a shaky voice.

My eyes grew wide as I heard the news.

"Gather the men immediately and prepare for battle" I said with urgency

"What will happen to the pack of wolves?" Zachery asked.

"WE WILL KILL THEM ALL!" I said with an evil grin.

Zachery my Beta has always known me to be ruthless against my opponent, I show no mercy.

Few minutes later, we could hear the louds thuds, paws of the wolves were growing closer and closer I dashed out of my office, removed my shirt and pants and immediately shifted into my wolf

I could feel tempest taking control, tempest was the name of my wolf.

I stopped halfway, my men all lined up behind me, waiting for my order to attack.

I howled.... Awooh!!!

We dashed into the battlefield, tempest was bloodthirsty. Without thinking, I reached out for the first one, slitting its throat with my Claws, cutting it deep enough to kill it.

In a blink of an eye I grabbed 3 more wolves, and I snapped their necks.

With the side of my eyes I saw a wolf running aggressively towards me, he dived at me using my hand as a shield, he bit my forearm, making me bleed, I could see blood dripping, with a split second I grabbed it by the neck, split it and tossed it deep into the woods.

My eyes scanning the battlefield, bodies dropping in a split second, my eyes met with my Gamma, Lucius.

Lucius got bitten in the neck and his skin was torn apart, LUCIUS! I screamed.

With anger in me, I grabbed 3 more wolves, I didn't mind ripping the head from their shoulders . In a flash I ripped out the head of the 3 wolves, I could feel tempest anger grow.

I ran towards the direction of the wolf who killed Lucius, I dived without thinking twice.

I was about to rip its head off, when I recognized the wolf.

LEON! My eyes grew wide as I realized this was an attack from a nightfall pack.

"Richard attacked my pack" I yelled

The sign on Leon's forehead was the sign of the nightfall pack wolves army.

With fury in my eyes I ripped off the head of Leon, slit his throat and threw him away.

The nightfall pack wolves began to retreat.

I took control over tempest and transformed back.

Zachery! I screamed.

"Yes alpha" he replied

Gather the rest of the men, at the full moon tonight, we attack the nightfall pack.

"Yes alpha," Zachery replied.

I stood in the battlefield, looked around seeing my men lifeless on the soil... I could feel my blood boiling, fist balled.

I reminisced the conversation I had with alpha Richard "Alpha Richard attacked my pack because I refused to give him half of crescent moon pack land resources" I said underneath my breath.

" Why would Alpha Richard attack our pack" Zachery asked with concern.

"I refused to give him half of crescent moon pack resources" I replied.

"Why would he then try to take it by force Alpha?"

"Mm-mm" I exhaled, "I do not know Zachery" I said coldly.

"When last did you see my uncle Jimmy" I ask

"I haven't seen your uncle for some days now alpha"

"I see" I replied.

"Alpha Damian, you're bleeding," Zachery informed me. As I looked at my forearm, blood dripped out of my hands.

"I'll be fine, Zachery," I said.

"No alpha you need to get stitched up" Zachery insisted.

"Do not worry, Zachery, have you forgotten I have quick healing"? I smirked.. "gather all the men who secured injuries in the battle" I told zachery.

I cared about my men as I cared for myself, they were like family to me.

They've always been loyal servant's ever since I became king, especially Zachery.

I held the shoulder of my Beta zachery "you have always been a loyal Zachery, you are like a brother to me" I said.. tapping his shoulders a little smile crept on Zachery lips. I chuckled...

"Thank you alpha, it is a huge pleasure fighting alongside you alpha Damian" Zachery replied, giving me a bow. I gave him a nod..

"Come... let's prepare for battle" I said while walking away.
