Chapter 6 Dose of pain

Ruelle's pov

This week has been the most awful week I have ever experienced. I was forced into a pack, and bonded by blood magic against my will.

Konan did not do it because he likes me-no. He did it because it was a precaution. A way to keep me attached to the pack emotionally. He was playing all his cards right, and I wanted to tear him from limb to limb.

Luckily, for some messed up reason, I was no longer in the prison cell. I was moved up to a small room in the main house, but I still had chains on my hands and legs.

After the fight with Konan, Vixen has been really quiet and calm. She wasn't happy and she was drained. She did not like that her mate was the one who actually did this to her.

Her energy was drained, and my power pool was almost empty. Luckily, It was still enough to heal my wounds from the silver chain, and keep the mate bond suppressed.

I never want to feel anything for that monster.

Just then, the door slid open. A lady and a huge guy walked in. I had seen him before, but I couldn't place my finger exactly where I had seen him.

The lady stopped in a distance with a tray, and the guy stepped forward.

"Good day miss. I'm Tarek, the Beta of this prestigious pack," he said, introducing himself.

Ah yes. The guy who walked in when Konan was questioning me. I rolled my eyes.

"Does your pack always keep people in chains?" I asked with sarcasm dripping off my tone.

"Just the ones who deserve it."

I didn't bother arguing with him. He wasn't worth my time. He snapped his fingers and the girl walked towards him. She had a tray which held a blue glowing glass and an injection.

"Wait. What is that for?" I asked, scared and confused. If they insert any more poison into my system, I could kiss my powers goodbye.

"This is silverate. It would help keep you contained."

"I am already contained!" I shot at him.

He looked at me and said nothing. He picked up the syringe and took out the drugs, or should I say...poison. The liquid had a bright blue color which was glowing.

This is bad.

"Hold still, Shadow wolf, this is going to sting," Tarek said, his tone laced with a hint mockery.

I tried to fight him by moving my body, but there was not much I could do with this stupid chains that burned me everytime I moved.

Tarek held out my arms, and injected me with the liquid. I could feel it in my system. The liquid moved fast through my veins like it knew where it wanted to be.

My eyes shot open in pain-the worst of its kind. I could feel my core being shot off by the poison. My pool of magic was sealed short, and my wolf abilities kept to the minimum.

Vixin was unconscious, and I couldn't feel her presence anymore.

When I came back to reality, my eyes opened with tears in them. I felt useless.

My powers were gone, and my wolf was nowhere to be found.

I looked up at Tarek.

"Why?" I asked with a teary eye.

He said nothing, as he walked up to me and unchained me. The silver chains dropped from my hands and I let out a sigh of relief. I looked at my wrist and saw that it wasn't healing.

It usually takes me a second to get healed, but now, I couldn't even heal within a minute.

"What have you done to me, you freak?" I yelled, but as usual, Tarek ignored me. He picked up the bandage from the tray, and helped me cover up my wounds.

"Done. The Alpha would speak with you shortly and let you know what this is all about."

"I don't want to speak with that coward who calls himself the Alpha." I shot at him, but he ignored me and began to walk outside.

I was not chained physically anymore, but I was chained from within. I sat on my bed as I cried my eyes out. I had not cried for the longest time. I refused to let myself cry. It was a sign of weakness.

My mind flashed back to the woman I met at the cave pool after the death of my parents. Lovie-she was my everything.

The day she found me, she hugged me, and the words she always said to me had always been in my mind.

"The world isn't going to make it easy for you, so brave up. You have a long road ahead of you."

The words echoed loud in my ears, and I sat up and wiped my tears.

This was just another obstacle. One I would overcome soon and with ease.

I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. I refuse to let these people break me. I would find a way to overcome this poison. I will find a way to reclaim my powers and my wolf.

As I sat there, I heard the door open again. This time, it was Konan who walked in. He looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and calculation, as if he was studying me.

"You're awake," he said, his voice neutral. "I see Tarek has taken care of you."

I glared at him, my anger and resentment simmering just below the surface. "You've taken everything from me," I spat. "My powers, my wolf, my freedom. What more do you want?"

Konan raised an eyebrow, his expression unchanging. "I want your obedience," he said. "I want you to shiver when you hear my name. I want to be the one to break that strong will of yours."

I let out a laugh, the sound bitter and mocking.

"You'll never get that from me," I said. "I'll never be the scared little pup that you want, Konan. You're a monster. A coward who uses poison and chains to control people."

Konan's expression didn't change, but I saw a flicker of something in his eyes.

Anger.

"We'll see about that," he said, his voice low and menacing. "You'll learn to obey me, Ruelle. You'll learn to follow every one of my commands."

I smiled, a cold, hard smile. "Go eat shit, Konan, I'll never obey you," I said with anger.
