Jessica had warned me about her brother. She always talked about him like he was a bad guy. A player. That he would break your heart and leave you alone forever if you got too close to him.
He cupped my cheek with one hand while the other slid up my neck until it rested on my shoulder. His fingers gently rubbed my skin as he looked into my eyes. He moved even closer to me, our faces inches apart.
"Are you that scared of my sister, Jessica?" he asked.
"No....Not exactly," I replied.
"She must have told you something about me. I can see you're battling inside yourself whether or not to let loose with me," he whispered.
My breathing picked up as his lips moved closer to ears. I could feel his hot breath against my skin, making me shiver with excitement.
"Well then, Tell me." He said.
"She said you were bad," I replied softly.
"Bad? Is that all she said about me?" He chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"I guess." I muttered.
"Is there anything else?" He asked.
"Umm, she also said you are a huge player. And that you broke hearts for a living." I answered. My cheeks turned red.
A slight grin formed on his lips as he let out a little laugh.
"I wouldn't say I am a big player. Just a little bit of fun here and there. I did get my fair share of broken hearts over the years though. Maybe more than a few, but I always left them all with something. Whether it was a smile or just an unforgettable night. I really couldn't care less if they stayed broken-hearted, as long as they thought of me every time they thought about their ex."
I gulped, trying to keep my composure. I couldn't believe I was having this type of conversation with Jake. I couldn't believe I wasn't even standing there despite how extremely attractive he looked.
What happened to the wallflower in me? I mean I wasn't confident at the moment but at the same time I wasn't cowering either.
My lips were pursed together as Jake continued to speak to me. He was clearly admitting that he was a 'player.'
But on the other hand, I could tell he wasn't trying to hurt me... Or maybe I was a naive little girl who hadn't been with any guy before and wanted to be with with the first guy that made her feel special. Yeah, that was probably it.
"You know, I love girls like you," Jake said gazing at me with a smirk.
"Girls like me?" I asked tilting my head.
"Yes, good girls. Girls that are a lot smarter than they seem to give themselves credit for. Girls who deep down just want to be noticed by someone. Who got a side of them no one knows about. They try to hide it, but I know the real you. I see it in your eyes. You don't have to pretend with me. I see right through you, Brittany" He explained.
The way he said my name sent shivers throughout my body. I could feel myself getting wetter and hotter by the second. My mouth hung dry, unable to respond. Even though the air was chilly, Jake was making me feel warm inside.
"I... uhm... I think I need to go home now," I stuttered, breaking eye contact with him. I couldn't handle being in his presence any longer.
Jake let out a little sigh. "If you want to keep running away from me, I will respect that decision. But I am warning you, if you turn and walk away right now, you won't see me again. I promise you that."
I stood there for a moment contemplating my options. I knew Jessica was right. Jake was trouble. He wasn't the type of guy I should be getting involved with. His tattoos, his piercings, his leather jacket, his confidence; it was all too overwhelming. But at the same time I didn't want to stop feeling this way.
Just having him beside me was thrilling. I wanted to find out what it felt like to have his arms wrapped around me, to be kissed by him. I didn't care about any consequence that might come after. All I wanted was him.
I hadn't had any fun my whole life and maybe doing this may expose me to some new experiences and open me up to the world, I tried to convince my self.
"So what do you say Whyte?" he whispered.
My heart was pounding so fast I thought it was going to jump right out of my chest. I was unsure of what he meant, but I knew that I didn't want to say no. I wanted to give it a try. Maybe it was the rush of adrenaline coursing through my body, or maybe it was the alcohol, but I decided to give into temptation.
"I say yes," I said stepping forward and pressing my lips against his. Jake pulled me into him and kissed me passionately.
He slid his hand under my hair and threw his other arm around my waist. For a brief minute, everything seemed to be perfect. I could feel myself floating away from reality. I was lost in his arms.
When our lips finally parted, I felt a tingling sensation between my legs. It was warm and I knew instantly that I wanted more. Jake's hands were still on either side of my face and he was staring at me with lustful hunger.
"Tomorrow night, 8pm sharp. Meet me at this spot.
