Chapter 2 The Maid's Secret

Maria Hernandez had been working as a maid for several years, but she had never been employed by someone as wealthy and powerful as Reginald Thompson. As she began her new job, she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves.

As she worked tirelessly to clean and organize Reg's penthouse apartment, Maria's mind wandered to her own dreams and aspirations. What Reg didn't know was that Maria was hiding a secret. She was actually a talented artist, working on her portfolio in the hopes of one day attending art school. Her job as a maid was a means to support herself while she pursued her passion.

Maria's love of art had been inspired by her late mother, who had been a painter. Growing up, Maria had spent hours watching her mother work, mesmerized by the way she brought colors and textures to life. After her mother's passing, Maria had continued to paint, using art as a way to express her emotions and cope with her grief.

As Maria finished cleaning the living room, she glanced around at the sleek, modern furniture and the stunning city views. It was a far cry from the small, humble apartment she shared with her sister. Maria felt a pang of gratitude for the opportunity to work for Reg, but she also couldn't help but feel a little out of place.

Just then, Reg emerged from his study, his eyes fixed on Maria. "You're doing a great job, Maria," he said, his deep voice sending a shiver down her spine. "I appreciate your attention to detail."

Maria smiled, feeling a flush rise to her cheeks. "Thank you, Mr. Thompson," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Reg's eyes lingered on Maria's face, and for a moment, she felt like he could see right through her. But then he nodded and turned away, leaving Maria to wonder if she had just imagined the spark of connection between them.
