Chapter 2 Saved by him

A hand offered help to Belle that made her stand up from sitting down on the ground. On the other hand, Belle accepts the Alpha's hand.

"Who are you then?" The woman who was about to slap her and didn't even try to know who just stopped her. The moment that she turned around, she noticed from the woman's reaction that she was shocked upon knowing who she'd talk with.

"Alpha Stephen." The woman uttered her scared tone. Her eyes widened while her mouth seemed to start to shatter.

"I don't like the way you treat this woman." Suddenly, Alpha Stephen hid her on his back, which made Belle bite the lower part of her lips. Until now, she still can't believe that the Alpha would be about to follow her and then save her from this woman who was about to hurt her.

"It was all her fault, Alpha Stephen. She was not paying much of her attention on the road." The woman uttered that made Belle nervous. She was just scared that what if this time, the Alpha would be the one to be angry with her.

"It does not matter if it were her fault, what matters is that you should not hurt her after she asks for an apology." Belle seemed shocked again when she heard that towards the Alpha.

"But, Alpha Stephen, it is not my mere intention. I just can't control myself towards her clumsiness." The woman fearlessly stated towards the Alpha. I know that she did not pay some respect to how she sounded towards him.

"I seem not to agree with your manners. I don't care if it is her fault. I saw with my own two eyes that she didn't purposely do it." Belle can't help but feel guilty that the Alpha was angry with the woman. She knew that it was her fault why the woman was angry like that.

Therefore, Belle decided to speak to the woman and start asking for an apology again.

"I am genuinely sorry, Ma'am. It was not my mere intention to bump into you." She said calmly, but the woman was not satisfied. She even mentioned words that made Belle shocked.

"If I saw you again, I'd rather end your life." She confidently said that made the Alpha grip her wrist which made the woman grimace in pain. Belle starts to panic about how scary the Alpha now is.

"You're not paying much attention to who you are talking with. I am your Alpha and you are disrespecting my chosen mate." Alpha Stephen said that made the woman to be threatened.

"I am genuinely sorry, Alpha, I can promise that I will never do this again." The woman said, and Alpha Stephen released her hand making her grab the chance to run away from us. This time, it was only her and Alpha Stephen left in the middle of the road.

Belle is hurt and worries a lot that she won't be able to sell the damaged vegetables in the market, and she cannot earn from it anymore. Now, she worries a lot about where to look for money to buy medicine for her father.

"Are you okay? Did she hurt you?" The Alpha asked her and checked Belle carefully. She cannot help but be flush from what the Alpha acted. Until she remembers something.

"Thank you so much for saving me, Alpha Stephen," Belle said sincerely making the Alpha look at her deep into her hazel eyes.

"I will take responsibility for the damages, Belle. By the way, I would like to ask if you received the document that I have sent to you in your home?" He asked Belle to raise her brows.

"A document?" She asked and tried to remember if ever that she received like that yesterday. And then, she remembers that there's a document delivered by the palace mailers. Belle thought that it was not significant, so she just put it aside.

"Yes, a document, and I am expecting you to read it." He said that made her swallow hard her saliva. Belle did not know how she was about to tell the Alpha that she is not yet reading it.

"Actually..." She can't finish her sentence because of nervousness. She's also doubting herself to believe what the document says. Belle still struggles to believe the Alpha's motives.

"It does not matter, anyway. I could tell you about it here with you, by the way." Belle lifts her head upon hearing that from the Alpha.

"I'm sorry to inform you, Alpha Stephen, but the kingdom is needing you immediately." One of his companions said that made Alpha Stephen sigh. Before he left, the Alpha gave her something that made Belle to be shocked.

"I hope this will help you to buy your father medicine. I will talk to you after this, Belle." Alpha Stephen said and left her still dumbfounded.

"Hey, wait!" It was late when Belle realized that the Alpha gave her money, which was enough for her to supply her father with medicine and also their food. She can't believe, until now, how the Alpha saved her from the angry woman who almost slapped her. The Alpha is considered by Belle as her savior.

Whenever she stared at the money in her hand, Belle doubted to accept it, but when she thought of her father, she just heaved out a deep breath.

This time, Belle decided to go straight to the market and buy anything they needed. Thereafter, she went home with food and medicine in her hands.

Belle, was still far from their home when she already noticed someone who is patiently waiting for her on their small chair that was made of a bamboo craft. The middle-aged man stood up from sitting when she noticed her presence.

"I am the managing accountant of Alpha, and I am here to give you this." Belle can't imagine the tons of dollars offered by the man to her. She was doubting whether to accept it or not.

"Why is he offering me this?" Belle asked the personal managing accountant of the Alpha to smile at her.

"As long as you come to the palace tomorrow morning, you will be enlightened. You and my Alpha will have to talk about it privately. I was expecting that he mentioned it to you already. Also, the Alpha discovers about your ill-fated father, and you cannot resist what he will offer you." After the managing accountant uttered that towards her, he left her alone outside and was still as shocked.

Belle can't think well about what is happening at the moment. She kept on staring at the money that she was holding. She already knew that the help of the Alpha is not free at all. Everything has some reason and whatever it is, she needed to go to the palace and talk to him about what he wanted. About why the Alpha is helping her.

Belle would like to know what might be the compensation for his help. Everything that the Alpha did to her earlier has a purpose, she knew. Whatever it was, she suddenly felt nervous.

"Above all, I was still grateful that he saved me," Belle murmured with a smile on her face. Until now, the image of the man kept on popping into her head. She was too lucky to meet and talk to the Alpha in person. It seemed so hard to believe, but what she was sure of, everything happened in reality. The Alpha of the Silver moon pack saved her from earlier.
