A name for the brand hasn't even popped into my head yet. "Nope."
"How about, Fucking Dave? Trust me, you would be out of stock the first day you launch your brand."
"That'd be cool, but thank you."
My eyes settled on a black knee length gown which looked appropriate for an official meeting.
Trisha left a few minutes later as she was running late and I dressed up hurriedly also. To help with my aching heart after I saw the honeymoon pictures of Dave and his Barbie, Trisha dared me to make a video threatening the Gilbert's and to address my fans which I did. It went viral within a few minutes and we spent all night going through the comments and laughing together.
It was all good last night but now, the hole in my heart has come back to mock me. I put finishing touches to my makeup and left the house.
My phone pinged with a message as I walked into The Dove for my nine o'clock appointment with the lab scientist. I ignored it and made a mental note to check it later. The next few hours are so important and would change my life forever.
It all feels familiar like when I met Dave and how it all crashed. While I thought that was the end of the fairytale story, I didn't know I was getting a next chapter.
"Hello, good morning. I'm here to meet Adams Bradley." I said to the receptionist.
She went through her computer before nodding and giving me a pass.
Another notification pinged on my phone as I took the elevator ride to the third floor. Three more followed notifications and I got curious.
The elevator door opened and I stood face to face with a tall man with broad shoulders. He wore dark shades and a tux that seemed to be tailored exactly for his body size. He took off the shades almost immediately and glared at me with a frown, and I was blown away with his looks even though it was tainted with a frown.
"What are you doing here?"
I stepped out of the elevator and he stood frozen to his spot as though the ride he was about to make didn't matter anymore.
"What am I doing here?" I repeated his question, wondering where we have met before. "I don't seem to know you."
He hid his hands in his pocket and smiled. "Because we haven't met. But I'll do the honors of introducing myself."
Five more notifications came in like a mad rush and we both looked at the phone in my hands.
"I see that's what comes with being Instagram famous." He said, referring to the notifications.
Ah ha, he was a fan. No. A man like him doesn't look like a fan. He must have seen the news. It didn't even cross my mind that I would be recognised when I stepped out from the house.
"Who are you?" I asked instead, ignoring his statement.
His eyes raked my body, like he liked what he saw and that got me tensed. I took a step back to put more space between us.
"You don't answer a question with another question." He said as his green alluring eyes burned into mine. His brown hair was scattered all over his face and I got a strange desire to put my hands in and help him fix it.
I shook my head like it would help the thought go away. Focus, Amelia.
"I'm here for an appointment. Satisfied?" What I don't have time for this morning is to engage in a time wasting conversation with a stranger. "If you may please excuse me, I'm running late for my nine o'clock." I said with a polite smile and walked towards the bend but Mr Green's eyes were still rooted at his spot making it difficult for me to squeeze my way out. My arms and body brushed him slightly and I caught a whiff of his cologne before I got free from his intimidating presence.
Who in God's name was that? Interrogating me like I'm supposed to know him. I put him at the back of my mind as I found a door with Adams Bradley written on it.
The discussion was brief and quite friendly. I explained what I wanted and the products I would like to produce. He was patient with me and put me through all the necessary steps before setting another appointment with him to come in two days for the sample testing after he has gathered the necessary things we would need as ingredients.
"Thank you Mr Adams." I said as I stood slowly to my feet after we had finalized our discussion.
"It's my pleasure." He said and stretched out his hands for a handshake.
I bumped into green eyes as the elevator door opened. What's with seeing him around this damn elevator?
A wave of unease hit me as I stepped in. I walked to a corner, far away from him and began fiddling on my phone.
"I see you're done with your appointment." He said and I looked up and nodded. I'm not a fan of small talk with strangers but I don't know who is who in this company hence, it's better I be on my best attitude.
"Forgive me for my manners Amelia Blake. I didn't introduce myself last time did I?" He began, not even waiting for me to respond before making the introduction. "I'm Andrey Antonio."
Okay, a sexy name for a sexy... No, don't go there Amelia. Men are scumbags, cheats, perverts, liars and don't deserve women around them to make them happy.
The ride to the last floor was getting so slow and I wondered if it had anything to do with green eyes Andrey. I decided to pass time and check the notifications that had been pinging on my phone which would also pass a message to Andrey that I'm not interested in any conversation he wants to make.
My eyes widened in horror at the text I read. I placed my hand on the door of the elevator to support myself as my feet wobbled, giving way for me to land on the floor as I tried to get over the shock.
"Is everything alright?"
That was the last thing I heard before I slowly slipped into a subconscious state.
