Chapter 2 WHEN SHE FINALLY ARRIVES

-NEW YORK CITY-

-Two days later-

"Good morning, Babe."

From the peaceful view of the mountain and a wonderful glimpse of sunlight in the sky, Grey diverted his gaze on his girlfriend Sophia who is now standing behind him and gave her a half smile. "Good morning too, Baby.."

Sophia hugged her from behind so he turned around to face her and gave her a peck on the lips. She giggled naughtily. He's topless that morning and Sophia just covered her nakedness with her white blanket that made her look like a Goddess of seduction. And by the way, she's an international model, and he's been in her place near nature since the other night. For a few minutes they just stood there, feeling each other's warmth until Sophia broke the silence.

"Baby?"

"Hmm?"

"When will you let me visit your house? We've been together for six months now and you still won't let me set foot in your house even for a second."

And that's true. Grey banned his house from the girls he dated. He doesn't wanted any of his girls to enter his house for six years now. After all, they won't last long in his life. Six months to seven is the longest relationship he can only give. After six or seven months, he'll eventually act cold towards that girl and when that girl still insisted to stay, he'll tell her she's not good in bed. And for liberated women in New York, that line always helped him a lot because that's kinda insulting on their part. But Sophia is quite different. She always speaks out her thoughts and opinions about stuff like that. Yet she'll be out of his life too, after he's done with her also. Is he that cruel? Yes. Because pain from the past has always been a good lecturer. So now he knows better.

Grey smiled charmingly at her and moved down his head to claim her lips that's sickly sweet like sugar. She moaned and kissed him back. Then he softly murmured between their hot kisses.

"Soon, baby.. Soon.."

And just when he was about to sip her delicate soft neck, his brother Green, the COO of his company, called up. Frowning in frustration, he accepted the call and gently moved away from Sofiya in a distant.

"Yes,Green."He told Green to temporarily take over the company while he'll be away for three days with Sophia to relax and stay away from the media disturbing him everywhere, but why the sudden call from his brother now?

"Grey."

"What? Green, I thought I made myself clear that--"

"Grey. She's here in New York. Specifically here in the company, waiting for you."

Grey's forehead creased. "Who?"

"Reigndelle."

Grey froze. And was it just his imagination? Or was it really his goddamn heart instantly beating so fast than the usual.. Upon hearing her name?

But he abruptly dismissed that freaking feeling and focused on one thing. After six long years, what made Reigndelle surprisingly show up in his life again?

"Why is she here?" his brows arched when he asked that.

"She wants to talk to you about something very important."

"Very important huh?" Grey muttered in himself and slowly smiled devilishly.

"Green..A-Are you sure h-he really agreed to see me now?" Reigndelle asked in undeniable doubt. Nervously fidgeting on the mini glass table of Green's office. She's in New York now. Specifically inside the huge and luxurious A.G. Tower. Everything in the company yells elegance and luxury. But describing Grey's company isn't the reason why she's there, but she's there to talk to it's CEO who's still not there for an hour now after Green contacted him.

"Yes. Don't worry he'll be here soon." Green said, smiling while sitting on the couch beside her. "So do you already got yourself a place here to stay?"

"Yup, Green." Then she smiled at him.

"Good then. May I know where so I can pay you a visit?"

"Sure thing." She told him the place.

"And... Your mobile number too?"

Then Green chuckled boyishly and she chuckled shyly also. Yet she gave him that.

Then she sighed. She was so thankful that she was able to contact Green through his email stiil. The same email account he used way back then. She contacted Green first as she set foot there in New York to back her up to talk to Grey. After all, they used to be friends before when she's still in a relationship with Grey six years ago. And it's a good thing he emailed back and told her that he's driver will be there to fetch her up in the airport. He even told the guards to let her in, in that humongous building. Green really helped her throughout. And she thought contacting Green first, who she never thought was Grey's COO of that company, was a smart move because she's not sure if Grey would let her talk to him if she asked for an appointment first. That'll be a wrong move for someone who really needs Grey's help. Like she said, it's now or never. So she must be smart all the time if she wants her assignment to be done in no time.

"Thirty days, Miss Alfiejo. I am only giving you thirty days to accomplish this assignment. And if you fail on this, you know the consequences." Ma'am Jane's voice echoed her thoughts. So she let out a heavy sigh again and faced Green who's now staring at her intently, probably thinking what does she want from Grey. He never asked her that ever since she came there earlier. She cleared her throat and diverted her eyes on his metallic-inspired office table.

"U-Uhm, by the way, Green.. Thank you for helping me throughout today. Thank you so much, and sorry for disturbing you today, you looked kinda busy yet you still lend me a hand. You really are a good friend until now," she said genuinely without even glancing at him. She's so embarrassed that time for the disturbance she caused him. If it weren't for her promotion, she may not be able to see his friend's handsome face again. But now there she is, sitting nervously on his couch and nervously waiting for Grey's arrival.

She heard him chuckling boyishly and said, "Nah don't mention it. Happy to always help. By the way,Reign, I miss you. And I know you missed me too hahaha," he teasefully said. Truth is, she knew from the start that Green had feel something for her. She felt it way back then. The way his eyes sparkle when she talked to him. Yet she ignored that because she was so in love with Grey that time. And it was Grey she first met anyway, not Green. She laughed and nodded at him.

"Of course I missed you too, Green.. It's been a long time.."

"And I know Grey kinda missed you more," he said and grinned widely at her.

"And I'm sure he'll be so happy to see you again."

By that, she faked a laugh. 'Oh,Green, if you only knew about my agenda being here' she thought. 'Grey won't be happy and he'll surely gonna hate me more'

"By the way, Reigndelle, what do you want from Grey? Do you want closure with him?" Green asked, chuckling again.

So she laughed nervously. He deserves to know her agenda anyway.

"A-Actually, Green.. I'm here to interview him."

Green's smile suddenly faded. "Huh?"

She told him about her life for six years, her job, the promotion she will soon have, everything. After that, Green stared at her intently.

"Well, Reign.. I wish you luck convincing him. Don't worry.. You'll always have my back if everything won't fall into place."

By that, tears fell from her eyes and she hugged him. She knew from the start she would always have his back.

"Thank you, Green. Thank you so much."

"Nah, don't mention it." Green whispered and gently patted her back.

Just that, the automatic intercom on his table beeped up.

"Sir Green?" said the other line.

"Yes, Fiona?"

"Sir Grey has finally arrived."
