Chapter 9 BLOOD MOON PACK (3)

Iris's POV

"Don't be too shocked." He chuckled.

"How did you know?" I asked, shifting back such that we were inches apart.

"Well...that's a story for another day. For now, just rest." He said, patting my head like I was a kid and for some reason I couldn't tell him to stop.

"See you later...Iris." He drawled, smiling with his eyes twinkling.

I returned the smile and stood in front of the door till his figure faded. Sighing, I pushed opened the door and took a look at the room. It was stunning as expected.

A king sized bed laid in the middle with pink fluffy pillows and blankets. The wall of the room was painted pink, even the wardrobe was pink. I wasn't much of a pink girl, so it irked me.

I walked towards the wardrobe and opened it, I sucked in my breath. In it were both royal and modern dresses, all made from designers. I opened another part of the wardrobe which was filled with different bags, and another contained Jewelries and other necessities.

"What the hell I'm I going to use all this for? They were too much." I groaned.

Peeling off my clothes, I walked into the bathroom which was like about twice half of my house back at Moonstone pack. The bathtub was already filled with warm water and scented soap, I just soaked myself in it.

I let out a satisfied moan when the water hit my skin, it was just what I needed. It soothed me and gave me a relaxing feeling.

After I was done, I stepped out dabbing my body with a towel. I sat in front of the large vanity mirror and combed my hair, I noticed it had grown longer.

"I've grown thinner." I muttered as I stared at my reflection in the mirror.

I had a slender figure but it seemed the stress from the past few days had made me thinner. I rummaged through the wardrobe and picked out a simple knee-length gown which was fitted yet comfortable.

Picking up my phone, I called my mother. I wanted to be sure she was okay, and that my father hadn't taken out his anger on her. After a few trials and she wasn't picking up, I dropped the phone and jumped on the bed.

I heard a knock on the door and sat up immediately.

"Who's there?" I asked with my guard raised up.

"The chief maid, milady." A monotone voice responded.

"Uh, come in." I said as I didn't lock the door after I entered.

The door creaked open, and a middle aged woman with a gingered coloured hair entered carrying a tray. She had low, dark droopy cat eyes which seemed void of emotions.

She placed the tray by the bedside then she bowed and stood at a corner.

"Your personal maids would be sent to tomorrow." She uttered with a bow.

I felt awkward at the way she bowed after each sentence. It was not so back home and I wasn't used to it.

"Thank you." I muttered.

She answered with a deep bow and walked out of the room. Glancing at the tray, my mouth watered. There was a plate of spaghetti meatballs, the other plate contained fruit salad and there was a glass of juice.

This was my favourite meal, and she had served it to me without knowing. Picking the fork, I munched on the food like a hungry lion, and I was done in a few minutes.

I picked up the tray with the intention to drop it in the kitchen, it was how I was raised. Back home, when my father was still the alpha; he made sure we had no maids. He was of the opinions that since I was that useless, I might as well be invested in house duties.

Each time my mother tried to help, he would beat both of us together. Whenever a ball or party was been held in the mansion, he'd temporarily employ a butler and maids so as to avoid suspicions from others. Then after the party, he would dismiss them.

I shook my head with a smile as I thought of these memories. Maybe I was better off here, even though I knew I would die months from now. At least I won't be beaten or treated like an animal.

I could hear the sounds of my footsteps echoing as I walked down the stairs. The mansion was too silent. I wondered where everyone went. I could see no signs of passing maids or any, it was just eerily quiet.
