Chapter 1 Life

The sun shone on my face as my mom raised the curtains opposite my bed .I really don't understand why she enjoys waking me up.

Good morning mom I said as I got up from my bed ..Good morning baby she replied as she moved closer to kiss my cheeks .

She turned around to leave and I looked at her back view which was beautiful as always I

can boast about getting her curves because I really do have them .

My mom has always been my only family member, she is all I've got and I'm a also all she's got .

Myra she called pulling me out from my thoughts

"yes mom I replied"

You really don't know what today is?

And then it dawned on me I'm leaving for school today!!

OH MY GOD !!!

What's the time I asked her she didn't reply she just rolled her eyes and left my room saying" go take your bath and come downstairs for breakfast.

I picked up my cellphone from the nightstand and checked my WhatsApp for new text .

I got one missed call from Bella.

Bella is my childhood friend, actually she's more like a sister to me. She's not only my friend but also my Godmother's niece.

I clicked on her profile pic and looked at it for the hundredth time this week.

I've been missing her a lot lately.She is fair in complexion beautiful,tall also curvy,she has a cute smile which enhances her gap teeth.Looking at her picture is actually making kind of emotional because I'm going to see her very soon .

I clicked on the call Icon and the phone started buzzing seconds later her face popped up in my screen..

Hi baby Bella said

Good morning madam I replied and she smiled oh I love that smile.

So are you ready? she asked.

I'm not so sure Ella I replied.

C'mon baby you will be fine trust me. Ella said to me.

"I hope so" I said barely in a wisper.

We kept talking about our lives and other things.

And most of all we talked about her boyfriend;Emmy .

Bella and Emmy were childhood sweet hearts, they started dating when Ella was just fifteen years old,and Emmy was 20 years old.

Emmy has been acting weird lately ,he doesn't call me ,he replies my text really late ,abd he's always paranoid.

Bella said looking sad .

To be sincere I hate seeing her like this it breaks my heart.

You know what bestie, once I get to Lagos I will make sure to come over and take you out.s So you can have some fun and take a break from all these relationship problems .

Myra said to her friend.

Ok ?Myra said

Ok Bella said still looking sad.

And stop acting like you guys broke up already.

Ella chuckled.

And we finally said our goodbyes.

I stood in front of my mirror and took a deep breath I just took my bath I looked around my room and I didn't know when I started tearing up.

I will surely miss my home I ran hands through the pink bedsheets,the pink drawers, curtains, drawers and I took a deep breath and walked out of my room.

I walked down the stairs slowly looking at the white and pink designs on the walls .

Majority of the designs in my house are pink and white because white was my mom's favorite color while pink was my favorite color.

People kind of find it funny but I really don't like dooorr"I'm just a girl".

Myra come have break fast Sophia our house help said.

I replied with a ok

Sophia is one of the few people I regard as family, she's been working for my mom since I was a little girl.

Even though she has no children she treats me like one she's one of the people that I will miss .

I came to the dinning table and found my mom and Sophia crying like babies.

Seriously guys I'm already feeling emotional so don't add to the extreme emotions I'm feeling right now .

Sophia came and hugged me tightly I couldn't help but shed tears .

Seeing two women grown women crying made me cry too.

Finally the emotional rollercoaster was over and we sat down to have breakfast.

Sophia or my third mom and my mom kept feeding me with fruits fish meat and others I was getting fed up so I stood up and went to my room one more time and thirty minutes later we were on our way to the airport.

I kept looking at the city through the car window.

Abuja is my city ,I was born here ,I learnt everything I know here.

This is my home even though I'm leaving it behind but it's not forever though I know it.

I just don't know how my mom is going to cope without me.
