Chapter 4 I Don't Want To Get Married

"Hi, mum, Good morning," Gigi said while on the phone with her mother, Sandra Lawrence.

"How are you doing? Have you eaten and taken your medication?"

"I'm okay, I'm leaving for work now, I'll get something on the way, then eat at the office and take my medicine. Don't worry."

"Okay, but don't forget. Take a break, close on time, and go home and rest. Eat and rest properly this period." She sighed. "If not for your work, I would have suggested you come home to rest."

"It's okay, it's not serious. I know how to take care of myself. Just take care of yourself and Nuel. I'll visit once I'm free, okay?"

"Okay, be safe, dear."

"Yes, you too."

Gigi left the hostel, bought food, and entered a bus to work.

A few minutes before closing time, Gigi's boss, Mr. Joe Eric, took a seat at her table and sat down.

"Gigi, how are you doing? I heard you're leaving next month."

Gigi usually communicates more with her boss partner, Mrs. Dianne Eric. So she tells her everything that will affect her work. She normally relays the information to her husband.

"Yeah, I'll be on the mission's ground."

"Okay, that's good. Which city will you be going to?"

"Abuja, I'll be going to the chapter in Abuja, Sir," she said with a warm smile.

Gigi has wanted to live in Abuja since she was 17. She had been planning it for a long time, and when she finally joined her church, Kingdom Diplomat, in her year one and came across the rules and ways of the church, she always hoped and prayed a chapter would be established in Abuja so she could go and serve there.

Her original reason for wanting to go to Abuja was for a relationship that didn't work out. She later found out that they're lots of job opportunities and she can build her career over there.

"How are plans going?"

"Very well. I'm ready."

"Okay, if you need anything, let me know."

"Thank you Sir, I appreciate."

"Don't forget us over there, especially when you see someone over there that wants to marry you."

"Not this marriage topic again. Am I that old? I'm only 22 this year," Gigi grumbled in her mind.

"Sir, you know how I feel about marriages, yet you keep prophesying marriage to me. I don't want to get married."

Gigi mentioned that she didn't want to get married to Mr. Joe when she was in her finals, and ever since then, he has been prophesying the man she'll marry, saying he'll be a Pastor and very wealthy. It makes her feel uncomfortable within.

"You'll get married. And it will shock you."

"Let's see," Gigi said with a smirk.
