Chapter 4 Wacko Bride

Andrey

Sandra sat from across me at my desk, chewing and blowing her gum loudly. It was infuriating and I almost wanted to send her out but held myself back because that would mean I would spend the night alone on my bed with no one to warm it for me.

It's been a while since I got laid, hence why I called her. She was a random girl I met in a club a few years ago and we turned out to become friends, not just any kind but friends with benefits. She's funny and different from other women I've been with and that's how she got stuck with me. I still mess around with other women but on some days, I just need Sandra around me.

"Are you even listening to what I'm saying?" She half yelled and threw a pen at me.

"I am."

"No, you're staring at me but you're not listening."

I frowned. Why wouldn't I get absent minded when I've looked forward to this day for a while now. I set a goal for myself two weeks ago to expand my business in different locations across the city and I had to get focused on it, zero pleasure and now she's like a prize to my triumph, waiting to be ravished.

"Let's go home."

I closed my laptop and rang my assistant, telling her I would be going early today.

"That's a good one, boss. You need the rest after all the hard work." She said before I ended the intercom.

My driver was waiting downstairs and we all walked to my SUV at the garage.

"I was trying to tell you something while you were staring at me like you wanted to eat me raw at the office."

I sighed. "Let's have it." I said in a bored tone as Troy rolled out of the garage and hit the busy road of New York city.

"Your cousin..."

"That's a subject that's off limits." I said and looked away through the window.

Dave. The Gilbert's, they are part of me, we are family but they are dead to me in my heart. All that's left is when I'll wipe them all and bring their empire tumbling.

"I know, but..."

"Sandra." I warned in a sharp tone, cutting her off. She knows my ties with the Gilbert's and should know better than to bring them up.

Don and Maria raised me up since I was eight, and that was after Don murdered my father in cold blood after a hostile takeover of the company they both started as brothers. I didn't understand a lot as a kid but while growing up, the night my life shattered and the events that followed all began to make more sense to me. I cut ties with them after I turned twenty, changing my surname from Gilbert to my father's, Andrey Antonio.

It is only a matter of time before I crush their empire that has been built on blood and expose them for what they really are to the world.

"I don't know what they ever did to you, but I just wanted to show you what had been trending for some days now about Dave. I kept the news to myself first, but what I'm seeing now is something I need to share. It's actually no biggie." Her tone was sulky, and the next thing, she crossed her hands against her chest and leaned on the door frame, not before scooting her phone towards me.

I hid the smile that played on my lips before picking up the phone. Whatever it is must be worth my view.

I scrolled through the page and my eyes lit up in interest. Dave jilted his bride and got wedded to someone else before their wedding? A video where a young lady was thrown over the shoulder of a security guard seemed to be trending the most. I read some comments and short clips from interviews before handling the phone back to Sandra.

"You're not going to say anything?" She asked after I stayed silent for a few minutes.

"Is that your way of trying to get information from me about my complicated history with them?"

"No! And you know that. You're not on social media and I just wanted to share that with you since it relates to your family."

"They are not my family."

"Whatever."

I could feel the eye roll from her side even though I wasn't staring at her. It's always what accompanies a 'whatever'.

"I love her." Sandra said after a while and I glared at her, at a loss at what she meant.

"Amelia. She's so brave and not everyone would stand up to an intimidating rich folk, super billionaire like she did. Because of her bravery, netizens are patronising her beauty products, influencers are helping out to influence, her social media follower count has doubled from the size it was yesterday and she's getting so famous. Everything is just so crazy!" Sandra shrieked out like an excited child on Christmas Eve.

"Okay, that's some interesting story."

"Exactly!" She punched the air, happy that I was getting into her boat. "You need to see her and the video she also made when she addressed her new fans and armies."

I took the phone with disinterest but lit up upon seeing the now famous Amelia. Something about how she spoke, her aura and beauty drew me to her. She spoke without fear about the Gilbert's and the hell she went through in their hands while dating my cousin.

My mind kept going back to her and the way she spoke even after I was long done with what I may call a press release from her end.

The Gilbert's would regret this.

I chuckled at the thought of it. She may be courageous but is still naive. Only if she knows the weight of the words she had proclaimed.

"Are you alright?" Sandra commented on my incessant chuckling.

"Yeah."

I smiled again and took out my phone from my pocket, then installed Instagram.

The Gilbert's don't dismiss threats thrown at them easily, so sweet and heart broken Amelia should better watch her back.
