Seraphina smirks, "Oh no you are not, darling, you are more than that."
She then turns to Konan, "Alpha Konan." She called to him, and after a while he stood up from the chair, he sat in and walked slowly to the light.
Vixin flipped. My heart skipped multiple beats as I stared at the god-like creature in front me. He looked like a Demi god, and I was the peasant.
I swallowed hard as I tried to keep things in check.
"Seraphina," he replied, his voice, dark and cold, made me feel butterflies but I was quick to calm myself.
Seraphina gave him a cute smile, and I couldn't fathom it.
"You would be able to carry this task. The council would come to make weekly visits to learn about this new creation."
He looked at me, his silver eyes as cold as ice, he said nothing as he began walking to me.
The more steps he took, the more I could feel the magic inside me bubble up. The silver chain reacted as the sigil in my arms began to glow up.
The hall was silent, or so I thought. Konan kept walking towards me and when he was just a few feets away, the magic in me erupted.
Bright light blasted everywhere and for a while, I couldn't see anything. Then, I saw something or someone.
Konan.
Then another flash happened-the blood moon and I saw Konan, on the floor. He was dead.
Fast as the vision came, it went, and I was back at the hall. I looked around to see the elders whispering and scared, Seraphina looked at me with amusement and Konan's face was indifferent.
The room went still as both our eyes locked on to each other, and I felt a shiver down my spine.
"It seems you are quite... interesting." Konan's voice dripped with sarcasm.
I raised my eyebrows and tried to maintain my composure. "And, it seems you are quite... durable."
Konan looked at me confused. Just then, Seraphina chuckled, her eyes were sparkling with serious amusement.
"Ahh, I think this is going to be one hell of a phase," she said.
The council members looked at each other nervously, their whispers growing louder. It was clear they were uneasy about this development, but Seraphina seemed unfazed.
"Konan, it seems you'll be taking care of our... guest," Seraphina said, her eyes never leaving mine. "I expect regular updates on her progress."
Konan nodded, his expression unreadable. "I understand," he said, his voice low and even.
I felt a surge of panic at the thought of being under Konan's care. Something about him unsettled me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was in grave danger.
Seraphina stood up, her staff in hand. "Very well, let's conclude this meeting. Konan, take our... guest to her new accommodations."
Konan nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "Follow me," he said, his voice firm.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But something about Konan's gaze made me comply. I followed him out of the hall, the weight of my uncertain fate settling in.
*********************************
The car stopped at a huge, gloomy estate. The ride to this place was quiet-no one said a word. Not the guards, the driver nor even Konan himself.
Everyone knew what to do before they were told. They were like machines and it scared me.
The car I stayed in had just Konan and the driver. When we got to the estate, the guards came over to bring me down from the car.
My hands and legs still chained with Silver. I could see the burning marks and I couldn't heal them as Vixin was tired of doing it.
The guards roughly pushed me into the back of the mansion. My eyes went to Konan as he entered the main building.
"Where are you taking me to?" I asked, confused.
"Your cell, now be quiet." One of the two guards said.
I shrugged and followed silently, but my mind was still replaying the vision.
"Vixin," I called out to my wolf but I got no response. Ever since I was quick to bury the mate bond, she was quick to ghost me.
"Petty bitch." I said under my breath and I could hear her growl in anger. She hates when I insult her.
We got to the cell and the guards chained me with stronger silver metals and then gave me a drink.
It was a little bit sweet but then I felt it-wolfsbane.
Even though Vixin was quiet before, I could still feel her presence but with the Wolfsbane in my system, I barely could. If any normal wolf was put in these conditions, the person would have died.
I felt weak. My energy pool drained out and for the first time in a while, I passed out.
**************************************
I woke up to a noise, as I fluttered my eyes open, gently, using my last strength to push them open.
I did not know what time it was or what day because it was pitch black down here. Wolves don't need light to see in the dark but without Vixin, I was as blind as a bat.
I tried moving but everything stings and burns.
I couldn't move. Guess this is one way to die.
Then I heard his voice.
"How is she holding up?"
Konan was here. I tried to get up, but I couldn't. I just laid still and tried to listen to them.
"She is still breathing-weak but still breathing," the other voice said.
"Hmmm. She is strong," Konan said.
"Is she the one we have been searching for?" He asked but no response came.
After a minute of silence, Konan spoke, "Move her to the house and remove the chains."
"But she could escape, if her powers come back." The other voice reminded him.
"Yes, I know that. It's been three days with the wolfsbane in her system and the concentration is enough to kill me but she survived. We would just inject her with a regular dose of a lesser concentration of wolfsbane mixed with silver residue."
Wait. That could dampen my powers forever.
I tried to protest but I couldn't move and just then, I passed out again.
