I picked up my velvet turtle neck and thrust it to my skin wriggling my hands to get it down... Dressing up in the morning is always such a hassle that I never wish to do it. Myron crossed my mind as I padded down the stairs, I was reminded of our first night together when I passed his room and got splashed by the rosy scent of his cologne...
"Damn, he's such a hottie but a mean jerk," I mumbled.
"Did I hear you call my name just now?" He asked over my shoulder, his breath brushed past me. I gulped a large chunk of saliva down my oesophagus.
"Hi, Myron." I greeted waving at him like a kindergartner.
He ignored me and walked out.
I just dragged my arm down and pretended like nothing happened to avoid staying on the lips of the maids throughout the day. Still, some were whispering while looking suspiciously at me. It's not a new thing because I've been going through this phase every day.
I just smiled sheepishly at them and walked away.

Mom was with her friends peeling onions when I walked in unannounced, I sweep a "Hi" across and walked inside because I didn't want to answer any of their questions.
"Arrde, why do you look so gloomy?" My mom asked as she dropped the basket of peeled onions on the floor.
"Where are your friends?" I returned a question.
"They're gone. I sensed that you were not in a good mood so I asked them to leave..." She paused and walked closer to have a better view of me, "Are you feeling well? Is there something bothering you that you would want to talk about?"
I wish that I could tell her about the divorce papers, but it would only add to her worries and that's not what I want for her. I looked away from her and smiled trying to look alright.
" I'm fine. Don't worry about me, Alpha Myron is taking good care of me."
She smiled, "That's so sweet of him. Take some of these fresh cabbages home and treat him to a nice meal, my regards to him."
"I'll do that some other time." I said, "I've got somewhere else to be and I'll be returning late."
Somehow she knew something was wrong from the way she stared suspiciously at me, but I tried as hard as I could to sound okay.
"I'm leaving... Bye."
I didn't have anywhere else to go, so I decided to take a walk down the streets to unwind and probably reach a decision. My phone rang...
"Where were you?" Myron barked the moment I stepped inside my room.
"I went to visit my mom. She sent her regards..."
"Have you signed those papers?"
"Not yet... We need to talk, Myron."
" Talk about what, Arrde? "
" About us... Are you giving up on us already? It has been just two years and you've grown on me. Are you saying you were never serious with me? "
" There's nothing between both of us and I'm not feeling anything for you, Arrde."
" But... "
" Sign those papers, my lawyer will get them from you tomorrow. " Myron spilled and shut the door behind him.
I wanted to go after him, but I will later when he is calm. I fell on my bed and drifted off to sleep.
The sound of my alarm woke me up. I checked the time and it was late into the night. I slept that long and forgot about dinner, so I'll just get myself a hot chocolate drink and then talk to Myron in his room.
My palms felt warm from the sizzling heat emanating from the glass filled with hot chocolate drink while I dragged my feet upstairs memorizing the right words to use on Myron to avoid displeasing him.
"Why is she still here?"
I paused immediately to process the voice I just heard.
"She'll be gone soon, I ordered her to sign the divorce papers and deliver it to my lawyer in the morning," Myron replied in his hoarse voice.
The voice sounded familiar... I nearly burst into his room to confront both of them, but I restrained myself to be sure of who I was dealing with.
" Arrde is my best friend, but I can't stand her anymore. I detest her." The familiar voice spoke up again.
My feet felt numb when I heard those words come out from someone I considered my best friend... So, Percy is the reason Myron is pushing for a divorce.
Reality struck me when I realized that Myron was cheating on me with Percy. I tried hard to fight back the tears welling up in my eyes as I clenched my teeth and tightened my fist to control the anger and pain that was burning within me.
"Stop thinking about her... Let's talk about us." Myron said and I heard both of them giggle. He was probably cuddling her.
Regaining consciousness from the shock I felt and the stinging pain of the hot chocolate drink that spilt on my feet, I ran to my room for solace. The tears were gone, but my heart was shredded into tiny bits.
I heard a knock on my door, it was Myron knocking consistently.
"Arrde, open up!" He ordered.
I ignored him and lay face down on my bed but he teleported himself inside and walked to my bedside, "Why did you eves drop on my conversation with Percy?" He asked.
"We'll talk about this later, I'm tired and don't have the energy to say anything right now," I replied.
He grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me up, "There's no later, you do as I say!"
"Let go of my wrist, you barbarian!" I yelled at him for the first time in my entire life.
" Did you just yell at me? " Myron asked taken aback.
" I can do that again."
" Not in my house, I'm your Alpha and you must listen to me!"
" Well then, Myron... I'll leave your house for good rather than listen to you or do whatever you want."
I flung the divorce papers at him and left his house that night without looking back. I've had enough in his hands already, so I'll choose my peace over anything else.

FIVE YEARS LATER
"Arrde, I've emailed you a proposal from a potential client. You're meeting with him in the next five minutes to discuss the process." Sara, my assistant said.
" I checked it earlier and I would like to talk about it with the client before approving it."
" Okay, ma'am. "
" Get my things ready."
" Sara, tell me about this client. "
" He's influential and I heard he invests a huge amount in a company depending on how impressed he will be. "
" That's not my business, I have enough to run my company."
" Good morning, Chair lady." Everyone greeted me immediately after I entered the meeting room.
"Good morning, everyone... Let's begin."
"The client is over there," Sara whispered.
" Where? " I asked darting my eyes around.
" The middle person facing the company's PR."
Our eyes met right on time... It was Alpha Myron.
Memories of those harsh words he often spat at me rang continuously. "I love it when you cry!" he would whisper throatily.
Goosebumps.
