Chapter 5 considering how to express themselves

Edward's POV

"Then mom how was your day?"

My dad, Peter, is a doctor, and my mom, Grace, works as a florist. They call Concord, Massachusetts, home. For work, I moved to New York City.

As I heard background sounds, she remarked, "Good, your sister came here this morning with Pete and Lilly for the weekends and the little ones came with me to the shop and we had fun."

Jessica, my older sister, is my sole sibling. She has her store in Boston, an hour's drive from Concord, and designs wedding dresses. She has twin children, Pete and Lilly. She is currently unmarried. She had the twins after marrying her longtime lover, Jason. Due to some insurmountable problems, they recently got divorced. We made an unsuccessful attempt to persuade them not to. Although I still believe Jason is the best man for Jessica, she is adamant about her choice, and I am powerless to change it. Jason practices law in Boston. Jessica wanted to have both of them with her, and they agreed to split the costs of raising their child. Occasionally, the children would also go to see their father and ask, "Mom, what are those background voices?" I chuckled and assumed they were Pete and Lilly.

"Yes, sweetheart. Hold on, I'll give them the phone. They're arguing over who gets to talk to you first," she responded with a giggle.

"Hello Uncle," said Mom, before plugging the phone into the speakers. When do you intend to come see us? "Remember my gift," remarked Pete with excitement.

"Uncle Ryan, How are you? "Pet is foolish enough not to inquire about your health first," Lilly said.

"Hi, my tiny champions. I'm doing well. Pete and Lilly are not dumb. Hear me out: you two should support one another and refrain from fighting over pointless issues. I would give you both a surprise gift the next time Jessica claims that you didn't argue much, and I would remember to give Pete his gift. Despite my recent busy schedule, I will visit you soon.

"Whoa, Uncle, "I'll try not to fight, even though it's difficult," Pete remarked.

"All right, I had to leave. When I arrived at my flat, I murmured, "Good night, sleep early," and hung up.

After parking, I went upstairs. John resides on the second floor, while I live on the third. There are two houses in each story. A British family resides across the street from me.

I heard my neighbor call me as I was ready to unlock my door after walking close to it.

"Ryan, As I previously informed you, I received a promotion and will be moving to San Francisco. I'm leaving the house tonight. Having a good neighbor like you, man, was nice. He held out his hand for a handshake and stated, "We would catch up whenever possible."

"I was comfortable too with you in the neighborhood and Yes, would like to catch up sometime" I shaked my hand back.

To unlock the door, I turned. I had two bedrooms, a large kitchen, and a somewhat large but small dwelling. One was mine, and the other was for the visitor. I have a balcony in my bedroom. I walked inside to have a good, cold shower, leaving my bag on the table. I went to John's house dressed in jeans and a black T-shirt.

I waited for someone to answer the door after knocking twice. Then, with Sofia standing in front of him and staring up at me, John opened the door. I choose Sofi and entered.

"Hello my little girl," I said as I moved to the couch.

"Hi, Ryan. While we were playing today, I missed you. Tom is a nasty lad. He shoved my friend, but Mam reprimanded him," she remarked naively. Her best friend is me, and she always calls my name. Funny, huh? I became quite attached to her because I have been taking care of her since the day she was born.

"I also really missed you, Sofia. We're going to the playground this weekend, so please don't worry about Tom, try to be nice to everyone, and refrain from being hateful.

She hugged me and whispered, "Okay, Ryan."

"All three of you are coming for dinner. For dessert, I've made burritos and banana splits," Linda smiled.

"Wow...so today's dinner is going to be awesome and am hungry." John rushed over to the dining table. Sofi and I were seated across from the pair.

I said, "It's perfect," after eating burritos. With the proper amount of each ingredient, it was cooked to perfection.

"Thanks, Ryan." Linda grinned. "Now, let's get right to the point: why have you called me to dinner?" "Ryan, please stop talking like this." Are we having dinner together for the first time? She pretended to be angry as she continued, "I just thought to cook dinner for everyone, nothing hidden behind this."

Holding Linda's hand, John murmured, "Baby cool, let him say whatever he wants." "Okay, ok, sorry, madam." Then all is well. I suppose I'll go get some sleep because I'm exhausted. I just stood up and asked, "Hey Ryan, where do you think you're going? Thank you for the dinner, friends." You missed your dessert, and I need to talk to you about something.

"You see, I told. Tell me what it is, please. I laughed.

John and Linda exchanged glances, and it seemed to me that they were considering how to express themselves.

"Come on, guys. I put the plate in the dishwasher and said, "I don't mind."

She hesitantly said, "Ryan, I have a friend named Christina. Does she need an appointment? I won't prioritize, you know. I responded, "She must come in order with the rest for any treatment."

"No! Ryan, unlike the other day, it's not for an appointment."

"Then?"

She is a friend from high school. Here, she has her makeup studio. "She paused" and said, "John and me... You and he what?"

"We want you to go on a date."
