Hailey's POV.
I followed Dylan out of the house and got into the car with him already in the driven seat.
"Fasten your seatbelt." He spat at me and I shrugged but did as I was told.
Soon, the car was driving out of his mansion in the woods and back to civilization.
Once we were in town, I felt a bit happier to see anything besides trees and hear the sound of cars instead of the chirping of birds.
"Where are we going to?" I asked.
"I ask the questions, you do as I say." He spat and I frowned.
What would it take for him to say it nicely?
Soon, we arrived at where we were going and it was a shopping complex.
I always pass it by whenever I was going to the cafe down the street where I worked in the morning.
"Get down." He said, jolting me from my reverie.
I got down from the car and followed after him into the building.
He was walking so fast as if he wouldn't be caught dead walking by my side.
And perhaps that was a good thing because walking beside him and taking in his scent made me think of our sexcapades from last night.
A red hue formed on my cheeks as I blushed.
It wasn't until I bumped into Dylan's broad back that I stopped in my track.
"Watch where you're going." Dylan snapped as frown lines formed on his face.
"I didn't know you would stop abruptly." I wanted to argue that it was his fault I bumped into him but I decided not to.
"Give me your hands." He said to me and I stretched out my hands. He put his hands in mine and they fit perfectly.
Now, we were walking side by side and I could hear people whispering about how handsome he was and how jealous they were.
I'm guessing we arrived at the store we were going to ask Dylan basically dragged me in there.
"Change her into something appropriate for dinner." He pushed me into the arms of a strange woman and stepped out of the store without looking back.
"Let's get you dressed." The stranger whom I assumed was the store manager said to me and I nodded.
It was easy for her to find my size and a dress that would fit me.
She smiled at me professionally as she helped me put on the magnificent silk navy blue evening gown.
"You look beautiful." She commented, making me smile.
Once I was fully dressed with shoes to match and a little black purse with beads around it, she pulled me into another room where two ladies were waiting.
"Do something about her hair." She said to them and they sat me down and worked on my hair.
When they were done, I almost couldn't recognize myself.
Leading me back where we came, I saw Dylan waiting in a dazzling three piece black suit.
"Let's go." He spared no glance at my dress and I sulked.
Couldn't he have atleast said something?
We didn't go back outside to where he had parked his car. Instead, we took another turning which lead us to a fleet of cars.
A man who appeared to be in his late forties approached us and bowed when he was close enough.
"Your parents are waiting." The older man said and I raised my brows in confusion.
"We're going to see your parents?" I asked in panic.
"Yes." Dylan shrugged.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I frowned.
"What does it matter?" He sighed as the older man lead us to the car.
"How will I behave?" I asked and Dylan shrugged.
We got into the car, the older man ignited the engine and we were on our way to Dylan's family's home.
"Haven't you ever visited your boyfriend's family before?" Dylan scoffed.
"No.. I've never dated before." I said, mumbling the last part.
"Oh." Dylan mumbled.
"Just smile, I'll do the talking." He said after a while.
"Okay." I mumbled but I was nervous as hell.
As the ride went on, I wondered if they could hear the sound of my beating heart and simply chose to ignore it.
Finally, we arrived at what I assumed to be his home.
It was a really extravagant building and it was nothing like I had ever seen before.
"How rich are you anyways?" I blurted out before I could even stop myself.
"You still haven't gotten it,have you?" Dylan scoffed.
"Well, I guess you're that stupid." He spat and I frowned.
"My name is Dylan O'Brien." He introduced himself and it still didn't seem to ring a bell.
He shrugged and stepped out of the car, walking to the other side to open the door for me.
He held his hands out so I could take it and I did.
Then, he put his hands around my waist and smiled at me.
"Let's go baby." He said and I raised my brows.
"Smile." He added.
"We're going for the role of a couple in love." He said coldly and I tried to think of happy moments in my life so my smile would seem genuine.
Getting into the house, we were lead to the dinning where his parents seemed to be waiting already.
Dylan pulled out a chair for me and I sat down.
"Mother, father, this is Hailey, the woman I want to marry." Dylan said immediately he was seated.
"Hailey, do you love my son or do you simply want to be married to the next owner of Brien Corp." Dylan's father asked me and that's when I realised who Dylan was.
That's why he looked so familiar.
He was familiar because I've seen him on television countless times since he was the only son of Brien Corporation.
How could I get myself entangled with such an important person in the society?
"Can't she speak?" His father frowned.
"Cat's got your tongue or you're just scared to say something because I'm right?" Dylan's father snapped.
I guess that's where Dylan got his rude attitude from.
"Father." Dylan tried to say something.
"Shut up and let her speak." His father warned.
"I want to marry Dylan not because of his status but because Dylan is..."
