The duration of the kissing session was less than three seconds, as I could see. Right now, my face was burning too much to look up at Alexander.
To be honest, this was very humiliating. I tried to block out all of my thoughts with the audience's roaring yells and ovation.
For the rest of the performance, I kept my head down. Having to look up to and accept many kind words from well-wishers awas a strain for me. Additionally missing throughout the presentation was Alexander.
It was good for me since I wouldn't have to constantly look at his annoying and scary face. That was a little comforting. After this celebration, I continued watching the clock in the hopes that it would pass more quickly.
and I just hope my children are doing well. But it seemed like nature was also against me since I felt like I had been in this religion for 10 years.
It was finally done, and I felt glad. I watched as everyone slowly departed, leaving the church auditorium empty but for a few more people scattered about it.
I sat alone in the back seat and could see David's parents approaching. My face instantly became white, and I glanced about in horror. When the bastard was required,
Where was Alexander? "My daughter!" The advice of my mother-in-law drew me back. Her grin was exactly the same as it had been during the wedding ceremony.
I stood up to give her a kind hug. To tell the truth, ever since we first met, she has a way of making me feel less apprehensive.
"Don't worry, you'll do great," she murmured, covering my face with her hands. Although I sort of doubted her certainty in private, I returned her grin.
"For how long have you known my son?" I froze when I heard that question. My eyes went to Mrs. Gages's husband, who was standing someplace behind her, as soon as I spotted her.
His attitude was as cold as ever, as if he wasn't even happy about this whole "my son's finally married" thing. "Oh come on John, of course, they've known each other for a long..."
Mrs. Gages tried to shrug the question away by tying her arm around his. But the old guy kept looking at me and said, "No, I want to hear from her."
I gulped as I felt the blood leave my face. This dude is just incredible. "I..ah. I've..." God, why was I stuttering? Furthermore, my sweat pores decided to embarrass me by secreting more liquid waste than usual.
"Actually Dad," a voice whispered suddenly, and then an arm wrapped itself over my shoulders. It was some time before I recognized it as Alexander. Bastard! Where in the world has he been?
With his eyes fixated on his father, he lied and said, "We've known each other for about three years now."
I looked at him, and his father's gaze narrowed at his child. When David suddenly turned to me, I hurriedly feigned a smile and moved closer.
When his eyes were normal again, he looked back at Alexander. As he said that, I felt nauseous.
"Expect us to come visiting sometimes." Given that he was such a stern guy, why does he need to see a newlywed couple?
"Well, I guess we will be taking our leave now," David said, and I was relieved that we would finally be getting out of here. As his mother cautioned him, I smiled.
"Make sure you take care of her well, I don't want her complaining about anything." I would constantly gripe to her.
"You can tell me anything, okay?" As she approached me, she whispered in my ear. I was ecstatic and gave a baby's head nod.
"Okay, see you guys later," David said, drawing me with him. He clung to me until we had left the church and were out of sight of his parents. Then he turned to leave me and pointed to my face. He looked directly into my eyes and stated,
"Don't you dare get closer to my mother." What's causing his extreme behavior? I was merely having casual conversations with my in-law. I dI didn't really understand why he was acting this way. idn't know why he was sounding like that but it sounded like that. "You're heard, husband. Get in the vehicle and let's go. I rolled my eyes at him nonchalantly and remarked, "I have kids waiting."
Without waiting for him, I went to his limousine, and the bodyguard allowed me to board. Alexander, on the other hand, just stood there, looking shocked.
"Come on" I said, holding back a chuckle. I heard him shout curses before he approached the automobile. We started moving swiftly.
**** Thirty minutes later, we have reached David's estate, and I have to agree that the Gages are certainly wealthy. Families like David's resided on the estate, as seen by other residences, as did kinky wealthy and influential individuals.
After a long journey down the well-tarred road, we finally arrived at what I would call a magnificent house.
My goodness! It was big and roomy and beautiful and...everything! The vehicle was parked in a large garage with many other expensive automobiles, so I jumped out without waiting for the driver to come down and open the door for me.
My gaze instantly went into survey mode, absorbing the beauty of the place I was in. A large water fountain was surrounded by a beautiful flower arrangement in the front. Yes, that was a beautiful sight to see.
"Like what you see?" David's annoying voice jolted me out of my reverie. Instead of turning to face him, I just sneered and followed the bodyguard who was carrying some of his belongings.
Another door opened from within the mansion as soon as the bodyguard rang the doorbell, and we all made our way to the front door.
To say that the inside was beautiful would be an understatement; it was much more. It was evident from the placement of the royal-style chandeliers and the elegant furniture arrangements. "We are my kids?"
When I entered, the servant who had opened the door asked me this question first. Rather of immediately answering, he just gave me a blank stare.
He answered, "Your children are in the upstairs room, Mrs. Gages," as if he had just realized what I had asked. Mrs. Gages, oh no. I'll just need to get used to it.
I guess. "Lead the way" The guy nodded, and I followed him up the long spiral of stairs. We both walked along the large corridor when he stopped in front of one of the doors.
He turned and waved his hand toward the entrance. I took it as a sign and headed over. As I began to open the door, I heard Archie's voice. My first reaction was to open the door a little, take a look inside, and hear whatever conversation he was having.
"So, who's the head of the maids in this house?" He perched on the edge of a fluffy, comfortable chair and looked at a young lady who was sitting in the chair across from him.
a bed that is king-sized. Aria is nowhere to be found. My assumption is that the young lady is a maid. She said, "I've told you before Archie, it's Madam Chook."
I know what that kind of frown looks like. Archie's expression contorted. "Why does she have such a weird name?" he questioned innocently. The maid answered, "Who wouldn't laugh heartily?"
She was speaking to Archie. "I don't see why Archie is such a strange name for her either. However, do you know what I know? She asked, leaning in closer. "What?" Archie asked in a low voice, learning more about the woman.
"No one says it to her face that she has a strange name okay, or else she'll use a hot spoon to smack your bare bum" That caused Archie's eyes to widen, and the woman laughed again.Joking aside, she is incapable of doing it.
You're the stepson of our boss." "Mom!" I almost fell out of my seat as I heard the other person's screechy voice exclaim loudly. I opened the door quickly to allow Aria to wrap her arms around my legs.
Archie sprang from the bed, too, and raced toward me. I knelt by them and gave them a hug. My little demonic angels. "Mom, are you now married to Mr. Grumpy face?"
Aria replied. I smiled as I tried to understand her for a few minutes before telling her, "Yes, Aria, but don't mention that in front of him okay."
When I got up and looked at the maid, she immediately bowed her head. "No, no," I rushed to tell her, "thank you, for keeping my kids company." Everyone smiled as Archie stated, "Her name is Maria." She is, indeed.
Just then there was a knock on the door. When I went to inspect it, I saw a guard standing there. "I apologize for the trouble, but Mr.
"Ma'am," he apologized, "Gages asked for your presence downstairs." A groan went through me. For crying out loud, what does he want when I just moved in? I just nodded to the guard and said, "I'll be there."
