Chapter 1 The search for a mate

In the kingdom of Silver moon pack, a beautiful and hard-working woman named Belle Smith is currently harvesting the vegetables in her small garden. Sweat keeps rolling down her face while her back starts to ache. However, the hard-working Belle is not aiming to give up. She needed to harvest more vegetables for her to sell in the market to provide her father with his daily maintenance.

After a couple of hours harvesting, Belle finished everything she needed to harvest and happily went inside their small house, where her father was waiting for her.

Belle's world seemed to stop when she discovered what her father was doing. In her quick reflexes, Belle released the basket of vegetables that she was holding and then ran towards her ill-fated father.

"What are you doing, dad?" She asked in her shaking voice then took the knife from her father's grip. Belle could feel her body start to shatter in fear as she can't believe what she witnessed.

"Please kill me, Belle. I'm in such trouble now. I can't watch you suffer because of me." The beautiful Belle couldn't stop her tears falling on her eyes upon hearing that from her father. She could feel how much the pain that her father was feeling now.

"Don't say that, dad, please. Even though I need to work day and night just to support your medication, I am willing to do that, dad. But please, what I want to ask you is that you should be brave enough. Killing your life isn't the solution." She said in her shaking voice. Her father on the other side burst into tears while hugging her tightly.

"I'm sorry for giving you so much headache, daughter. You shouldn't be in that position. Obviously, you must be at school studying, but look at you now, you're taking good care of me." Belle's heart seemed to ache again upon hearing those heartfelt words from her father.

Yes, she wanted to pursue her studies, but she can't. Her father needed much of her attention and care. She also needed to work for her father's medication and also for their food. The willingness to go back to studying erased from her head. All she was thinking now was her father.

"As long as I can, dad, I will take good care of you. So, please stay in here and don't ever try to do what you were supposed to do earlier, okay?" Belle uttered, and she was happy knowing that her father nodded his head responding to her.

Subsequently, she went back to where the vegetables were scattered from everywhere. Belle heaved out a loud deep breath upon seeing how the vegetables she picked scattered all over the place. She bent down her knees and started picking it when she suddenly stopped from what she was doing.

Belle slowly lifted her head and found that there were three men who were looking towards her. She abruptly stood up from kneeling and faced the three men. She could feel her heart pounded too fast, knowing where the three men came from. They are from the palace, especially the Alpha's bodyguards.

"Are you Belle Smith?" One of them asked her to swallow her saliva. She could feel her legs start to tremble in shame, knowing that these men are looking for her.

"Yes, I am. Why?" She asked and both the three men turned their gazes towards her that made Belle feel uncomfortable by their gazes.

"The Alpha of the Silver moon kingdom would like to see you, and he was looking for you." Belle seemed shocked by what she heard that made her open her mouth in awe.

Belle cannot help but to shake her head as she was trying to waken up her sleepy mind. She can't digest the information she heard from the trustworthy personnel of the kingdom.

"But may I know why? Maybe, the Alpha is just mistaken, and it was not me who he was looking for." Belle uttered that made the three men raise their brows towards her.

"Every information that the Alpha told us is true and not a mere mistake. This is essential, especially for the whole kingdom." One of the boys stated that it still shocked her. Belle cannot believe what they have said towards her.

Why does the Alpha of Silver moon pack looking at me? She isn't a celebrity nor a special girl for him to send his personnel just for her.

Belle remembered the first encounter that she and the Alpha of the Silver moon pack had. Belle keeps seeing the Alpha of the Werewolves before, but it is the first time that their eyes are locked with each other.

And since that day, Belle cannot sleep at night well as she was thinking about the Alpha.

"I have work, and I can't put aside this just for the unsure thing that the three of you were saying." Belle said, and continued what she was doing. The three men didn't talk and let her continue the things that she was doing right now until someone held her hand. Belle's heart pounded abruptly in so many emotions.

She lifted her head and Belle's mouth opened wide when she discovered the owner of the hand that was currently holding her hand.

"Alpha Stephen." She murmurs and blinks countless times to make sure that she isn't dreaming. The man in her front was the Alpha of the pack.

"Let me help you." He said, and Belle seemed shocked when Alpha Stephen started helping her. On the other hand, Belle just bit the lower part of her lips and continued picking up the vegetables. Thereafter, she stood up straight and faced the Alpha who is currently staring her deep into her eyes.

"So, may I know the reason that the Alpha is here?" She asked in her nervous voice. Belle felt attracted to the Alpha's features, especially her handsome face, but she tried to act normal.

"I was searching for a mate that I can present to my coronation night, and I choose you among other girls I know." He directly said and Belle's heart filled with happiness like she wanted to jump out of happiness. She was about to smile when Belle heard her father's cough.

It seems like she was awakened from her deep thoughts that her father needs medicine right away. And she can't stay in here long, talking with the Alpha.

"I'm deeply sorry, Alpha but, I think you've chosen the wrong person. I must go to the market now." She said and ran away outside of her home with the basket full of vegetables in her hand.

"Wait, Belle!" She could still hear the Alpha calling out her name, but she continued from running through the market.

"I'm sorry, Alpha, but what matters for me now is my father's illness." She murmured and still continued running. Belle is running out of time, and she needs to sell all of her vegetables, so she can buy medicine for her father.

On the other hand, Alpha Stephen rushed and followed Belle to where she ran. He needed to talk with her, and he won't go back to the kingdom without her.

"What a careless woman!" Belle's basket fell down on the floor again when she bumped her body to someone who almost made her fall down the ground.

"I am deeply sorry, I was rushing." She exclaimed and was about to pick the vegetables when the woman that she bumped stepped on the vegetables that made her heart torn to pieces.

Belle can't imagine that this is happening to her. She cannot imagine that the only thing can give her money, destroyed by the person she accidentally bumped at.

"This serves you! You're such a clumsy and dumbass girl!" She angrily exclaimed towards Belle. The woman seemed not to be satisfied and was about to slap her when a strong hand caught the woman's hand that was about to slap Belle's face.

"Do that, or I will kill you!" A deep baritone voice is what Belle heard behind her back, which made her happy. Someone saved her and she knew who he was.
