Hailey's POV.
"She's awake." I heard someone mumbled.
I opened my eyes slowly, trying to adjust to the bright light that shone around the room.
I was on my knees and my hands were tied.
"I heard you were trying to escape." Someone said and I looked up to see his face.
I recognized him from few nights ago. He was the one who gave me the forms that I signed.
"Your mother relinquished your rights when she signed that consent form, you know." He said calmly.
" What right did she have to do that?" I spat.
"Take it up with her, not me." He scoffed.
"You're my commodity now and you don't have a right to leave until you've fulfilled your part of the deal." He added.
"I don't want to!" I cried.
"Collect my mother's debt from her!" I yelled.
"Why should I have to suffer?"
"Why should I have to pay for it?, i wasn't there when she was gambling!!"
"Why did you even lend her the money when you knew she didn't have any means to pay back?"
"This is not right!" I continued to yell and shake as if to break free from the shackles that held me down.
"Shut up!!!" He yelled.
I could see him pop a vein and I knew that I had gotten him mad.
"Your crying won't save you."
"You should have thought all these through before signing the form."
"Aren't you smart?"
"Can't you read?" He yelled angrily and those questions he asked calmed me down.
He was right.
I should have read the forms instead of just signing blindly.
But how would I have known that my own mother would be the cause of my misery?
"Blind fold her and take her to the room." He suddenly said to one of the bodyguards.
"W-what?" I stuttered
"No, please.."
"Let me go!" I pleaded but it all fell on deaf ears.
I was blindfolded and since my hands and legs were tied, it was easy for them to lead me to whatever room they were taking me to.
I heard the sound of a door opening and I was thrown into the room.
I fell to the floor harshly.
Despite the blindfolds, I could tell that this new room I was in was different from where I was coming from.
To start with, the lights were dim and AC was on and most of all, I could smell a somewhat familiar perfume in the air.
"Untie her." I heard a soft voice and it sent chills down my spine.
It was different from the club owner's voice.
It was quiet and soft yet it radiated power and confidence.
The person did as told and the ropes became loose, giving me the opportunity to sit properly on the floor, rather than lay there like an animal waiting to be slaughtered.
"I'm here to make you an offer." The man spoke again, this time an octave lower but I could still hear him clearly.
The room was quiet and the only thing I could hear besides the sound of my beating heart was the soft tapping of someone's feet, which I assumed belong to the man speaking to me.
He remained quiet, as if waiting for me to respond.
It wasn't until I was nudged that I realized I was indeed expected to respond.
"What offer?" I asked quietly.
I waited for the worse thing he could say.
With this much security, this man must be someone very powerful, was he the secret owner of the club?
Was he going to kill me for attempting to run away?
All sorts of thoughts ran through my mind and I was extremely nervous.
However, I wasn't expecting his next sentence.
"Marry me." He said and if I wasn't blindfolded, I'm sure my eyes will widen in shock.
"What?" I exclaimed in confusion.
"You're going to marry me." He repeated and I started laughing.
Not only did he not ask for my hand, he says it as if it is already a done deal.
"Are you joking?" I said amidst my laughter.
"Why would I marry you?"
"I don't even know you." I hissed.
"I was dragged in here with a blindfold and you want me to marry you?" I said again and started laughing even harder than before.
"Would you rather stay here and be made to pleasure hundreds of people or will you go with me, the man you had your first night with?" He said, sounding really serious.
The man I had my first night with?
Does this mean that he's my one night stand?
"I don't actually want you for a wife." He shrugged and for some reason, that seemed to hurt.
"It's only a marriage of convenience." He added.
"A marriage on paper." He mumbled but I heard him anyways.
"Besides, you only have one job to do." He scoffed and I got curious.
"What do I have to do?" I found myself asking.
"Pleasure me." He said.
"What?" I scoffed.
"Why would I do that?" I refused immediately.
"So you'll rather stay here and become a pr-" he paused and chuckled softly.
I knew what he was going to say.
He was taunting me.
"What do you say Hailey?" He asked, calling my name.
"Was my trip down here a waste of time?" He added.
"Why me?" I asked
"There are hundreds of other girls you can choose from, so why me?" I needed to know.
"There's no special clause behind it, I simply chose you." He shrugged.
I didn't feel too good about being the chosen one.
Nothing good ever comes out from being the chosen one.
"Your debts will be cleared, and you'll receive a sum of a thirty thousand dollars every month for the duration that you're married." Someone else said.
I sighed heavily.
Deep down, I knew this was a good offer.
Rather than pleasuring hundreds of men, it was better to stick with one person.
But I barely know who this person is and I don't know the real reason why he chose me either.
I heard the sound of someone getting up from their seat and I assumed it was him.
Quite impatient, isn't he?
"I'll do it." I said.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Yes." I said firmly.
"Remove the blindfold." He shrugged and the blindfold was taken off my face.
I looked at the face of the man who was offering me this deal.
He looked somewhat familiar, not just because he was my one night stand. He looked like someone I've seen before.
Regardless of that, he was a dashing young man.
Why would he want someone like me to be his wife?
He didn't spare me a glance, instead he threw a piece of paper at me.
"Sign it." He said and I took a good look at the paper in front of me.
I didn't want to sign blindly and get myself into trouble again so I took a good look at it.
"Those are the rules of this relationship." He said.
"It's strictly for pleasure." He added.
"You must not fall in love with me." He said and I almost scoffed.
What a narcissistic person!
"If you go against any of these rules.." he paused and looked deep into my eyes, sending shivers down my spine.
"I'll kill you and I mean it." His words made me shudder.
