Chapter 4 CHAP 3

We're still here at GW after Queen left. I've been holding my breath since earlier because of the cold, piercing look she gave me. Even now, I'm still sweating from fear

Ever since the Dominions Union was divided, this is the first time we've seen Queen. The Dominions Union refers to everyone living in the Gangster Palace, which is the main territory for all the gangsters, though we don't know its exact location

Anyway, there's no doubt she's truly a Queen

She spoke in a chilling manner, and her dangerous words were unmistakable earlier. Even with a mask on, you could still see the coldness and lack of emotion in her eyes

Yet, despite their years of leadership in GW, no one knows who they really are. Those three women are very enigmatic, and no matter how many battles and meetings we've had, they still refuse to take off their masks. All we know are their codenames

As I was looking around earlier, my gaze was drawn to a woman sitting next to Queen. She was incredibly beautiful, even with her face covered by a mask. Her brown hair was tied up, and her natural beauty was evident

I was a bit taken aback when I realized that the woman I had been watching was also looking at me. So, I quickly averted my gaze and focused on what Queen was saying instead

"She hasn't changed at all, still as cold as ever,"Blake muttered

"Yeah, and who are they really? After all these years, we still don't know their names or what they look like"

"We'll find out soon enough,"King answered

"Anyway, I'm not in the mood to fight right now because I'm still dealing with jetlag and I need to find someone"

"Who are you looking for, your girlfriend?,"Blake teased

"Come on, I don't have a girlfriend! I'm looking for my sister. And if I did have a girlfriend that she didn't know about, she might kill me"

"Wow, bro, scared of your sister? What about that ex-girlfriend of yours, does she know?,"Blake asked teasingly

I used to have an ex-girlfriend, and she has no idea about it. If she finds out, I don't know what to do

"No, she doesn't, and that's what I'm worried about,"I said with a sigh

"Wait a second, do you really have a sister?,"It seemed like it just sank in for them now. I nodded, they didn't know I had a sister because I hadn't told them

"W-what? How?,"King said, sounding incredulous. I just shrugged my shoulders

"Is she younger than you, I suppose?,"Blake asked, and I smiled

"No, she's the same age as me,"I said, surprising them even more

"Wait a minute, Zyker, how did you end up with a sister who's the same age as you, and no one knows about it?,"King asked, confused. I sighed before explaining

"Well, here's the thing, our parents kept her a secret. I knew I had a sister, but I didn't really understand why this happened. All I know is that Dad doesn't trust her because she's a girl and doesn't know anything about business, so he treats her coldly even now. She also studied somewhere else and used disguises, not using our family name so no one would recognize her. And Dad told me not to tell anyone,"I explained

They both looked at me in disbelief and cursed in unison

"What the-Is your dad really that old-fashioned, Zy?,"Blake asked incredulously

"Unbelievable! And all these years, your parents still been hiding her?,"King added

I didn't understand why they were doing this. I was the one hurting for what they did to my twin. I could really feel that she had changed, she wasn't the bubbly sister I used to know. Now, she was cold, distant, and indifferent to everything, not caring about anything at all

"Has Tita Sam doesn't done anything about this?,"Blake asked

"No, but I can feel that she's hurting too, but she just doesn't respond when I ask her,"I replied. I really sense that they are hiding something from us. Plus, the argument between Dad and her earlier-I need to know what that was about

"That's why whenever I run into Tita at meetings, her smiles seem so fake,"Blake said, since his parents are investors in Mom's boutique

I feel it too, Mom's face lights up when she sees Twin happy. But I can also see the pain in her eyes and the guilt of hiding something from her own child

And Dad seems blinded by his growing business, not caring if his actions have hurt his family

"Why did you say she's studying somewhere? Don't you know where?,"King asked

"No, she never told us where, so we have no way to contact her. After Grandpa passed away when she was about ten years ago, she just left without a word, only leaving a note that she would be studying elsewhere. We don't know why, but she just sends a letter every year. We can't reach her, we can't find her, and even with all the private investigators Dad hired, we still don't know where she is. She only came home when she turned 18"

I don't know why Dad became like that towards her, because when Twin was 5 years old, they were really close, and we were all happy as a complete family

We used to joke around together as a family of four, but when Twin and I turned 9, Dad's attitude changed. He became distant and cold, ignoring Twin, who would often cry and hide in her room. I also grew distant from her because Dad would always take me to business meetings

But what I love most about Twin is that she's not selfish, she's a very understanding sister. There was a time when Dad was always taking me to meetings, so I couldn't take care of her, but she reassured me that it was okay and that she was fine. That's why I treasure her so much

"Your sister really knows how to hide, can you believe it took her 8 years to come back home?,"Blake said

"Yeah, and those 8 years changed her-I mean, not completely. But she's not the bubbly sister I once knew, she always has a poker face and rarely smiles. It's like she's trying to be independent, and now I can truly say she is. Her coldness has even worsened, she's distant and emotionless,"I murmured

"That bad, huh?,"King remarked

"Yeah,"I replied with a sigh as I stood up

"Anyway, I'm going to head out. I still need to find her,"I said before leaving. I figured she was already at the mansion since it was 2 AM

A few minutes later, I arrived at the mansion and walked inside. I saw my parents in the living room, sipping coffee. They always do this because of their early work schedule, or maybe it's just a habit

"Hey Mom, Dad, is Twin already home?"

"Yes, son, she's in her room,"Mom answered

"Thanks, Mom. Excuse me,"I said as I headed towards her room. I knocked on the door three times, and it swung open

"What are you doing here?,"she asked coldly, though she left the door open. She was sitting in her chair, facing her computer, and I couldn't see what she was doing. She was already in her pajamas, ready for bed

"I'm sorry,"I said softly, causing her to look at me with a furrowed brow

"What for?,"she asked, raising an eyebrow

"About earlier, I-I didn't have the courage to tell you because-"

"Because you think I'll judge you?,"she interrupted, and I nodded quietly

"Point taken, but who am I to stop you from being happy? If you think I would be disgusted by you for killing someone, no. In fact, it's a relief for me because I won't have to worry so much about keeping an eye on you from those who want to harm you,"I barely caught the last part of what she said

"What was that last thing you said?,"I asked, genuinely not hearing her

"Oh, it was nothing. Anyway, is there anything else?,"she asked blankly, and it felt like a stab to my heart. I was trying to hold back my tears, but they started flowing

She has really changed...

I saw her squeeze her eyes shut and mutter something softly before she stood up, came over to me, and wiped my tears away

"You know, I hate seeing you cry in front of me,"she murmured before hugging me tightly, whispering "I miss you, Twin" I hugged her back just as tightly, my tears still streaming down

I miss her so much, it's been three years since I last held her

"I miss you too, Twin, and I'm sorry,"I whispered softly

"Shh, it's okay. Don't cry you'll look ugly,"she said, pulling away from the hug. Finally, I saw her smile

"By the way, I want you to meet my gangmate tomorrow,"I said happily. She shook her head, leaving me confused

"No, anyway, I've already enrolled at Z.R University, but I'm planning to dress as a nerd tomorrow"

"What? Disguise? No, you can't-"

"Twin, it's fine. If they know too much about me, that's a big problem,"she interrupted what I was about to say

That's what I admire about her, she always puts others before herself

"Twin, can you please prioritize yourself for once?,"I complained

"Nope, and besides, you're here, so you'll protect me, right?,"she said with a grin, which made me smile

"Yes, but it's better if they get to know you-"

"They will, but not right now,"she smirked and returned to her computer. Seriously? What is she planning now?

"Arghh! Fine, but don't do anything reckless, lady,"I warned her with a glare as I sat down on the empty couch, and she just smiled

I sighed

"Isn't there another disguise you could use that isn't nerdy? Because they'll just bully you for being a nerd and a transferee,"I said, raising her eyebrows

"What do you mean bully? Isn't there's a rule against bullying other students?,"she asked, raising an eyebrow

"That one rule they don't follow,"I replied, and she frowned

"Since when?,"she asked, when was that?

"I can't remember exactly, but I think it was my first day of college"

"And you didn't report it?,"she raised an eyebrow, and I shook my head

"Really, Zyker?,"she said, annoyed

"Well, it wasn't really taken seriously by the higher-ups there,"I replied, and her brow furrowed in confusion

"How come they're not enforcing the rules?,"she asked

"Well, Rhea Mae Zorrilla is known as the biggest bully at Z.R. She's the leader of the rank 6 gang, and there are rumors that she owns the University. Ever since she claimed to be the owner, her bullying has escalated, especially towards the nerdy transfer students"

"And you didn't do anything about it?,"she said, raising her eyebrow again

"We were afraid she might kick us out if we got involved, since she claims to be the owner,"I shrugged

"And you believed her?,"I nodded

"That's the worst thing you've done. Let me be clear, Twin, Ms. Zorrilla is NOT the owner of Z.R University,"she said

"You know her?,"I asked

"Yes very,"she said while smirking

"How?"

"Don't ask too many questions. By the way, we have something to do this Saturday, so whatever you're doing, just postpone it,"she said, and I furrowed my brow

"I'm free this Saturday, but where are we going?"

"To Dad's company,"she replied, and my brow furrowed even more

"Why do we need to go there?"

"There's a big problem at Dad's company"

"What?"

"Base on my investigation of the financial report, the company did not make a proper profit last year. However, according to surveys and research, many people prefer products from AFS Company compared to others,"she said, ALLURE FRAGRANCE SCENT COMPANY

"Yes, there were some issues last year and the sales did decline due to the failure of some products. But the expenses incurred due to these faulty products were recovered once the production was improved. So what is the problem now?"

"That's what everyone thought that the sales declined because of product failures. But according to my investigation, the actual problem lies within the company itself"

"What do you mean?"

"Someone in the company make it happened"

"So, you mean someone inside made mistakes in the decrease of sales?"

"It's not really a mistake, because someone really planned it"

"What? So someone-"

"What do you think?"

I clenched my fist, they really want to bring down Dad's company. I sighed and looked at her

"How did you find out all about this?"

"Connections, and don't ask,"she said while diverting her eyes in her computer

"What are you doing?,"I asked, she's really busy looking at her computer

"Just checking the guards outside,"she replied, oh right, the bodyguards earlier

"Did they really work for you?,"she looked at me curiously

"Yes, why?,"she asked

"So, you're some kind of boss of an agency?"

"Why do you say that?,"she questioned directly

"Because earlier, they seemed really scared of you, and they called you 'Boss,' so that means something, right?"

She stared at me for a moment, as if trying to read my thoughts, before she smiled and responded

"It seems that a Demonic Reaper is quite observant, and yes, you're correct, I am the boss of an agency,"she said

So did she also know how to fight? Like a real fight?

"So you know how to fight as well? Like fighting different people or, um, killing them? Because from what I see, those bodyguards outside aren't just ordinary guards, they seem to be highly trained, like they're part of some organization?,"I inquired, and she paused typing, returning her gaze to me

"Kind of, and the people in my agency are high class, so it's natural for them to go through intense training. They're responsible for people's lives, that's why,"she said

"You didn't answer my first question, you know-"

"Yes,"she interrupted, and looked at me

"My answer is yes, kill, fight, torture? Yes, I can and I know how. I'm a boss, remember?,"she shrugged her shoulders as if it were no big deal

Wow, instead of being shocked by what she said, I admire her even more. She's really impressive

"So when are you going to tell them you're a gangster?,"she asked, referring to our parents

I sighed

"I don't know, what if they despise me? What if-"

"Stop with the 'what ifs,' Twin. If they don't accept you, then so be it. They're not the ones doing what you do. If they do accept you, then that's even better"

"And besides, I'm still here. We're even. Just don't tell them about mine, I'll share it when I'm ready,"she added

"No problem. By the way, you mentioned 'my agency' earlier. Does that mean you have your own agency?,"I asked her. If that's true, wow, she really changed a lot

"What do you think?,"she asked with a playful smile, and my eyes widened slowly

"Really? Like, for real?"

"Yeah, but don't ask for the name because I won't tell you,"she replied with a grin, and I frowned

"Ugh! Whatever,"I complained, and she just laughed

"Come on, get up. It's already 3 in the morning and we have class at 8,"she said, yawning as she stood up and climbed onto her king-size bed

I got up too, but I walked over to her bed and kissed her on the forehead

"Good mornight, Twin. I love you,"I mumbled. She chuckled, her eyes still closed

"Good mornight to you too, Twin. I love you always,"she said softly. I smiled and went to my room to get some sleep....
