Chapter 7 Betrayal

TITLE: BETRAYAL

"Billy would never do that to me, you're lying tell me the truth!" Brandon screamed, choking Josh as the latter coughed.

"I_i'd ne_ver lie."

"Brandon, Brandon let him go,I think he's telling the truth." Miranda said, pulling Josh away. "Where's Billy? He must be around, somewhere, where's he?"

"He left five years back after dating Ariana for three years and after being rejected. He asked her to be his wife but she bluntly refused so he left." Brandon sighed.

He couldn't believe that all these while, Billy had been in love with Ariana. Now it dawned on him, whenever he had an issue with Ariana and he asked Billy for an advice,it was always "Let Ariana go and a new girl will come your way"

"Let's get out of here Miranda," he walked over to the car, turned and stared at Josh.

"Where did he run off to?" He asked as Josh's eyes dilated.

"Sc_scottland." He stuttered but finally said it. "Get ready you'll be going on an assignment there, i want everyone who put my family and I in this terrible position to suffer for it,I want them within close proximity."

"Wh__what about Ariana and Mr Thompson they'd never agree for me to leave just now."

"I do not care what happens to you, you either do what i want you to do or you risk losing your family." Josh gasped,he made sure to hide having a family even from the Thompson's and now Brandon knows about it?

"You thought I'd never find out? Just the way you found out my hiding place nine years ago,I'm paying you with your own coins."

"You should calm down and take a rest." Miranda said, pulling the car into the parking lot of the house.

"Yeah,you should get some rest too." He walked into the house without looking backwards, he'd had enough for one day,it was enough to break any ordinary man down but she knew he'd perfected his emotions. He could fake being remorseful and immediately laugh out loud.

She'd met Brandon at the training institute where they both learned martial arts. They'd gotten closer as the time went by and they both found out their mortal enemies were the same set of people from the same place. Their bond had gotten stronger and he'd promised to help and so here they were.

"Macy,Macy?" She called, walking into the bedroom where Macy sat, going through her books.

"You left me alone all through, that's not nice Miranda."

"Yeah i know and I'm sorry,can you forgive me? Let's hang out together tomorrow." Miranda said as Macy smiled.

"Really? You're not gonna back out,are you?"

"Definitely not, go to bed I'll make breakfast tomorrow."

Brandon allowed the cool water flow freely from his head to his toe, his thoughts moving around all he'd heard today. "Billy, Ariana, Mr Thompson, judge Vilarde and Baron Cohen, you'll all pay." He whispered.

He stepped out of of the bathtub and wrapped a towel around his waist before staring at himself in the mirror. "You've come this far Jason, you've come this far and we must struggle to go higher."

He picked his phone and dialed Josh's number. "You have exactly 48 hours to fish out Billy and make him return or your daughter will be no more." He ended the call.

Several years back,he wouldn't have been able to threaten a lady much less a man who could kill within a twinkle of an eye but he'd turned out to be like this because of them. They all caused it, especially the lady he loved, Ariana. Calling her name now seemed as if he had bile in his mouth.

Tomorrow, he'd be meeting with the bank manager, it's time to know what Mr Thompson did to his gems,the gems which he stole and which made him and Ariana richer.

"You're really making breakfast." Macy said, walking into the kitchen the next morning,her eyes beaming with smiles. Miranda placed the knife on the table and hugged her sister. Their mother had died while giving birth to Macy and some social workers had taken Macy away from her because she was so young and not up to the age of taking care of an infant.

As soon as she clocked eighteen, Macy was six years,she moved in with a friend of hers and took Macy in, taking good care of her sister and since then, they've been together.

"Am i interrupting something?" Brandon asked, walking into the kitchen with a grin on his face. "Yes you are, it's called sister's bonding time." Macy replied as Miranda chuckled.

"You'll have to forgive her, she's so sharp-witted."

"I have ears Miranda and I'm right here, you're not being nice." She whined as Brandon laughed out loud,picked an apple and walked out of the kitchen.

"You should tame your mouth,he's my boss,not my friend."

"Alright I'm sorry I'll try not to be too forward,what do you think?"

"Just try not to be too sharp-witted, it'll do you good around here. Come on let's have breakfast we have a long way to go today it's girls hangout." Macy squealed as Miranda rolled her eyes. Sometimes she wonders if she took care of Macy properly,if she didn't spoil the girl.

Macy was so dependent on her,she could barely do a thing without the help of Miranda. "You're thinking again, you're always doing that. Is it mom?" Macy asked.

"It's nothing sweetie,you shouldn't worry your pretty head over anything, let's just eat.

"His pulse rate is normal and his temperature is stable he should be going about his activities in a few days." The nurse said and carried her bag out.

"Dad?" Ariana called, taking his hand in hers as she smiled. "Very soon, we'll be the most successful business group in the city, Mr Langston is willing to pay for the ships, the missing ships." She said as he smiled.

"Finally we're getting the attention we deserve,the attention we desire. Where's Josh?" He asked, looking around.

"He took three days off,he has worked so hard he deserves it." She replied.

"We should invite Mr Langston to our house for dinner,you can make your specialty." Mr Thompson said as she furrowed her brows before smiling.

"Are you pairing us together dad? You want me to lure him__"

"He's rich, rich enough to take us to the peak, he's single, you're single so why not make the move?" He asked.

"He doesn't seem like an easy guy." She replied, shaking her head and his personal assistant, she looks oddly familiar,her eyes reminds me of someone I know."

"Should we look into her?" He asked but she shrugged. "No, she's of no concern to me dad, she doesn't seem like a threat to me so it's okay."

"We should really lay a strong hold on Brandon, he's a good catch."

"He seems like a smart man." She replied.

"And so was Jason but he wasn't as smart as i was, he should have given in when i asked for the gem,I had to make sure you stole it from him."

"After the divorce it became mine so it wasn't stealing,I took what was mine." She replied smiling evilly.
