Chapter 4 Sold

KAYLA.

I have been trapped in this filthy cell for five days now. Treated like trash, denied water and good food, except trash remains fitting for a dog.

I wasn't going to eat such.

Even the guards treat me like dirt, as if I'm nothing. The cell door suddenly flung open and one of the hideous, looking guards with grim teeth walked in.

"Get your ass out now" He ordered, bits of saliva flying out of his mouth onto my face. I wrinkled my nose in disgust, feeling like slapping him.

I couldn't continue to let them treat me this way.

"You have no rights to talk to a royalty like me this way. I might be charged with treason but I am still your crown princess." I reminded him just in case he had forgotten but all I received was a mocking laughter as the guard reminded me of something I had seem to have forgotten too.

"That was five days ago, your royal highness. You are nothing but a traitor about to be sold to the dreadful, Lycan king now." He said and I froze, his words sinking into me.

"Sold? To the dreadful, Lycan king?" I repeated and the guard just snorted, before turning around to leave, locking the cell behind him as he spotted the untouched food.

"Seems you also want to starve." He spat before waking away, leaving me all alone there, trying to process his words.

'Why was I about to be sold, first it was getting married to a rogue king, what was going on?' I pondered as I patiently waited here in this cell, without budging or fighting much because I thought Layla would soon come to my rescue and vindicate me but now, I wasn't so sure.

My entire body started to shake, and I collapsed to the floor, biting my lower lips hard and wondering what my fate would be now.

.............

.............

"Let me go, let me go, I said, let me go." I yelled at the top of my lungs, trying to fight the guards who were bundling me out of the palace forcefully, their grips tightened around my wrists, their fingers dipping into my skin and drawing blood.

But I didn't care, I just wasn't going nowhere. I was shoved forcefully into the carriage and had the door locked immediately. I tried pushing it so I could get out but it was locked.

"Arrgh! Open this."I yelled, banging on the door but no one except my sister came into view. Hope filled me immediately and I found myself smiling like a fool.

"Layla, please get me out. I don't know where these people are taking me to". I told her but she just burst into laughter with Henry coming to join her.

"Goodbye sister." She said then turned around to leave while Henry winked at me before turning to do the same.

Fear clawed at my heart and I could feel my stomach dropping as I continued to shout for her to come back, trying to force the door open till someone grabbed me from behind and covered my nose with something.

My eyes widened and I struggled, scratching, kicking and trying to get him off me but all to no avail as he tightened his hold on my nose and soon, I began to suffocate, my vision growing blurry as my eyes started to close on it's own.

I grew weak, my hands feeling too heavy to move so I dropped them and stopped struggling, giving into unconsciousness.

I woke up with a gasp, looking around briskly as I wondered where I was. I seemed to be in a huge, gigantic room, resting on a soft bed.

Everywhere looked royalty and I was still wondering what was going on when I started to perceive the most delicious smell.

The scent hit my nose and I sniffled, my eyes rolling to the back of my head as my body started to feel hot, my palms growing sweaty as my mate let out a howl in my head, flipping around excitedly.

"Mate is near." She called out gleefully, then the door burst open and I flinched, my heart racing as I came face to face with him. The dreadful, Lycan king.

I recognized him from the rumors, his long, golden hair, with red eyes and lips that looked irresistible, followed by a feminine expression.

His face tightened as he ran his eyes all over my body, growling in the process.

"Mate."

I was the youngest daughter of the werewolf king and for some unknown reason, instead of making my elder sister the crown princess, Father made me his heir instead.

A Few days to my coronation, my father was murdered in cold blood, I was framed for it and then sold to the dreadful, Lycan king without my approval. Now I just discovered he is my mate.

'Could life get any worse?' I wondered, His eyes darkened as he moved towards me, aiming for my clothes like he wanted to tear them off me. I shirked, rearing backwards in fright.

"Get over here!" He commanded and I screamed, trying to fight him off, as he grabbed me by both arms and pinned me down to the bed, his face very close to mine that I could smell his breath, a mixture of mint and cider.

Heat spread through me, unwelcoming yet impossible to ignore, my body betraying me against my will as I inhaled him, my body liking the sweetness and Jessica, my wolf, nudging me in my head to get closer to him.

My nipples were hardening and I had to close my legs tighter as I was surprisingly feeling somehow down there.

I think he noticed for the side of his lips curled up into a smirk, before he stretched out his tongue to lick his red, lower lips that I just wanted to bite.

"So the murderer of her father is my mate?" He inquired and I felt anger burn through me. My nails itching to be used as I gritted my teeth against one another furiously.

'How dare he accuse me of such?' I wondered, looking for an opportunity to distract him into releasing me so I could punch the bastard in the face.

He smiled as if reading my mind as he brought his face even closer to mine, our lips touching one another briefly.

I found myself lost, my earlier thoughts vanishing as my heart melted, thinking he looked handsome and harmless with a smile on.

He bent close to my ear and licked it, sending shivers down my spine. I trembled, and tried struggling against him again but his grip on me tightened as he whispered.

"Tell me why you did it, little kitten." He probed and I was about to use my knees to hit him in the groin when the door burst open startling me. I turned to look at who it was but then my breath got caught in my throat.

"Impossible". I muttered without thinking, my breath hitching in my throat as I saw something that took me way back to when I met my father.
